  1. I'll definitely keep that in mind. I so excited to see how the changes from last grow translates to the quality of the flowers.
  2. Thanks a lot for including your application rate bro. Just wondering, do your plants finish with a fade. Last grow i top dressed pre flower with bone meal, kelp and talborne red....my leaves stayed green all the way to the end except for one of my girls that was in a pot too small for its size. I really want to get the hang of this and have a feel for my soil. Its so difficult to guage when my tank(medium) is running low in terms of nutes. Im still learning ny soil....what ive learnt is that it takes so long for things to break down in organics, so almost as if i need to anticipate deficiencies.
  3. I learnt it this grow man. Had to give two of my girls a bit of a flush to help with the nute burn. You can def burn plants with these. Alfalfa & kelp...going light is better, these can burn if over applied. Alfalfa prob the most likely to fry your babies
  4. I heard good things about Jamies elemental blend. Nice diversity of amendments lik3 a buffet and seems simple enough. Im in johannesburg and with petrol increases - shipping rates and even product prices just shot up. Its R235 excluding shipping. Willl defintiely give it a try in the future but for now will use what i have. and keep some cash for some new genetics.
  5. Hey there fellow growmies. Thought I'd share what ill be doing for my top dress before going into flower. I have been growing in a super soil mix which I amended and cooked before planting. This will be the ladies first and only top dressing. I am sure there are lots of growers out there who are feeling the pinch of electricity hikes and overall high cost of living. I try to save where i can and diy, making the most of what i have. KNF has been a revelation and im really seeing a big difference this grow using just a little of its practices. My initial planting mix, along with other amendments, was tailored for veg so i used the Talborne organics vita veg. I wss surprised at how much power it had...still no deficiencies showing up. I inculated some biochar with a mixture of EM-1 (Lab) ,mollases and water at a ratio of 1:1:200. Its been sitting for about one and a half weeks. Hopefully my attempt at a bokashi kinda aid will assist with the breakdown of nutrients. I want those feeder roots to come to the top, dance and have fun with my bennies haha. The biochar, once innoculated will be mixed with compost(quarter mushroom compost, half vermicompost and one quarter compost from my compost pile, some left over supersoil. I will then add the following: - Bone meal -kelp meal -home made crab meal -insect frass -Talborne oragmics Vita Fruit and flower (red bag) Im not sure whether or not to add soft rock phosphate as its what i have on hand for a different phosphorus source. Id like your guys input. I would like for these amendments to break down and my ladies to finish with a fade. Open to top dress recommendations that wont cost an arm an a leg. I have a lovely mulch layer covering my pots of leaf mould from difference areas (my attempt at getting some diverse microbes going). Im currently not using any bottled nutes. I feed with bio dyne microbes, labs and aloe juice periodically. Id like my top dress to carry me to the end but allow a good flush and fade on my ladies.
  6. Thanks so much for the reply bud. I honestly thought this thread had died. Reslly appreciate your help. I've been seeing much better results this grow leaving my soil to dry out even more than im accustomed to. Better root growth and overall faster growth of the plants. I really love growing in soil and i wish i can master it someday and produce high quality, clean medicine just like you pros. This community is great btw, especially sinc3 my grow operation is a secret from most people apart from my wife and a couple of friends. Im the only grower in my circle.
  7. Thanks Skunk. Im in 5 litre pots atm as well, i want to get this right before i transition into my final pot. Any chance you could post a pic of your ladies?
  8. Btw im running a bit of an experiment with two different soils...one is a coco based super soil and the other is a soil mix blended with peat moss. I find that the peat moss soil gets hella hydrophobic, being difficult to saturate when allowed to almost fully dry out.
  9. Good day growmies. Hope that you guys are all doing great and in high spirits. I have a bit of a dilemma with conflicting information online and could really use some guidance. This is my second grow and one thing i want to be perfect is my wayering habits that will enable to build a solid root system, but still keeping my micro herd alive and kicking. Do you guys let the soil dry out completely between waterings(water again when the pot is very light) ? Or do you water before it reaches the point of being bone dry? I know that dry conditions will reduce the microbial poppulation in the soil. I need some help - i dont wanna kill what i worked so hard to build.
  10. Im really looking forward to learning from all the experienced growers on here. My interest in gardening was sparked by my late grandmother whom i always helped in the garden. Ive been growing vegetables and ornamentals outdoors on my own for the past 2 years, but this Im new to growing my own medicine. I suffered a serous accident a couple of years ago which almost left me paralyzed. The accident required surgery and inserting of prosthetics. I was not happy at all with quility of medicine i was getting , and i also i had no clue whereit came from or what went into it. One of the reasons i chose to grow my own. No looking now! Made tons of mistakes from burning seeds to overwatering. I harvested two autoflowes being an amnesia haze an OG kush, one of which finished off the size of my middle finger We live and learn right Currently running the following photoperiods in an indoor grow setup with very basic equipment as im on a budget: -Dirty Kush breath , Frosted apricots(in house genetics) -gorilla glue -gelato -Golden Cheese (Farmacy seeds) Dont think my lights are poweful enough. Im using a chinese led with two panels from my herb stand for supplemental light. Had a super long veg, and ended up with small plants. Here are some pics of my girls (dont laugh). Im honestiy just hoping to get to the finish line of my first grow. Hopefully i dont make the same mistakes on my next run. I only recently(final weeks of flower) used a lux meter and found that im so far below the light levels required and i feel like kicking myself. Id appreciate recommendations for a budget friendly light for my grow? Thanks for the welcome. Its great to be part of a growing community like this. Haha my wife is sick of listening to my cannabis tales
