  1. Gorilla Mix A proper organic substrate is quite possibly the most important and often most overlooked aspect of the entire cultivation process Compost: A well balanced soil conditioner made from the finest organic uncontaminated raw materials. Bone Meel: Used as an organic fertiliser for plants – it’s a source of protein & phosphorous. Worm Castings: Providing a quick release source of nitrogen for your plants while introducing healthy bacteria. Worm castings contain many micro nutrients that are also very beneficial to the plant. Perlite: Sterile, with a neutral pH and contains many tiny, closed cells or bubbles. The surface of each particle is covered with tiny cavities which provide an extremely large surface area. These surfaces hold moisture and nutrients and make them available to plant roots.
  2. When trichomes are partly cloudy.
  3. You should kinda always look at the trichomes regardless of light.
  4. Anyone tried this new soil? I'm tempted to transplant my plants into them and can get delivered to my door at 150R for 13 bags.
  5. Need to transplant, but GT out of soil, so I wait. The dusting on top is digestive bran, I introduced predator mites.
  6. Grow complete: Out come: I landed up tossing 3 plants still still flowering, purely because I needed the space and harvested the rest. Mite damage but the bud still looked good (Medi Bomb) No measurements yet will see what the dry weight is at the end. This was from 5 plants, no training letting them do their thing. As far as first grows go in a few years I would call it a good outcome, lots of things learnt on what not to do.
  7. Well I was in contact via mail with them at the time and they offered be massively reduced shipping costs.
  8. http://photonicled.com No idea on postage at the time I was going to order the postage was free, but they'll be able to give you a quote. Not a lot of people are going to fork out 15K on a light, so I don't really see much market for it.
  9. Because other places run specials, also im not really interested in being an importer of lights also HLG is not all that cracked out its made to be. I'm eyeing these out in the future : https://www.ledgrowlightsdepot.com/products/amare-solarbar-sb-800
  10. There are many cheaper ways to get things in SA. The fact that I can get an HLG 550 v2 from the US for around 12-13K incl customs, that is already a 5K saving. But then again I would rather go fluence.
  11. Well diodes are the same but the manufacturing process is most likely different, only recently last year did HLG start printing their own boards. Samsung actually do the fabrication now for them.
  12. I own multiple quantum boards, HLG 65 for 2500? Lol. try 99$ https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/products/hlg-65 I can also get the HLG 550 V2 for 850$ also can get half price shipping on the unit. That being said half the quantum boards where manufactured in Shenzen, so you can just get reliable ones from there as well. HLG 550 clone same diodes from a reliable manufacturer : https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/HLG550-Full-spectrum-Quantum-boards-480watt_60835863406.html?spm=a2700.icbuShop.rect38f22d.1.bc2665e8UCpIOC Here is one with LM 301B diodes - https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/QB288-V2-Samsung-lm301B-SK-full_60834267751.html?spm=a2700.icbuShop.rect38f22d.3.bc2665e8UCpIOC So yeah, better options out there.
  13. Noticed some slight deficiencies so started feeding biobizz fish mix with some calmag, will need to move them to the bigger tent sooner than expected:
  14. I don't suspect they're going to grow much bigger than that. You could try a different nutrient maybe some fish emulsion.
  15. Even easier is to use the STS method. Silver nitrate 25 grams - R551 Sodium thiosulphate 500grams - R68 https://steemit.com/cannabis/@thecleangame/how-to-make-and-use-silver-thiosulfate-solution-sts-for-feminized-cannabis-pollen-featuring-the-gorgeous-early-dane With that amount of silver nitrate you can essentially make close to 50 liters of reversing agent.
  16. I'm running those two panels at 300 watts, they're rated up to 470, but my driver only puts out 300 watts per channel. So I'm running the driver at max output, for my next grow I will most likely run them lower to see the result.
  17. COB's are actually not really cheaper, they actually work out far more expensive due to frame construction, heat sinks, couplers , multiple LED drivers. Last time I did a price list to build a cob setup i quickly went into the 13K mark with barely any effort, that was not even including shipping at this point, and cobs are dimmable, if you use a dimmable driver. QB are actually the cheaper option here, it boils down to your wattage requirements. I currently run QB, 600 watts per side in my 2.4m wide tent. Both put out heat, QB's can be run at lower voltage and are still very efficient, that is one of their perks among other things.
  18. Sprouts taking off nicely. So far 1 GSC and 1 Royal Gorilla have yet to break through, so I'm guessing those are bunk seeds. Otherwise all the others have popped.
