  1. Yeah, that makes sense bud. The plan for the next grow (which should be in a few weeks) is: - 2 x Aurora Indica - 2 x Atomic Bomb - 2 X Skunk #1 That is assuming all seeds pop. *touch wood*
  2. That OG of yours should keep you nice and baked while you cook up some more strains. What you got planned for the next grow bud?
  3. Looking good brother. Actually looks a little like the smaller Lost Coast OG I'm running. I suppose they share some genetics, so not so surprising. I see we flipped to 12/12 on exactly the same day.
  4. Looking forward to the smoke report bud.
  5. She is a frosty girl for sure. Thanks for following Cheese! Now get your update going. LOL!
  6. UPDATE Day 48 of 12/12 and 38 of bloom. Calyxes are swelling and pistils are shrinking. The Freak is definitely the longest flowering plant in the tent. Still almost all white, and hasn't quite turned the corner yet for that last phase of flowering. She really might just be the heaviest girl I've ever grown. I closed the windows in that room yesterday due to high winds. The smell coming from there when I went to check on them last night was intense! Sickly sweet almost. Fruit/sour/cream/caramel. If you brush up against the LC-OG's you also get petrol/burnt rubber/pine. If you just smell the buds it is fruit and sour milk. Venoms don't stink much. Just a subtle fruit and skunk smell. Last 4 photos are all of the smaller Blue Venom. Smallest plant and smallest buds in the tent. She has plenty of bud sites though, and is extremely frosty. She will also flower for at least a week longer than her bigger sister. So she might put out a respectable yield.
  7. For sure Toby. That's where I learnt about the bud washing as well. I just didn't like the idea of using H2O2. If I had bud rot *touch wood* I would then use the H2O2. PM washes off easily though, and doesn't come back either.
  8. I had a bad case of PM on my last round. The reason I decided to do the bud washing actually. After reading up on the antibacterial and anti-fungal properties of both bicarb and lemon juice, I decided against the H2O2. I'm glad I did. No PM, and beautiful smelling and tasting weed. Just something to consider.
  9. Buy 3 buckets. I bought 9L buckets. Get some bicarbonate of soda. (blue box: Robertsons) Get some lemon juice concentrate. I use Brookes Tru-lem. Fill bucket1 with luke warm water. Bucket2 with hot tap water. Not hot enough to burn. Bucket3 with cold tap water. Pour 150ml of lemon juice into bucket1. Pour half a cup (I use large coffee cup) of bicarbs into bucket1. Give it a quick stir. It should fizz. Now you're ready. Take a trimmed bud (make sure to leave some stalk on it so that you can hold the bud) and swish it around gently in bucket1 for 30 to 60 seconds. Rinse off in bucket2. Rinse off in bucket3. Shake off excess water. Lay washed buds on some carlton towelling with a fan on them for about 30 - 60min. Turn them once to make sure no excess water on them. Then place them on drying racks or hang them for final dry.
  10. Beautiful sparkly clean buds. Congrats on the harvest Toby!
  11. 4 days and your buds will be bone dry. Then jar them, and after 48 hours in the jars (and regular burping) you have buds that have that perfect moisture to them. Dry, but not too dry. A few days in the jars also makes the smell really stand out.
  12. Nothing beats bud washing when it comes to drying and curing. I will put my cock on a block with that statement.
  13. Yeah, i shouldn't use the term "flush". It's confusing. What I mean, is that I stop feeding and only give pH'd water until harvest. To kick this process off, I will use the EM prosoil.
  14. Thanks bud I usually flush for 7 - 10 days depending on how on top of things I am. Prefer closer to 10 than 7. Use EM-prosoil to help with the process. Seems to work. How do you do it?
  15. UPDATE Day 44 of 12/12 and 34 of bloom. Ok, so the larger blue venom is definitely in the last stages of flower. The smaller one is also ripening, but is about 4 or 5 days behind it's bigger sister. So a very fast flowering strain it seems. I'm disappointed. The buds on these 2 are the smallest in the tent, and they only have about 2 weeks left by the looks of things. They should swell nicely in those 2 weeks, but will still be low yielding. I'm hoping I'm wrong of course. The Freak hasn't put on much bulk over the last 3 days. Instead, the 2 Lemons have almost caught up. They have really been packing it on. It's interesting to see the various stages they go through. It's almost like a race, with the leading 3 trying to overtake each other. Last 4 photos are all of the bigger Blue Venom. You can see she is in the home stretch. About 2 weeks left on her. I will start the flush in about 5 or 6 days.
  16. Is it not just a bunch of bud packed tightly together? I don't know man. Looks like a paper mache bud. LOL! Way too symmetrical, and of course... the size!
  17. UPDATE Day 41 of 12/12 and 31 of bloom. 3 of the plants have moved into the next stage of flowering. Some of the pistils are turning, and you can see the buds are not quite as fluffy anymore. Strangely, The Freak is still all white while her smaller LC-OG sibling has turned the corner. So this large lass is going to flower a little longer and get that much bigger. The plant with the shortest flowering time will be the bigger Blue Venom. Anyway, on to the pics. The last 5 photos are all of the bigger LC-OG aka The Freak. These photos don't do her justice. She is stacking monster buds!
  18. UPDATE Day 39 of 12/12 and 29 of bloom Not much to report, other than the high humidity has stalled the plants a little. They are still swelling, but not at the same rate. The weather seems to have cleared now, so humidity should drop. Thought about skipping this update, but I am a creature of habit and it has been 2 days so it is update time. Last 5 pics are all of the bigger Lemon OG Kush. She is the best smelling plant I have ever grown. It smells like pure candy. The dairy smell is not so prominent anymore, but the sweet smell is almost overpowering. It has a citrus smell, but it's not quite lemon. Too sweet for that. My wife says it smells like naartjie mix-a-drink. It is that sweet smelling. (Just googled naartjie and realised it is an afrikaans word for tangerine. Didn't know that)
  19. Thanks for the info bud. One of my concerns is that with high humidity, plants drink/eat less. Not what i want at this point. I see the weather looks to be clearing up though. Let's hope so...
