I've always been a fan of RAW, not super common though. Usually have to go to a specific tobacco shop to find them, and not every shop has them. Would be great if they replaced that kak king rizla at petrol stations with these.

Alternative to RAW would be OCB. Biggest pro with either are the garrick papers that come with the rizla so you don't have to tear up the actual packaging.

Yup agreed Raw unrefined , it makes a proper king sized joints :-puffpass

@Roasty  alright, thanks. I'll have a look.I did look at GrowOpz earlier but i wasn't really sure what i was looking at,haha. Guess i'll have to do some more research.

With regards to the TS900 ,what would you estimate the yield/Watt to be, from your personal experience?

I think effective coverage about 65x65 cm, I got 2 pineapple glue auto well into flower now, think end yield will be in the region of maybe 80ish grams, if I could I would buy the QB first time, will try and put some bud results so far, not very power efficient if you look at watt/g ratio but I'm happy with results so far, this is my first indoor grow as well, converted now, my buddies all run QBs and their results speaks for themselves, that's my next step

  3. Hi Bud,

With that budget you can get much better lights than those, I got the TS 900 lights it is not the best but can def work, it puts out roughly 200 true watts or so, I would rather go for Quantum Board 150 -200  watts will work better, check Growopz for lights , other light type is COB LED also quite a few floating around locally, a lot of the parts could be DIY if you keen, and you will have plenty change left for some nice seeds.

    Regards

@Roasty did you just use old pc fans for intake and exhaust . If so how did you wire them ?

Hi Bud, no I used and 6 inch bathroom extractor fan which is a bit big and power heavy, my design I incorporated a chimney stack on top of my box with the extractor fan built into the top part, the extractor fan I'm using apparently flows 50l /sec, it is connected to ducting which goes outside my rooms window , I put a intake hole on the bottom of the grow bow, with the door closed and sealed the extractor fan causes negative pressure which in turn pulls in fresh air through the smaller diameter air intake, i need to put a filter of some sort on that, still working on that, so far it has been working very well plants are breathing fine and stacking, haha before i open the box, i just take the extraction duct and stick it in my face and take a few puffs haha.

  5. Agreed with Psyclown, the lights is the most important element rather save just a little more for a legit QB , the DIY part is cheaper if you have spares lying around to build, I built my own box before lock down, I will post link , also at the time could only get a cheapie ebayish light for R2500 advertised as 900 w ,true draw maybe 200w , so far not getting bad results with 2 plants , next upgrade for me is 200 watt QB in a bigger space, also check fellow member Zah's build and results, very impressive

For a single medium size tree, or a few smaller ones, it's worth it.

I felt it was fine, but I know I could've gotten more out of it because I was learning how to grow and experimenting with different training methods at the time when I did pull a harvest out of it.

My first all-in grow started off in this box but the tree got too big for it so I ended up buying a tent.

    If I finished a grow in this 60cm x 60cm box, I estimate I would've came out with about 160g.

The tent she moved into is 70cm x 70cm and I ended up getting 204g dry in the end.

That is a very decent harvest for such as small space, I would be happy with that, hopefully I will be able to get a new set up soon

    I'll take that bait hahaha....

If theres water, there's fish and I'll give it a go. Used to live in George, near the Garden Route dam. Many peacefull days spent plying the waters and many carp.

But enjoy rock and surf and deepsea as well. Tiger fish at Josini on sard was an awesome experience, was a first for me and my eldest son.

Keen shore angler as well and don't mind shark and skate just for fun.

Nothing beats a good joint on a quiet beach as the sun rises over the ocean.

Very Nice Man, I also spent a few years in George, was studing at NMMU at saasveld at the time, many fond memories fishing the area fav was wilderness lagoon, kynsna ( lol used to go visit the Rastas in Juddah Square hectic drive through the township but safe as soon as you step thru their gates lol, right in the middle of the township, used to get some quality indoor there, miss those days, Back in Joburg now, married and have a little one, cant wait to show him one day, in my opinion the most beautiful part of South Africa, very underated!

  8. Sure no probs:-greenthumb with regards to info, the honey cone thing you refer to is the mielie bomb holder, you get it either in plastic, coiled steel spring or plain lead, they all work well , the plain lead holder is better for stealth when the fish are skittish and caught often, rig wise I keep it simple slide mielie bomb holder onto mainline, tie swivel on end, add a lighter length of hooklink material tie on hook ( freshwater size; 2,1 or 0.8 is perfect for general carp, smaller is usually does the trick), keep it short 10-12cm hook trace length , so you can pin the bait to the mielie bomb once it has been made, hooks just use 1, less tangles and mess, bait wise like you said mieliepip ( Koo Tin) use the juice from tin to add to mieliebomb mix cast it out, put it on the stand, add bite indicator to line ( policeman) and wait, the carp will 90% of the time hook themselves and run with this rig, have caught hundred on carps like this.

    Nice @Roasty

Do you fly fish? What other species do you fish for?

Caught this beautiful piece of indigenous gold early last month (safely released). Can't wait to get back on the water once the lockdown is over...hopefully

Wow beautiful, bar of gold, unfortunately of all kinds of fishing I do, fly is not one of them ... got a fly set up just gathering dust in the fishing room, I have caught many nice yellows only on bait though, i will fish any water fresh or salt , any tactic to catch some fishies, i have a huge arsenal of equipment for papgooi , match fishing ( feeder tip), specimen, bass , lures , Rock and surf .... it has been one of the biggest passions for me besides Mary Jane , in fact the 2 go hand in hand, my fishing sessions always include smoking a fat joint as the sun cracks the horizon, the peace, calmness and clarity is second to none for my soul:-rolled
