Haha, I have the same issue man... Finding some pretty decent games but have no company to game with...Honestly I will pickup anything if I can play with a mate.
Recently I picked up a game called Last Oasis. Binged it a bit and now I am back to indie games like Rimworld.
Was busy downloading the free-to-play COD warzone but during the download process I lost interest
CSGO is an occasional play.
So ja, whatever. Add me on Steam, friend code: 35041124
I find CSGO very limited with what modes you can actually find a match in. Majority of the players are usually on a single match mode and waiting for other matches takes over 10 minutes.
Anthem had potential but honestly doesn't really hold your attention as a game for more than a couple hours. Very repetitive with not that much as you explore.
Other than GTA, I recently have been killing endless hours on Rust that I got off steam. Its awesome, played with friends or alone. People have logged over 1000 play hours on the game, and the nice thing is that the servers get wiped every so often.
I'm over COD for a few months, but I might get Black Ops 3 for online as the player base is still quite huge I believe.

Hello.
I am just considering the Doomsday scenario, and I am curious if anyone has done the math somewhere, on how to get off the grid?
For power: What are the options? Wind + Solar + Battery?
For water: I already get my water from a borehole, I would just need to power it separately.
So has anyone done the math on getting off the grid, perhaps with links and suggestions for products?
(I'm not retreating into post-apocalypse mentality, I've always wanted to do this anyway, PS: Anyone seen the episode of South Africa's orania on Netflix's Dark Tourist?)
Thanks, stay safe out there.
Bro, I've done some math on it if you're interested. Even thought up a breaker system to operate 24hr appliances separate from entertainment & lights, etc all with fused breakers and with the overall circuit grounded.
It was a while back and for future projects but I wouldn't mind trying to go through some of the math again. I'll need to get updated prices though
Solar + battery is the best option right now I feel.

Back with an update!
Okay so it's been a while.
There wasn't much to report on so I waited until I could compile something worth reading.
The Black Fire was looking a bit sad and much smaller compared to the Inzane about a week ago. I just continued to feed them both and on the 3rd of May I decided to do some LST on them. The Black Fire received way more tie downs and she bounced back really well.
The Inzane is experiencing some uneven growth but I'll try to even it out with LST once I transplant them later today.
She may fill out more of the tent by being trained flat so I'll have a look at how she sits before I decide to remove any growth.
I like the structure of the Black Fire better, and I think the Inzane would do better with a true mainline or just being the only one in the tent - she's got too bushy growth and stretches like crazy.
They're both due for a defoliation later today as well, I'll try to make another video like the last one so you guys can see the difference a bit more effectively.
The first 4 images are from the 3rd after I tied them down, and the rest are from just now (first hour into the 6th of May).
Enjoy

Downlight shape are better with a more unidirectional light focus.
I could just cut of the plastic dispersion cup off these ones... I'll do it tomorrow.

I was thinking about this last night.Oh! I saw something that also might help... Those led globes you have in... See if you can't get a fitting with a less omni directional disperser...
Downlight shape are better with a more unidirectional light focus.
I considered making some out of a sun-visor for now, like little cone shaped ones to fit around the bulb as is instead of having to cut open the bulb and fix a new reflector to it.
I also thought of moving the bulbs to the corners of the fixture instead of along the sides (besides lowering them which I still have to make alterations for).
I think it would be better if I replaced the 2 x 28w LED bulbs for 6 more Osram led bulbs and have them along sides as well as in the corners.
It would draw 2w less but have a more even coverage.
That UFO is putting out way more light than any of those bulbs so it's making this design a bit more complicated.

Thanks for this ... I didn't know they released this product. Will check it out.Hydroponic.co.za sells a product called Hydroliq Grow. Its pricey but they say it can be used in flower. I'm waiting to see some reviews before I give it a try.I'm sure the bottle will last a while also

I've tried this... Wire them in parallel to a 12v power adapter with an Amp rating slightly higher than the sum of all the fans you want to run off it.@Roasty did you just use old pc fans for intake and exhaust . If so how did you wire them ?

Yea what's uuuuuup! Okay, because it's what you have at the moment, I'm not gonna elaborate on the point of you needing a better light blah blah... You already know this much... I'm going to focus on how best to use the thing.
First up... Nice innovation hehe it looks cool enough
2nd up, all those lights have different intensity and usefulness in a veg environment, but for it to be more efficient, you need to create as even canopy of light as you can. Best way to do this is download a basic lux app onto your phone, and test each of the globes at a distance of 30cm. For best results you would like to maintain a constant output over a large area as apposed to high concentration in a small area and little elsewhere. So adjust the lights heights so that you can attain this, you might find you will need to either raise or lower the household LED's
Next, you need to be able to adjust the light higher and lower with relitive ease because they will need to be about 30cm above the canopy of your plants at all times.... Seedlings, maybe 45cm if the fitting gets hot in any way.
And yea, that's the best advice for your temp light, who knows, maybe it doesn't do a half bad job.
1)nice innovation
2)get the light intensity level as constant as you can across the whole fixture
3)make it easy to adjust regularly
Haha, yeah I know, I know. I'm saving up for a qb kit and some other bits.
I'd just like to test out having a perpetual grow before I commit. I've had success with each of these lights individually before so I'm seeing how far I can push all of them together.
The bulbs have been used for vegging and cloning before with success, and the plate has vegged and flowered a microgrow with great success.
1) Thank you sir, I try to not buy anything new unless I absolutely need to.
2) Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I was more focused on balancing out the spectrum with the white bulbs so I didn't bother to check if all of them are giving appropriate lux levels for their heights (I say lux because I have no way of testing par). I have a feeling I need to raise the middle plate and lower the white bulbs a bit.
Won't be too much trouble as the whole fixture is made of 4 pieces that can be unscrewed easily.
3) I can raise and lower the fixture easily, there are metal hooks on each corner and a loop of string through all of them, enabling me to change the height.
Thanks for stopping by and helping me out man, I really appreciate it. It's gonna get going pretty soon. By the end of next week hopefully.

My light has a uv diode so I'm pretty sure that helps a lot, but I always make sure that there's enough airflow.Humidity in Durbs is a killer. All the biggest colas on my last plant had mold come harvest late December.
Its essential.. Any stagnant pockets of air or areas with too much vegetation up against each other are prime hotpots for mold.
Unfortunately with dense colas you can't really avoid it if the mold starts from the inside... I'm gonna try some home methods to decrease humidity when it comes time so I'll update on that because I definitely can't afford a dehumidifier. Lol

I believe Formula 1 is coco and perlite, I'd say use 5.9 to 6.3 as your oh range rather.
Once again, you don't have to but I'd let the plant veg for a big longer and get a bit bigger in 20l pots before I flip.
The size of the plants affect your yield as well.
I like to grow my plants out a bit more and then lollipop them, helps with airflow below the canopy and if you're watering my hand makes it a bit easier too as there is a bit of space between to get your watering can in there and not wet the leaves.

Thanks, I'll try those pHs, I wasn't too sure on whether or not to treat it similar to hydro because the grow medium is pH balanced to 6.5
I will let it veg for a bit more, but I can only fit a single 20L pot in the tent at a time so I'm planning to use 2 x 10L pots this round.
I understand how tree size vs bud size works, and I'm not aiming for maximum yield this run. I simply want to taste the strains and make some clones for next harvest.
I have problems with high humidity and temps so I try to maximise airflow around and between the leaves... I plan on lollipopping them after they stretch a bit more. And yes I do water by hand so it makes things much easier.

Cool, thanks for the infoNot really an expert on lighting and things but I have experimented with household bulbs and have veged plants under 3×8w bulbs each, and honestly the plants werent scrawny or excessively stretched out and thats just with 24W of screw ins per plant.
This one is a bit stretchy, but thats just coz i kept the lights higher and was too lazy to move them down.
Then this plant has much tighter nodes and is much bushier
I guess the only way to know would be to experiment for yourself and see if you get the results you're after.
I'm gonna get a fan in there for extraction then have a go at vegging something in the box.

Without having equipment to test the lights, you'd need to try it and see what happens.
I know people have vegged with LED flood lights with good results. I doubt the plants will die, although I think they may stretch a bit more than usual and be a bit scrawny.
If it is your only option, go for it.
Yeah the lack of equipment is a pain.
I know they won't die, I just wanted to see if anyone knew if it would be worth the effort.
I'll try to keep the lights low to minimise stretching and get a small fan for circulation.
Haha, it is my only option other than starting each grow from seed in the same tent.
Thanks

Are they in Coco or soil and what nutes are you giving them?
Do you PH your feed each time before feeding?
What sized pots are those? I am assuming not 20L pots if you're talking about repotting.
I personally would let them get a bit bigger before flipping, upto you though Nothing wrong with flipping now either.
They're in a craft soil mix, has coco in it as well I think. It's Freedom Farms Formula 1.
I do pH every time, but I fluctuate it between 6.2-6.7 over 4 feedings to ensure there's nothing being left out.
They're in 5L smart pots right now, going into 10L ones.
I do plan on letting them get bigger, and I don't plan to train them much anymore. I've found that they grow quite rapidly when undisturbed so I'll see where they're at close to the end of week 6.

These were feminised seeds bro... I'll drop you a message.I have always wanted to grow out this strain. Unfortunately I dont have the space to grow a bunch of regs looking for 1 or 2 females. Hoping someday to find a clone.Anyway subscribed for the pretty pics.

So I gave them a light defoliation last night around 10 or 11.
My lights run from 14:30 to 08:30 to keep the temps a bit lower, and I did do the defoliation much later than I wanted to.
The Inzane is going along as expected but the black fire has very uneven growth. I'm still keeping to my time line and I plan to flip to 12/12 in the next week and a half.
There isn't much more training to do so I may transplant them before flipping to help them settle in a bit better.
The pictures were taken not too long ago, and here's a link to a short video of the process;

That's a valid concern. Sorry for not cautioning you about it first.I am just worried about introducing anything funny into the grow environment, like some stowaway pests or something silly.
I'll work something out and tag you in my grow diary with the solution
Sure man, I like watching other grows so I'll sub as well.

Thanks man... Hopefully he comes along with some info.On paper it seems like it would be powerful enough. Reminds me of @CreX's Frankenstein Nova build. I rate he would be able to tell you how far these lights will get you.
I've vegged and flowered a tree with just the led plate in the middle when I ran my microgrow. I haven't tried to use these older lights in a bigger box so I'm not too sure what to expect in terms of if they're going to give me leafy, stretched out growth.

Honestly, for this comment and anyone that wants to ask about how those kind of pics didn't make it.
As someone just viewing the forum and participating, I feel that those images are awesome, yes, but there isn't something uniquely memorable about it.
You may have taken time and put in effort to take the picture, but honestly it looks like a good advertisement picture for a strain against a black background, which isn't anything out of the ordinary, and isn't that original either.
Don't get me wrong, they're beautiful pictures. But this is a competition to judge a winner, not who has the best photography setup.
I shoot all of my pictures on my phone and sometimes find myself almost all the way on the ground to find that right angle, lol. So I'm pretty bummed I didn't make nominations either.
Just enjoy the spirit of the competition peeps. Who knows, maybe you'll win the next one.
I'm a new member here and mean no disrespect, just thought I'd share my opinion as it may make a difference.
