  1. Yo 420SA community, As the title says, I have some questions about inline fans. I currently have a 1.2m x 1.2m tent and was wondering what the best inline fan and carbon filter pairing will be best? I know for the 1.2m x 1.2m tent, growers usually use a 150mm Inline Fan, with a carbon filter that matches up. I was wondering, would it hurt to get a stronger inline fan like a 200mm fan, along with the paired carbon filter, for the sized tent I am running? Also, I see that most stores stock the Ram Mixed Glow Inline Fans, indicating that that is the standard for homegrowers. I have seen online some VTronic inline fans. Is this brand any good, reputable, trustworthy? Would getting a VTronic 200mm Fan be a better option than the RAM 150mm Fan, given the size of my tent? I have seen a VTronic 200mm for cheaper than the RAM 150mm - should that influence my decision? Thanks in advance for any assistance. This community is rad! Happy Growing To All!
  2. Yo 420SA Community, 1st time indoor grower, couple of years experience growing outdoors. This season I'm hoping to take on both. I've only ever grown in soil and intend to do my first few indoor runs using soil as well. Not looking at growing in coco or hydro just yet, would rather like a smoother transition from what I know so far. Question I have is, what soil / soil mix do indoor growers on here use? I have used the Freedom Farms Green Bag in previous years for outdoor. Can I use the same for indoor? Is it just Freedom Farms and then bottled nutrients through the grow? Do growers add any other things to their soil or is the Freedom Farms bags enough? Thanks in advance for any assistance!
  3. Amazing! Thanks for all the input friends! Returned it to the plant yesterday and seen that it has found a new home on another leaf already!
  4. Hi there community! Was wondering if anybody could help me identify this beautiful, bright yellow spider? Forgive the quality of the image, but I think you can still see him pretty well. Completely yellow spider, slightly crab shaped. Saw her a few months ago, it seemed to have disappeared, but seems she's been there all along. I think it's a female because this leaf was folded, as if to make a little cove for her eggs, which i think is what's happening in this image. (can see that little fluff beneath her) I pulled the leaf off and quickly realised it could possibly be beneficial, so I've put the leaf back for the time being. Is this spider beneficial? Should I leave or remove it? having little spiders hatch on my plant doesn't sound like the most appealing, unless it's here to help. In the southern suburbs area of Cape Town if that helps. Thanks in advance!
  5. Yo Community, So I've been facing a similar issue in that BioBizz Bloom is out of stock. At the grow shop, the shop attendant recommended me using BioPhos Repro as a substitute for BioBizz Bloom. I haven't fed yet, but need to feed either today or tomorrow. I was wondering if anyone has used the BioPhos Repro product? and also if it will be alright for me to mix the BioPhos Repro with other products in the BioBizz line. I usually make one big drum of nutrient mix, consisting of different products, pH balance that mix, and feed that between my plants. Is it fine to mix different nutrient lines? I know BioBizz isn't completely organic, but it does use a molasses base, whereas the BioPhos, from what I've read, does not. Is BioPhos synthetic? Apologies for all the questions, kings and queens.
  6. Thanks to both of you for your replies. Went down a little rabbit hole on both insects, so worthwhile having read up on the additional info. Definitely looks like the Cottony Cushion Scale. Not ideal, but far from a disaster pest. Neem Oil, Insecticidal Soaps & Power Spray Bottles should do the trick for anybody else dealing with this and coming across this in the future!
  7. Hi Community, I've been noticing a few of these cocoon like things on some of my plants. Don't know what they are and would like to get rid. The ants seem to be drawn towards them... Looks almost furry around the sides. When I turned it over it looked like some bug that had laid some type of small red eggs. Still quite visible to the human eye. The ants still intrigued by it. I have removed what I managed to find and squashed it on the ground. Quite soft and squishy. Would appreciate if someone could steer me in the direction of a fix. Thanks in advance!
  8. Hello 420SA, Great to be here and very happy to have found a strong local community with buckets of knowledge and expertise on this amazing plant. I'm a Uni student located in the Southern Suburbs region of Cape Town. I've been an on-and-off outdoor grower for a few years and definitely consider myself a novice still. I would like to improve my growing skills by engaging with the wealth of knowledge this forum hosts. I currently have 7 outdoor photoperiods going; 2 being in the ground, the rest in pots. Most are bag seed of decent genetics I've collected and then I have 1 Wedding Cake and 1 Grande Crack in pots, bought from Biltong & Budz. 2 of the bag seed has gone through some terrible re-veg due to early planting schedule. Proper rookie mistake. I've also already harvested an Amnezia Haze auto flower this season, with a harvest of around 50 grams dry with no training, not much amendments and water with a pH of 8.6. So was far from ideal, but still gave me some decent flower considering the less than ideal grow. I have since started pH balancing my water and feed, I am seeing improvements, but my plants are telling me there is still much to learn. I have recently got a 4x4 grow tent and Mars TS-3000 LED light and will be starting my first indoor journey in 2021. I love Outdoor cultivation and will always keep it around. I would like to improve both indoor and outdoor techniques and practices and know this community is loaded with experienced heads that can assist my journey! Will start a grow diary in due time as well. Look forward to being a part of and engaging with this community! Bless.
