  1. Yet another late night update.

Barney's lsd seedling has joined the party. 1 of 7 to pop. Store you seeds properly from day 1. Lost genetics suck balls.

Res pump bubbler and piping done for watering system. Flora grow caps are too small as expected.but everything else works well. Pump drains the res in less than 10 min so will play with flow rather a little. I'm eyeing my catering tray drip tray experiment failure from a new perspective. Perfect size for a diy cap and a soldering iron will sort flow quickly.

    Think like water Mcb... Flow

Wall mounted my ballasts timer and powerstrips. New watering system floods are bad enough without being life threatening.... Power high water low folks... Always.

Work in progress, pardon the cabling

Can't wait to see the new setup in action.

I can honestly say that after a week of 5pm to 2am of setup I'm dik of building, scribbling pictures and buying bits

That said next run will have some tweaks

Its always heart wrenching when a piece goes down, if its been in the family long and you have sentimental value to it, i'm very sure that bongalong can do a repair on it.

But i get the 1am fiddles, when i also have a bright spark i like to implement it as soon as i can.

well the repair option hit me this morning on the way to work, i cant say i was overly gracious when it fell, i will admit to being in socks and slops and it was , for lack of a better term, p03skak. so i didn't really look for all the bits. then again, a gold repairs to ceramic ala kintsugi would look fecking epic.

i generally don't sleep much but the tent upgrade has me scribbling designs down at all hours, i travel for a weeks at a time and this thing has got to be reliable, easy, clearly labeelled, straight forward and most importantly safe.

so i'm a little obsessive, to the point i didn't eat last night, walked into the house at 9pm after the scrog work and watering mockup, got busy with wiring the new timer(led panel doesn't switch off entirely on old analogue timer, constant low power glow!) and by the time i looked again it was 12 and i have been replaying the grand tour s3ep3 for hours....

ITS TIME!!!! For the Maaaaaaaain Event Of the evening :classic_cool:  In the red corner, weighing in at a 55kg, 10x20m, 200mm thick Anti Drip Greenhouse Plastic!!!!!

The last post you would see its late afternoon as we finished up with the last uprights and cross bracing, me and the boys said screw it the plastic is going on tonight!!!!

This is just as we got it over the structure being held down by wood sitting on it on the outside......but we first had to do a very important thing before cladding it all down ☝️

So with the sun setting and working with mozzies chowing us left and right the wasint much time for taking photos in this phase.

i did manage to snap a very scientific picture of showing the condescension on the plastic while we were working.

                                                                                                       IMG_20190105_204003.thumb.jpg.e234100c0df9978af3bd3e6921eaaad3.jpg

We cladded the sides of the plastic down and left the front for the morning as she wasn't going anywhere.

For those who have been following along till this point, I am very happy to show the finished Greenhouse Structure, Still some internal work to be done but for external she is finished :-rolled

Front is Double cladded with 38x15mm strips all round to be 100% sure that plastic ain't going anywhere. The sides were cladded from inside the GH.

                                                                    IMG_20190106_144801.thumb.jpg.2483b600b19f1ea6ff15fcb2ada0c09e.jpg

Now for the fun work to begin :-flyinghi

liking the post just doesn't cover it dude, fucking epic

Thanks Pat, been too damn long struggling with half measures.
Spent way too much money trying to "find a cheaper way" and costing myself time, energy and double the money of doing it properly once off.

i think that's why i'm so sensitive to the " just get seagro bro" growers, i was one.

granted its not a credit card fuelled all out ,dual plenty seven watt arachnid branded led in a brand new tent,or a mobicred sponsored "grow kit" but it is the absolute best i can do on a cash budget, with no shortcuts taken. (no offence to the kit buyers, just saying this isn't one)

Props to a really good friend for all the help, and patience while i plodded through my "i bet i can build this cheaper" phase.

Mentality changed somewhere, very glad it did.if i'm doing, this i'm doing this to the best of my ability, with as little redo as possible.
lol, thinking back to my bagseed trials years ago, between paranoia, bad growing and cheapy diy everything, i vegged 4 grows before successfully flowering anything

  7. new toys new toys.... hps lamp and a spare picked up, octo bubbler ,water pump, tubing, timer and flora grow caps.

needed a diffused, semi automated watering system quickly, that can be managed by someone less, erm, resourceful in the ways of bodgery than i

Considered a drip system and stumbled across the flora caps, now they are only 6" in a 40l fabric pot R40 a pop they will do better than most drip emitter at getting good even coverage.

    Proposed watering system:

    • 200l primary tub, with air pump and  stone - receives tap water, bubbles for 24hrs+ to de chlorinate
    • 70l secondary nute tub with 700l\h pump - manual fill to 40l from primary(for now, will add float valve with tap)
    • manually mix in bio bizz and either manually turn on and monitor or let the timer pump do its magic

timer settings to get a full 10l watering per pot without flooding and res height vs pump flow will be the biggest challenges i foresee, and i may need a slightly bigger drip tray🤣

  8. firstly, welcome to the forum .

i cant really say i have grown seasonal strains temp wise, more adjusted the environment to suit.
move light cycles to run in the coller times of the day , add fans etc

what are you doing for ventilation, intake, circulation and exhaust.

i have just moved 4 massive plants out of an 80x80x1.8 under 400w hps , temps were running 28'ish on the hot days no aircon

Like I said if there was anyone fitting that profile they would jump . Like I said there could be no one. But supprise supprize. Maybe a forum with less ego bound individuals is the way to go. If you can't handle the fact you walked into it then get out your own way. Im not carrying on like and infant. Just get on with what you do. If this is what you do . Then god or allah help you

So you innocently walk in and bait people by implying your general superiority , with zero backing but your own word, continue to shit in your own hand by talking about pioneering strains, what did you do, discover a long lost strain, do you know what pioneering even means...then you add to your tower of turd with some bs about, again, unproven 4mil buck deals...now you clap ,wonder why your face is full of shit and play victim because no one told you not to... no buddy, the world doesn't work like that.
i agree a less ego bound forum is the place for you, maybe start one, to fit that ego of yours, add a few bots, may get lonely

  10. Dude, you started your first post ever with this:

Ok Lets school some people before some air heads keep us stuck in a 3rd world, you tube education nation.

the response immediately evoked was " who the fuck are you buddy", the response given however was  generalising  and humorous

you immediately alienated yourself against a forum of ,in your words, "air heads"

there were no "offenders", only respondents to your offensive statements

Race card you say:classic_ohmy: that's rich, so far you are the only person to even allude to race....

I bet that the buntu educated also think cutting costs will bring them yeild?

I think i speak for a few members here in saying that due to your intro, your geographic location and history thereof are of little importance, where how and what you pioneered is irrelevant to the discussion and whatever facts you may have had were delivered so badly they are skewed

Was also thinking the exact same thing. Maybe just put them on a timer to go on in mid day when the sun is over head for that hour or so?

But they will be fitted in a way that they can be removed in flower stage for sure. :-thumbsup

that's seems to me like engaging nos when free falling down a cliff, you are already at your peak, that's when you don't want to use power for light.
Supplemental would be used for a) light cycle management b)specific spectrum  boost(over the sun, meh) and worst case c)solar eclipses
bare in mind, that retaining light cycle and growing under said extended cycle are two different things

Thinking about it you may just want to put a few CFL lights in . Those large light boxes are going to block the sun.... just a though

i do think they could make a decent propagation shelf or 3

there's 1 benefit to my current setup, i accidentally pulled the duct of the extractor mid day, lights on, relying only on intake and ventilation and was hovering at 27' lights on at 25 ambient.

honestly my tent is more pleasant than  my house temp wise some days

LoL I had to save some money up to afford my new things I want

i had the money, and spent it on other grow bits when the box was a reality, then saved it up again, no stock, stock finally arrives... no 1.5x1.5's and only mammoths at twice my budget... a buddy saved my ass with the 2x2. would still be battling with temps and space if it wasn't for his help.
ironically, i finally found a 1.5x1.5 so once its boxed and shippable i will have a spare for a cycle😆

its called the "black friday tent stock shortage" training method
basically you put off ordering a tent until they are all sold out because a buddy is building you a box, then he flakes because "its too big to transport" and you now have 4x40l monster pots in a 80x80 tent😂
