  1. 6 bowls in and loving it even more. Still can’t believe it was this cheap.

So glad I went in to the shop and didn’t go the lazy route and just bought over the internet

  2. Also temps are 180-230 in increments of 10. Great clear screen with battery and temp indicators.

Currently 200 seems to be a nice sweet spot. All the way to 230 seem to toast it too much.

  3. Nice man! I have been vaping for a couple of years and much prefer it to combustion.

I have a Davinci IQ2 currently and loove it!

Never used or seen a Utillian 421 before, but as long as it works and gets you stonned! Much healthier than smoking too and less harsh.
Flavours are quite different on a vape as well and the high also differs a little at times. You can customise the high a bit too by adjusting the temp.

It is a entry level device, but got a ceramic bowl and glass mouthpiece. Still trying different temps and learning how tight to pack the bowl.

  4. The vape is actually a lot like a bong. Grind, pack, smoke, clean.

Maintenance seems the big thing to remember, but the flavors is what amazed me. Want to grow 10 different strains now

  5. So took the plunge and invested in a vape. After 20+ years of smoking it’s time to give the lungs a rest.

After watching a lot of entry level reviews i was thinking of the gpen pro/elite or the boundless cdc 2.0.

Then I went to the vape shop. Had a lekker chat and they recommended the Utillian 421 and color me impressed. Went through two bowls and what a different experience. First time trying a vape and I’m in love.

Let’s see how this develops but I can see myself rolling a lot less.

  6. So weekend away and things are running as they should. Temperature stabilizing around 24 gives me hum of 60. Best I can do without a dehumidifier.

Plants are a lot happier after a couple of days.

In the veg space on top it’s running a bit Cooler and humidity around 70.

  7. Ok. So more experimentation. Better get this over with.

Settled on going for temp 23-25. Looks like hum Will behave, let’s see what happens overnight.

At around 3:30 I kicked on the heater and went on the school run, got back to a flower box of 40 C. Perhaps the fancy vpd Calc is risky as the trigger relies on movement.

New plan: try and stabilize temp around 24. Hum seems to come down to better levels as well there.

Last bit was me opening the flower box to work on the girls. Temp dropped to 17 and hum shot to 70%.

All I have to do now is close the box and it should settle.

    Update tomorrow

  8. Temp gun next time.

Currently seeing how far I can push this. The temp sensor is the little white box on the orange pot. At least now my temps won’t drop to 17 and hum hopefully far away for 70

  9. Thanks for the input. After a long day of not focusing on work and reading g up on vpd, I came to the following experiment as I understand it.

This is for the flower box, according to the charts. Early flower is 0.8-1.2. Late flower is 1.2-1.6.

After lots of trial and error I managed to get the shortcuts to do the vpd calculation!!

The fan heater also dries out the air, so a win win, as I usually sit 60-70.

I’m a little Box the heater took it from 21&70% to 30&32%. Using the vpd calculated from current temp and hum, the fan heater kicks on when it drops to below 1 and off when it reaches 1.5. Let’s see how it goes

Only problem is when to trigger the shortcut? Well I settled on a hack. As there is a small usb fan on 24/7 and the leaves move….. the camera can pick up movement as a trigger. BOOM
