  1. June 26 - day 43
About 2 days after #2 got cut back:

About 4 days since the snip and #2 has bounced back pretty well...20210628_195732.thumb.jpg.b87698d13ace459a2be982082801ed12.jpg
In fact #2 bounced back strong enough to get me thinking about what I could still do with #1 + #3 in the veg time left and considering the phase the plant still has to transition through before full blown flowering...hmm get the bong...

A few bongs and a little while later with some garden wire + clothes pegs + tough love to the outer branches =

At the same time as doing this training I cleared up some lower growth (as I'm typing this I can hear someone from the cheap seats at the back chirping my whole plants are lower growth... ja ja.. rustig rustig)...and I've tried to root some snips from #1 and #3 as clones - if I'm lucky I'll have another chance at growing these and push them further in veg. These comp plants aren't gonna yield a ton but gonna follow through with these 3 in the comp as originally intended. Note for the next growoff or for any noobs reading this - germinate on day 1, there isn't time to waste cloning is new to me but if I can just get 1 to root I will be stoked. Lots of great tips on cloning on the forum
    #1.1-1.6 and #3.1-3.6:

But wait I wasn't done with the garden wire... decided to bring the inner branches down to earth as well. 20210629_204511.thumb.jpg.49a2a844a1633bd516f99216474429d0.jpg

    June 30 - day 47
Some okes are growing a canopy... I'm growing a carpet for realzies though, this probably isn't favourable for air circulation and proximity to soil perhaps increases risk of critters but they should stretch a bit once flipped. Let's see what happens.
Looking forward to a FLIPPING lekker Friday.

  2. June 24th - day 41 - 9 days veg left

More of the same with #1 + #3: lightly squeezing the branches before bending them downwards. Removing the odd fan leaf covering growth below it while trying not to remove much at one go.

#2 which was the slowest grower of the 3, received an experimentally-more-aggressive haircut with only 9 days veg left. Interested to see how it responds in the remaining veg time in comparison to the other 2.

    24 hrs after defoilation:

Sometimes #1 & #3 swap positions so they take turns to get the first whiff of the fresh air coming in on the right. #2 getting the ginger-step-child treatment but silently I'm cheering for her.

  3. Day 40

    10 days to flip.

Today they got watered with a light dose of blackstrap molasses introduced for the first time.

    20210623_223937.thumb.jpg.d5fad3b0d73d06689af5819b05edabf0.jpg

1 week of growth (minus me removing the odd fan leaf). I've been pressing the branches downwards by hand to try develop a more flat+even surface for light to land.

  4. Day 37

Plants seem to be enjoying it in their new and final home. 2 weeks of veg left, grow grow grow!

I was going to use neem oil but decided to opt for Buddi All rounder spray as a preventative measure for bugs+fungi- can't say I've used it before but wanted something where I don't risk getting ratios wrong as I only need a small quantity per application.

I have also sprinkled a bit of diatomaceous earth around the base of the plant.

Temp+Humidity sensor moved with the plants to this tent, you can see how this tent is warmer (presumably mostly due to the bigger light) since the move on 16 June. @iGrowDagga there's the divergence you were talking about 😂

    #1 and #3 pulling ahead of #2

  5. Day 33

The 3 Tortonis have moved into the finishing tent and are now under the 340W lighting. Countdown is on... 17 days left to flip.

Before putting the water tray of the tent back in after cleaning, I put some cardboard down underneath it, just to add some sort of insulation between the pots and the floor to try keep temp up.

I plan on introducing neem oil this week as a preventative measure for nasty stuff. Just been watering with occasional activera or liquid gold microbes added.

  6. Love that moving pic.. How you do that shit?
So I have an old phone I setup on a tripod type stand as seen in one of the pics above, and I record a hyperlapse which is set to record 1 second every 60 seconds. I have to keep the phone charging and then I leave it for a few hours - the longer, the better as you will have more action to show.

Then edit the video to speed it up (on my phone I can edit a video and speed it up to 2x at a time, so I do that enough times) until I have it down to 6seconds of video. Then convert that 6sec video into a GIF and set it to loop forwardsbackwards.

    Voila 🤌

  7. Your temperature is trending down. Based on the current environmental conditions your chart is being pressured into a downtrend.
Lets hope the RSI gets an uptick or that the bolinger bands criss-cross.
I'd say hold your position for another week, a trend reversal has to come soon, if not close position and wait for a new entree point to make itself clear.
*don't think anyone on here will think I'm funny, but I've given myself a proper lol here, you may delete if it's not valid

  8. Day 27 since seeds got wet

    Ladies look okay I reckon.

Before moving them into new pots and into a tent a week ago, the leaves on #1 & #2 started drooping and warping a bit - I think down to watering and possibly even too much wind. While their 1st sets of leaves still look a lil droopy, their other sets have perked up nicely since moving into their new homes. I've been watering every 2 days and with a light dose of Acti-vera because a lil Aloe never hurts and I get to feel like I'm giving them something 😂

Despite getting the same treatment #3 didn't show the same damage as #1 and #2 - and seems to be the most vibrant of the lot now. Looks to me like #3/3rd wave isn't here to stuff around and has stepped up as the front runner while the other 2 likely stunted a bit but it is maybe still too soon to call that.

I'm going to clean up the bottom bits and maybe top the ladies this weekend. Might be a bit risky with only 23 days of veg left - I don't know but meh... something about a biscuit and risk 😅

Made some more GIFs of the ladies dancing - roughly 2hrs 15mins condensed into about 5 seconds. Might need to create an account on OnlyFanLeaves.com or something like that20210610_192112.thumb.jpg.dc47270d75c241fb8713787435a7f672.jpg

  9. June 3rd - ladies got moved into 10l pots and into a tent. Was a bit optimistic to think they would have enough height between them and the light where they were.

Light is hanging about 45cm above the plants and is going at 100% now.

  10. 18 days since germination began.

    13 days since they sprouted.

Not sure when you are meant to count from or when it goes from seedling to veg.

32 days to deadline for flipping 👀

#1 still the front runner 20210531_202150.thumb.jpg.5998daa741c39f18b5490112e8a55080.jpg

  11. What's up man!! i couldn't figure out this space after i saw you have a tent hahaha... but its looking good man.
the Mylar is a welcome improvement, and the flags are, lol... likely just in the way other than a light curtain effect to block a bit of light...
if that is its purpose then fine... but if there is no reason to obscure the light, i would just let them be as they are but without the flags... i run my veg like this..(yes okay fine, its because my zips are bust and i cant close the tent lol, but it works just fine)
and then you could maybe put more film on the "ceiling" and the "floor" to give it a finished look.
are you able to raise the Ceiling at all? i would consider it if you are able as i think you might run into issues with height later.
another thing would be to turn those lights wattage up a bit... you really want to curb all stretch in the space you have.

    Hey man appreciate the feedback

Yeah the flags is purely for the eyes - the Ferrari one is just better looking than the black side of panda film which is hanging down the front. The flag is attached to the panda film with clothes pegs. The pegs are useful to hold the film+flag combo out of the way.

Lekker, I will make that ceiling shine with some mylar. I won't be able to shift the ceiling higher without some tools I don't own I think/hope I'm only going to need about 4/5 weeks max but these 3 for the comp will take preference in the tent if this environment is not suitable for them anymore. The 3 plants I have flowering in the tent can finish outside if it gets to that.

Lights have been cranked up a bit I get what you mean - any stretching is going to hurt me in this environment
