  1. I find that suction cup dont stick for long
Agreed. It helps a bit. Overall the shrouded airstone is just a pain. Wrap it around my pump cable and hope for the best. Not as shitty as air curtains but close

  2. I think we have dwelled away from the fact that 'white' light is a combination of spectrums not a spectrum on its own.
The blurple revolution has rapidly eaten its words and moved back to cool warm configurations.
What standard white are you referring to?

  3. I did a dead simple hole in bucket lid and drill holes in pot. Didn't even bother with hydroton. Just used perlite and rinsed lekker.
Stay away from clear tubing.light creates mould.
My little ornamental chilli running happy as a pig in poo.
Never been ph'd, straight out the tap. running on a mix of hydro nutes I had in a box and didn't want to chuck.

  4. So i contacted AutoCobs yesterday and unfortunately he does not ship to SA anymore due to the high shipping costs.
There is an importer on another forum that may be able to help. Will get details

  5. Not a cob. But I reckon I have Frankensteined a decent clone light together.
    2 cheap ass t8 1.2m 36w attachments.
    Gutted one and combined
    74w 15k lumens at 20cm

Forgot I have a 50w Chinese cob on an overkill heatsync. Will chuck that in too32be0e1f85b5d828b7a5be20382e518d.jpg

Personally, if you are able to construct it yourself, I would go with that option.

oh absolutely, that's first option. but sourcing all the components and waiting on shipping isn't my cup of tea. i have fluffy buds on my no 1 choice plant in veg.
moved my led panel over her but am now leaving my other lady at a disadvantage.

2x2m cannot be covered effectively by 2x 400w and a 360w led panel sadly, leaving me on the back foot.

i have reflector lamp and wiring, but the ballast pushes it out of reach and the added heat will kill my current ventilation

also, cooltubes suck balls, where does all my light go you tubular son of a cunt

Awe @Q9550, the okes are right with DIY's, growopz does well with his LED's but something so simple shouldn't have to cost you arms and legs.

looking at his single vero29 cob fixture and component pricing retail works out pretty similar assembled

  8. i still have nighmares about bubble bags, walls of green tinted ice sloshing in ....lord what a ballache. great if you have a plant or two, get a bucket or two of trim and start ... you will alternate between stirring , mopping and buying ice for a weekend solid

  9. cfls suffer from severe light loss over distance, requiring them to be closer to the canopy. overall they are a very inefficient way of growing, veg should do fine depending on plant totals but flower will fall flat or produce fluffy airy buds.
In honesty though, you would get a  better result out of a 250w hps/mh combo in my opinion, again, plant number and space dependant

It's still a topic for debate. There is ones who says yes and ones that say no. I understand the reason behind not doing it but I also understand the logic when doing it so I kinda fucks with me when I do apply some defoliation. I defoliated my outdoor few weeks back and she is again bushy.

Will post update pics soon on my thread. Just dis not have time for any extra time

outdoor is a different ballgame, the lights and fans are second to none 🙂
indoor i tend to mess heavily with my plants all along training etc but second week of flower it goes into bud mode. suppose its diffeent timing same technique, i shave them legs before they hit the scrog

  11. Second week may be a bit too rigid but I tuck and weave my new growth almost daily in week 1.should slow down after week 2 at least. I'm not a fan(pardon the pun) of deflation in flower
