Has anybody used the pH testing kit from Hortishop?

I have used it to test my water but Im not sure if the results are right.

Iv followed the instructions on the bottle. When I tested my tap water the colour was blueish green. According to the colour chart supplied with the solution blueish green indicates pH 8-9

Surely this cant be right. I drink this water everyday! lol

Even when I let the water stand over night I still get the same result.

Is there something I may be doing wrong?

Any help/tips will be greatly appreciated.

I ordered some White Widow seeds from 710 Genetics.

Based on my research, WW is a good strain for beginners and should have that energetic sativa buzz that I love.

710 Genetics have not been around that long though, but I've read enough good reviews around the interweb to trust them

I really wish I could buy seeds from the trusted, international breeders but we know that our postal service is broken so we can't really just buy online cos you will probably never get your shipment. (Has anybody ordered internationally recently with any success?)

I do not have any friends living overseas, nor do I know anybody who can give me clones. Growing from seeds is my only option here.

I got all my equipment and consumables already, but missing the most important thing - THE SEEDS! lol -  the plan was to plant my seeds at the start of Feb

Keeping my circumstances above in mind, what are my options at this point?

Only GSR? - I have read some bad reviews but hey, if this is my only option..

Any suggestions and advice will be much appreciated

Im a bit confused now lol...

I thought growing in coco/perlite was regarded Hydro and growing in soil was Organic

I will be growing strictly for my own personal use.

What I want to achieve is healthy plants that are gonna produce a decent, not massive, amount of buds.

That fan mounted to the door is genius!

I think I will do the same to save space.

I am in CPT...I actually used to work in Kenilworth and I know exactly where the Hortishop is, will pay them a visit on Monday.

The R/O water at OASIS for R1.20 a litre just about solves my water query. Nice!

Im still doing research regarding nutes. Do you have any recommendations? Or does it depend on which strain Im gonna grow?

One more thing...

I am looking to buy square plant pots. Do you perhaps know where I can find some? Iv been to a few places but they only have the round ones.

Hydroponic SA sells 50/50 pre mixed coco/perlite

Im a beginner, about to start my 1st grow and this seems perfect for me. Can anybody tell me if there are any disadvantages with buying a pre-mix instead of mixing it myself?

Another cuppla questions I have:

How would I know the pH level of the water?

What is reverse osmosis water?

When mixing nutes in water, do I mix the whole lot at once in a big container and use of it for the duration of the grow, or do I just mix small amounts everytime I feed the plants?

As this is my 1st grow iv decided im gonna go with autoflowering seeds. I have seen some advertised at Green smoke Room, however, from what i have read on here, buying internationally is the better option.

Do you already have seeds? Could you perhaps recommend a good place for me to buy from?
