So I dont have much, or any experience myself on the subject yet but im half way through my first autoflower grow and I had many of the same questions before I popped these seeds.
I can tell you so far these plants of mine are 12 weeks old now from seed and they still have some way to go before they are ready for harvest, however the breeder says 10 weeks from seed. (probably been about 6 weeks in flower)
Though ive seen some tiny autos that flower from like week 2 and end up done at week 10.
Personally when it comes to trichome maturity though, I think its more dependent on the strain and/or pheno you end up with than Auto vs Photo
I too am curious to know more though...

Are they getting same amount of water? The 2 in the front seems a bit droopy compared to the 2 in the back. Maybe they want more water? Hopefully one of the more experienced growers can clarify.
I still think the all look good man.
Thanks man! I actually took those pics shortly before watering, but the leaves weren't really drooping. The problematic plant, bottom left was a bit, but its been like that since seed

I've seen some rosin presses locally going for like R15k, and that was for what looked like a very entry level, simple unit.
Really hoping someone comes up with some sort or rental model. If I could rent one for a day every couple of months I'd be stoked!

I suspect that it's more to manage the voltage or something - I'm no electrical engineer, but I believe these rows are usually wired up in parallel and the red and purple led's might run at slightly different voltages
Either way, I think the spread will be fine since im covering a small area and hanging about 60cm above canopy in flower.
Ill also be getting another 1 or 2 engineering samples from a buddy who is experimenting with some of osrams new horticultural LED's. So that'll cover the other half of my tent nicely

So this grow has been underway for some time already but I've got all the baby photos so here's a recap.
Strain: White Widow (Auto)
Freedom Farms soil
200W LED
1.4x1.4m tent
About a two weeks from germination.
Two weeks later
Week 5 - Bottom left plant seems to be suffering from some sort of deficiency
Week 6 - Plant bottom left still showing strange symptoms, believe its a genetic mutation or something at this stage
Back left still leading the pack since the start! She is the first to show some pistils!
Week 8 - all plants showing pre-flowers now, back left is moving fast into flower
As you can see, front left is still looking pretty strange, however she's almost as tall as the biggest one ...

lol thanks guys! Will see if I can post some pics later today
@PsyCLown as in Quantum Board style, though I only say that because I'm not sure how else to classify this type of LED array? It seems the community adopted "Quantum Board" to describe a PCB stacked with a large amount of LED's?
Anyways, here is a link to the light I'm using (https://jves.co.za/other-products/led-growlights/cree-led)
Perhaps a little pricey but it's produced locally and local is mos Lekker! (Good build quality IMO too)
Edit: Apparently I can't spell quantum board...
