  1. It's starting! Thanks guys! It's in the FF and I only give tap water at the moment, but read what you said about nutrients and filter water, I'll buy the nutrients and monitoring pens and stuff on payday, but so glad to see at least one seed come up, my other seeds are all still soaking. I signed up to flickr with an anonymous email, still struggling to get it to show the pics, been trying since Friday to share this pic, but I'm now just going to try plainly pasting the url without the image codes which hasn't been helpful.....
  2. Bean counter... and a wannabe bud counter:)
  3. And with the concourt ruling and the spring equinox around the corner, I mean, there's good hope in the air
  4. Welcome Nama, good to hear, I'm also new here, but this forum totally kicks ass! Hope you come to dig it as much as I do, the okes on here are great, I'm also here to learn and share my journey. Come on guys, let's give Nama a warm, dank welcome
  5. I hope there's going to be massive representation by the Rastafari community and the dagga community as a whole outside the Concourt. Does anyone know who's organizing marches and what not?
  6. So... What do you guys make of the news about a possible favourable Concourt ruling this Tuesday? Has anyone be able to independently verify this news? I know these are the guys in the know, but I'd feel a lot more psyched if there were more news sources on this
  7. I've chatted to the oke from biltong and buds, he reckons it can still germinate, but said I should actually keep it in water next time till it cracks and then only do the paper towel thing till the tap root shoots out. He's actually really nice and I can't wait to get hold of his seeds when he gets his new shipment arrives. I feel kinda silly not knowing his name...... I told him you guys recommended him.
  8. Just in..... no live stream tonight, but the road trip means a special live show tomorrow. https://youtu.be/hiTN-PLHSRA
  9. The seeds both floated and sank after touching them when the 24 hrs was up... I'm just gonna go full out on all my seeds that I have Maybe they went bad, but I think I'll order those autos from biltong and buds if nothing happens
  10. :'( no... Nothing yet.... I put it in water for 24 hrs and both seeds sank, put it in the soil and gave water and checked daily if comes up and the soil isn't dried up or too wet. Don't know how much longer I must give it... I do have some more seeds of both....
  11. It's the nature of the beast, brother, it's all about conforming to a conservative status quo. Which really boils down keeping your head down and be complacent and complient ...... i.e. just be a happy little automaton that gets manipulated and controlled by the players.
  12. Ah.... here's this thread, so I got the freedom soil and the breathable potting bag, I think I might just pop in tomorrow...... Is it ok to sommer plant directly in that bag? I'll probably stick it outside and hope for the best.... Or I can first put it in small seed starter container....
  13. Man.....sounds like you guys must have like Ph.Ds or something in dagga! Who knew this dagga plant can get so complicated and exciting!
  14. Ok cool, very interesting..... So I just popped into the hydroponic store, it's like literally around the corner, who knew! And the got EVERYTHING! Wow! But for now, I just bought 1 30L? Freedom farm soil and 1 40L grow baggy thingy. I know you guys said to get the ph thingy and uppers and downers, but I just wanted to see the shop first at least..... Still can't believe it's like almost right behind my home! Anyway, still got the regular lemon haze and durban poison seeds, figured I'd start with one seed....
  15. I know I can google it, but if you can just google stuff what's the point of this forum if you can't ask questions and have convos about this stuff, saying google it is just stifles a discussion. I know I'm new and you're probably tired of answering stupid questions, but if you want this forum to become more lively, this isn't the way to do it, this actually discourages discourse..... Anyway thanks.....
  16. Oh this is just torture..... Can someone explain what this means and how they difffer: Fluxing HST LST Mainlining Scrog Sog Super cropping
  17. Yeah man, share away, I'm just starting to learn and half the time I'm not even sure what you guys are saying, but I'm learning at any rate.....
  18. Read this article https://www.zamnesia.com/blog-is-it-possible-to-take-clones-from-an-autoflowering-strain-n1398 It says basically what you're saying, but it does sound like it can still be done, like technically, if you really want to.... All it means is that you will have a smaller plant with less bud, but I mean, that can actually be a pro if you are scared to grow too big plants that draws attention.....
  19. Wow, thanks for the considered replies you guys. I was actually thinking of ditching my regular seeds and rather try to get my hands on autos. I'm only off early on Fridays when I want to go buy the freedom farm soil, PH thingy, nutes and just the one pot. I'll be doing outdoors, but most of back yard is covered roofing and it's totally paved up, so I need pots. Yeah I need pot too lolz! As far as I understand the ruderalis strain is a Russian strain of cannabis that has evolved to withstand the harsh weather and adapted to propagate without the need for huge amounts of sun and the fem seeds are created by spraying like silver water on the plant which then somehow tricks a female plant to have a sex change in going into like survival mode. I guess I can try to grow my normal seeds, but following on what you guys are saying it still sounds like autos is the way I should go and thanks for pointing out autos and super autos, I'll definitely keep an eye out for those. Luckily that hydro shop is right around the corner from me and so I'll definitely follow you guys advice to use the freedom soil and stuff. But like why can't you clone autos? I have rooting hormone and everything already.... You mos just make a cutting and dip it in the powder then roots spring out, why is this a problem for autos. Sheesh, how do you guys know so much, you must be growing for years huh...
  20. Okay, so I'm a total noob and can't give any real advice, but my biltong box consists of said box, light and computer fan, except for the light, don't you really just need a light fan like that? Only makes sense to not use a heater if you're worried about humidity and drying too quickly. You know, a freezer also actually dries the shit out of stuff, so that can also possibly be a way to dry the herb after being hung out a bit.... just some stuff I was thinking, but as I said, I'm a noob, so really this is more of a question than a suggestion
  21. So, reading some posts here and there and even on one of the hotbox shows, people just seem to hate on autos for some reason? Why is that? Isn't it quicker, easier, less hassles with the whole light thing and more problem free? Why do seasoned growers seem to hate on autos so much?
  22. So here's an idea.... I haven't totally gone through all the topics, sections and what not, but I'm new here and I'm also new to the whole grow your own thing. So the idea is to list like say a minimum of 2 - 5 seed banks, if it's local say so, if it's overseas, say so or if it's from anywher on our African continent, say that too. Then say something short about them. Local: Trophy seeds http://www.trophyseeds.com Just heard about them on the hotbox podcast. Overseas Ministry of Cannabis https://www.ministryofcannabis.com Saw a YouTube video on this, apparently they're very discreet and have high quality stuff. Sorry, I can't give a personal take on anything, I haven't even started my first grow yet, but I'm a noob, I'll gladly defer you guys. Ideally I'd like you to rate it on a scale from 1 being sucking ass to 5 being mindblowingly awesome in 3 areas (add more if you want) 1) Security/ discretion (maybe separate issues?) 2) Price 3) Quickness of delivery Just thought this might be an awesome challenge and well an easy and fun way to learn about what's out there
  23. Yeah man, I agree 100% One love my brother Peace
  24. Look man, we all know that chemo and radiation is poison, but it does kill cancer too, so I'm not dissing medical treatment entirely, it can help you if you weren't diagnosed too late. Cancer isn't something you can really fight, it's something you just have to endure, what can fight for is your own sanity, mental well being and keeping a positive attitude, my sis had an amazing fighting spirit and I like to believe that's why see lasted as long as she did. But I also believe in the great work tha Dignity SA is doing, because in the end you should have the right to make those kinds of choices too. Anyway thanks for sharing your love of the herb and your ongoing battle with cancer, it's truly admirable and inspiring.
