  1. There was a fire at a substation and ive been without lights since 6pm yesterday. They havent yet assessed the damage, so im not sure how long the lights will be out. I ran a backup light for 12 hours and temps dropped to about 9 deg. Hopefully power can be restored today.
  2. No problem bro.. no offense taken at all (and yes i love to fiddle haha), i just want any solution that works. What do you suggest? biobloom? Or can i get away with just using molasses and compost tea? (i throw a tablespoon of kelp and a tablespoon of microbes into my compost tea) If compost tea and molasses alone will do the job perfectly, then ill use that alone.. I was just worried that i was lacking P in my feeding plan and thought that id rather go organic since it will reduce the likelihood of overfeeding etc...
  3. I also read now that the active ingredient in the "PH down" powder that im using is sodium phosphate.. so maybe its not necessary for me to add too much phosphate.. Not sure what the concentration etc is though.. Maybe ill just get a small amount of some sort of slow release option like rock phosphate and sprinkle on top of my soil, together with the "ph down" when watering. Just a thought... Im just thumbsucking this.. so if this isnt going to work, then someone pls correct me lol.
  4. Anyone use this as a phosphate additive? "Super Phosphate" Id prefer not to use bone meal, for personal reasons Here is another one im looking at as well
  5. Thanks bud.. every bit of info helps. I was thinking of doing similar to you as well.. but not sure if i should go for the biobloom, or rather for something more natural that has higher K and P content. If im not mistaken, I think molasses has good amounts of Potassium, as well as calcium and magnesium. Just not sure if i need to add anything else with higher phosphorus concentration.. Below is the chemical compostion of molasses as found online, to get a rough idea: Minerals Calcium ----- 205 mg --- 20% Iron -------- 4.7 mg --- 26% Magnesium --- 242 mg --- 61% Phosphorus -- 31 mg ---- 3% Potassium --- 1464 mg -- 42% Sodium ------ 37 mg ---- 2% Zinc -------- 0.3 mg --- 2% Copper ------ 0.5 mg --- 24% Manganese --- 1.5 mg --- 77% Selenium ---- 17.8 mcg - 25% Vitamins Thiamin -------- > 0.0 mg -- 3% Niacin ------------- 0.9 mg -- 5% Vitamin B6 ------- 0.7 mg -- 34% Pantothenic Acid - 0.8 mg -- 8% Choline ---------- 13.3 mg - ~ Sugars (55.5 g) Sucrose 29403 mg Glucose 11919 mg Fructose 12791 mg
  6. Thanks bud, i was also aware of the high nitrogen content, but thought that it may be fine to use for the first 2 weeks. Will rather leave it out if theres any risk it can cause any problems. Looks good.. i was actually trying to get some vermicompost / worm castings last week for my tea but had no luck finding it locally.
  7. Hi guys, i just need some advice/guidance regarding nutrients and watering shedules during the flowering stage. please.. This is what i was thinking of doing for the first 2 weeks: -1st watering - Compost tea (Compost, Molasses, Liquid Kelp, Seagro Fish Emulsion) - 2nd watering - Plain water / should i add Fertilizer or is it too much? -3rd watering - Plain water only Repeat Is the above plan ok? What fertilizers can i start using after week 2 or 3 of flowering? Is kelp and fish emulsion still ok to use once it starts producing buds, or is there another better one? Maybe BioBloom? Or something natural that works well perhaps? Will then only start exclusively using plain water for the final 2 weeks as ive read that it can make for a harsh smoke if not flushed before harvest..
  8. Thanks guys, will try to a make a plan with it and keep it out of the main lights way
  9. On the spec it says 47db, I think my current fans are similar. Would your model work well in a space like mines? I found a silent one online l, but it's about 1.9k for one
  10. Nope not really bro. I left the door ajar yesterday and temps were 100%. Going to get some proper inline fans and give those a go.. This fan (100mm)
  11. Weekly update pics. Switching to 12/12 tomorrow morning.
  12. Haven't gotten around to cutting that opening yet. I don't have the power tools so I have cut out the opening with tin snips and was a lazy weekend lol. I need some advice with regards to intake and exhaust fans please? There's a lekker silent inline fan I found online that's 180m3/h Grow space is 0.8-1m3 Current fans r 90m3/h Will 180m3/h fans make a difference? Added: And Ive been brewing a compost tea since yesterday. I'll water tonight. Not sure if I should dilute further or not.. I'll just take a chance and give at full strength. Going to trigger flowering tomorrow, or I can even start tonight tbh... Was thinking 19:00 - 07:00 or 20:00 -08:00 I'm currently on 18:00-12:00
  13. Temps are looking slightly better, but still hitting 28 deg - 29 deg. Ill monitor for a day or two and maybe cut a passive intake opening this weekend. Also, is this a good time to brew a compost tea? I was thinking of triggering flowering this weekend, but might veg for a week more.. Added: will first drop the lights and take out the buckets before cutting
  14. It's connected 24/7 via the temp controller. I have a strong feeling that the heater is maintaining a temp of 26 and then the lights are pushing it up to 30. I was thinking that it was strange that I was getting similar temps in cold days that I am now.. Will see if setting controller to 22 deg makes a difference, maybe it's just a false hunch or sense of hope from my side Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk
  15. What I've also noticed now, is that my thermostat was set to maintain a temp of 26 deg, I've dropped that now to 22 and will see if it makes a difference. I will kick myself if it does! Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk
  16. Thanks bro, I do have some netting lying around. Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk
  17. About the fan blowing directly at the pot.. Its the mini air cooler I just put in today, but it's not making much of a difference with temps haha.. On the bright side it had both my hygrometer showing 40% unlike yesterday
  18. OK bro, I'll make some this weekend. I'm just worried about light leaks but I'm sure ittl be fine if I make the holes at the back or bottom
  19. Thx bro, I think I'll drop it first and see if things improve. If not, I'll make some holes. I use heater to sustain temps when lights off.
  20. Maybe by removing the buckets at bottom, it won't as stuffy in there..? Here's how it looks in there currently. Excuse the wires and the bad pics. Was moving things around, hence the loose wires everywhere (plus I can never work neatly haha) and I sealed the left door from the inside, so the angle I have take pics is limited lol It seems to me like the temp under the current pot height is slightly lower than pot height...
  21. How big of a hole would be effective guys? 200-300mm? Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk
  22. I'm considering maybe cutting out a hole at the bottom or at the back of my cabinet. Would it make a big difference in the right direction? Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk
  23. Hey bud, yes I've got a fan blowing directly on top and under the light since last night. Would I need to get another intake and exhaust fan? Or only exhaust will suffice? I don't have any passive air intake Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk
  24. I did add a second fan yesterday for circulation and positioned it in the area between the light and the plants. I also just went to get a small evaporative cooler (I just couldnt sit still lol) . Will hook it up and check if it cools the area without sending the humidity out of control. Might kill 2 birds with one stone since my humidity seems low anyways...
