So the couriers just dropped my seeds off which means I'm the official "laat lammetjie" . Thanks for the weekend's grace @420SA and community In light of this I'll start my diary off with my planned approach and then figure out how to deal with losing about 2 weeks of veg . My thinking here is to cause as little stress as possible, meaning final pots with LST and no topping. My germination strategy would be dropping the seeds into luke warm water until the morning after which all 3 will go straight into peat pellets. I'm going to use my 3D printer bed and set it to 30deg for a makeshift heat mat to give them a cozy welcoming. Once they've sprouted and roots have shown they'll go directly into their respective final pots. My normal growing method is hydro and I'm going to free up 2 slots by potting my current grow into fabric pots and then try my hand at organic with the last bean (successful germination permitting). My current grow is only 4 weeks into veg now so they should recover... right? For my hydro I'll be using my usual T.A. (GHE) Tri-Series regime but this time including Environoc 401. I'll be keeping... loosely... to the feeding charts minus about 25% and then adjusting thereafter according to their needs. A comment by @CreX somewhere in my travels here got me interested in "bioponics" and I've since started incorporating Environoc 401 in my other tent with some positive results. Definitely think this is my hydro route I'm following here. As for my organic grow I'll be using T.A Pro Organic along with Environoc 401 and MycoRoot in Freedom Farms soil and fabric pots. My set up for this grow will be a 120x70x165cm tent with an old style BestVA LED drawing about 240W at the wall, hopefully I'll be able to invest in a QB before flower . For vent I have a 6" inline exhaust fan and a 4" inline intake fan pulling air in from outside. I'm excited for the opportunity to grow alongside and learn from the veteran horticulturists here Let's do this!
  2. Thanks for the offer @Prom that's really cool of you but I'm in PE unfortunately
  3. This is amazing, thanks guys!! Registered and now the big wait. A bit behind the curve but it is going to be fun nonetheless
  4. In that case, let's do it! Rubber arm = twisted Will see if I still have time to get my pack though
  5. Shot for the support guys, I think I'll have to contain myself until next time and plan properly. I'll only have a spot for 1 plant and the rules state to grow 3. My set up is full but I have 1 girl in my tent I accidentally stunted when her roots got entangled in the air stone, so I could put her in a pot and replace her with a new grow
  6. I haven't received a link no, I was hoping to get in by closing. I guess I stumbled upon this great community a little late, maybe next time
  7. Man, I've printed tons of grow paraphernalia with that printer, really handy tool! I have a 6" exhaust fan pulling from both tents and then 2x 4" intakes bringing in outside air for each tent. Was under the impression a you need a bit of negative pressure? My tents do starting sucking in slowly once it's zipped up but not quite "shrink wrapped"
  8. that thought has crossed my mind
  9. Whoa, thanks for that update highchome! Was looking at these lights as well
  10. Thanks man, yea, I put dibbs on that space the first time I saw it, just in case other family members get any crazy ideas
  11. Thanks guys, gonna have a jol here!
  12. Howzit guys, just joined here, awesome to have a local community like this sharing this common interest. I'm looking forward to learning with you guys! Thought a fitting introduction would be to tell you about my grow set up. At the back of my property I have a small 3x3m room attached to my garage which has now become the grow room. I painted it out, coated the cement floor and replaced the glass windows with plexiglass so that I could lasercut appropriate holes for my ventilation. I 3D printed the louvers on the outside as well as the 100/150mm fittings for my ducting. Environment 2x 1.2x0.7x1.7m grow tents Tent 1 = 1x BestVA 1200W (240W draw), upgrade will have to wait a while Tent 2 = 2x Blurple lights (180W draw each), again, these are not ideal but get the job done for now 1x Ø150mm inline fan for extraction 2x Ø100mm inline fans for intake (1 for each tent) 4x Oscillating fans Bug barriers Temp/RH Displays Grow Media Short story: Circulating DWC Long story: I built my own little circulating DWC system with a reservoir for each tent. I have an air pump that has a manifold for 6 outlets so I pump that into each bucket including the res, obviously with a air stone in each. To circulate I sized down the 40mm piping to 12mm and push the water through using a submersible pump. In the net pots I have my germinated seed in a rockwool starter cube and filled with clay pebbles. For nutrients, at the moment, I'm using TA Tri Series, formerly GHE. I got a silica and oxygen boost from @GrowGuru that works pretty well and I finish off with Ripen What's in the box? Currently I have 2x Dinafem Big Kush's in week 2 of flower in the the tent on the right and 2x Dutch Passion Durban Poison in week 3 of veg in the left tent. I guess that's about it for my intro
