  1. Many thanks for the encouragement. Still fine tuning. Will organise some sort of Oxygen bubble device also. The reservoir is totally OTT @ (250ltrs). Didn't take into account that nutes need renewing at regular intervals so I'll probably only run max of 50/60ltrs at a time before refreshing. I will be using filtered rainwater +nutes for my girls nourishment. Tap water around here is ph8.5!. Will try and suss out a growlog at some point. Take care.......it's a jungle out there.
  2. Hi there. Could someone please point me in the right direction as to which sub forum/s I should post in?. OUTSIDE GROW with Co co perlite and dripper irrigation!. INSIDE GROW with Wilma 4 pot system using hydrorox(clay pebbles) in 1.2x1.2 tent!. Many thanks for all help....
  3. Fingers crossed. Remember I'm a newbie,................
  4. Forget to mention,..............this setup produces 1 ltr in +/- 9 minutes. Delivery seems perfect to me ?????.
  5. Greetings, I tried to get the 15mm pipe split evenly and 5mm pipes the same length. The system is gravity fed. Maybe it's more luck than judgement that all 4 netbows produce the same amount and in a nice soft delivery ie; won't bore holes straight to the base. Still have to see how it will work when set up with the substrate . Im only planting in October !. I'm guessing that you would probably need a reducer of some sort if you were running off mains pressure????. Trial and error scenario........... Good luck.....
  6. Greetings..... All rigged and tested!. Each netbow produces the same amount and the 'drip' is constant, stable and soft!. Each netbow produces +/- 1ltr in 10 minutes. Wonder if I have to water until runoff in early grow?. I will be using fabric pots!. Anyhow, I won't be planting until October but now feel quite excited to see how this system will work. Ttfn........
  7. Thanks a million for reply. I will be continuing with my setup with all this information in mind. When finished in week or so I will post some photos.
  8. Hi there, I need advise please. I've just bought some netbows which arrived today. I'm using 20 ltr pots (indoor grow) and another 4x 20ltr pots (outdoor grow). First question is are they too big for my pots?. These were the only size sold by grow folk. Maybe I could start the little ones (seedlings) off with an arrow dripper untill the root system is large enough to use the netbows ?????. OR, should I try and get smaller netbows????. Also, could someone kindly explain what amount and frequency should I aim to set my timer.... . I've only used watering can in the past so not sure about dripper systems. ie, do I have to let it drip until runoff?. Sorry to seem a bit daft but I'm trying new ways of growing weed. I'm using hydrorox indoors and cannamix premium (in fabric pots) outside. Appreciate any feedback.... Cheers...
  9. Thanks Prom, it's all interesting stuff!. Maybe I'll try organic outside this year. I guess I fall into the lost world of clay pebbles for now!. Lost but happy!. Have a lekker evening.......
  10. As a sideline observation I noticed the tap root in my only planted seed had actually emerged half way down the 'plug'!. I can see now why Rockwall cubes would make better sense for a setup like this. I will be hopefully planting 3 more seeds tonight .........., just waiting for propergation to take place . I guess the 'plugs' would work better if they were half the size. Anyhow, onwards and upwards.......
  11. Many thanks Prom, I have been steadily decreasing the pH. Waiting for pump cycle so it helps mix the PhDown. Got it down to 5.73 so I'll leave it there for now and check again tomorrow. Seems I'm on the right track now . I have 3 more seeds in for germination so I could try the rockwool for them. Will update in around a week unless I hit any panic stations!. Cheers....
  12. Hi Prom, so it's 5.6-6.4 pH right from the start?. I've been giving 7 as I thought there are no nutrients yet. Please confirm. Your comments much appreciated. Cheers...
  13. Hi folks, What should the pH be for seedlings in clay balls and roughly how old is a seedling when it officially enters veg. Also, is the dripper arrow in the right position please. She is 5 days old (gorilla glue).
  14. Perfect, thankyou . Yep,....... I'm in at the deep end!. Looks like the pressure is on!. Positive comments........ I feel like I'm the typical ' All the gear......No idea' person. Hope you see post explaining my reason for the lights schedule. I'm excited to try my first indoor grow with first time hydroponics. No point in planting untill the climate in GT is under control. Hopefully in a couple of weeks I can try. Cheers....
  15. Thanks Organic, Yes, panel heater seems the way to go for me. As mentioned, I'm on solar and the setup handles grow tent equipment nicely. Not sure if I switched to night light it would cope?. Even on a cloudy day the Solar will generate enough power to run GT and charge batteries for nighttime useage =10 hrs. If I switch to 'lights on' at night there would be an additional 6 hrs that my Solar batteries would have to supply the GT and if it's been cloudy there won't be enough power stored in the batteries to run the extra hours. If you understand that.....you deserve a medal!. If I used Eskom then your 'lights on at night' schedule would be perfect . Thanks again for your help....
  16. Many thanks for the feedback . Comment on the fan makes perfect sense!. Shame I missed your heaters but will start looking around now. I'm not sure if I would need 2 though?. Do you think a 400w panel is enough for my 1.2M2 tent?. Cheers......
  17. Hi all, Just wondering about different ways to keep Tent up to temperature in the night when lights go out?. I've ordered a RAM fan controller box to start with. 1.2x1.2 tent and on slow speed the fan seems an overkill sucking some nice 12°C cold air at a fair old rate!. I've ordered a 400w Desktop fan heater and will couple this with a separate thermostat. The fan will be placed with back near intake. Will update findings in 2-3 weeks for anyone interested. In the meantime, if anyone has any other suggestions to keep the tent warm I would be grateful. Panel heater is possible????. Also,........ what is the coldest temp (at night) that the plants could handle?. I believe 24°-27°C is the ideal temp-----in an ideal world!. I'm running everything on Solar so big wattage heaters are out of the question. Setup; Mars tent, led lights, ram 150mm fan. 2 fresh air 150mm inlet feeds.

  19. Thanks for info Grass Bass. It's definitely something to consider!. Perhaps 2 in the ground and 3 in pots utilizing my existing setup. I like alternatives just in case there's a problem with either grow!. My forest friend grows in a large tunnel. No worries for heavy rain but shit does it get hot in there sometimes!. Life itself is an experiment.... Have a groovy day.....
  20. I think it's the stability of the weather more than anything!. I'm still trying of ways to protect from the HEAVY downpours we get. It doesn't happen often but I HATE having to cover with a Tarpaulin. Already Hermes started in 3 plants (bummer). They have been dumped . Suggest you get weather app for checking temps/humidity down in this neck of the woods. Information is quite accurate. Temps are coming down now and humidity looks reasonable for flowering (around 45%). Loads of mistakes but gaining knowledge. I 'pinched' 2 plants above only the 4th node and it shows how much more green I could have had if it had been pinched above 5th or 6th node!. As you can see, my posts are spasmodic at best. Will update in around a week. I have another experiment to try. I've never scrogged before so still learning. If the plants had been started earlier and I had topped/pinched them correctly I think the net would have been substantially filled with more green. Just had Solar fitted to house and should have around 500W extra per hour for small indoor grow in addition to existing outdoor one. That will be interesting!. Anyhow, have a lekker Sunday and I'll post update soon....ish.
  21. Yep,.......next time photoperiods!. Thanks for your comment and I hope you have a lekker day....
  22. Thanks for the excellent input!. I sure have learnt a lot on my first grow back in SA. Had absolutely no problems with Auto's when I grew a few years back in Spain. The summer months there were longer and the weather generally more stable!. Man,......it can get quite harsh down here in the Klien Karroo. I am considering growing in the ground next season with carefully mixed substrate AND photoperiods!. Friend of mine quite literally grows 'Trees' in soil and now has nickname of Forest . Photo shows my other efforts. Photoperiod seeds from my friend. Only started at Christmas so I never expected much. The plants are small however I really didn't expect to get this far so anything is a bonus. Your comment on soil is well noted and understood . Have a groovy day .........
  23. Greetings. It seems like I have grown ( without intention) a single bud!. It's the only auto I've managed so far!. All other auto's (15) in total were a failure. Now, how far do you think this bud needs to go before I harvest it?........(you may laugh if you wish). It's 9 weeks from seed and smells gorgeous!. Not many tricombes and they are still clear.
  24. Thanks Skunkpharm, Do you have any suggestions for equipment please. What size/make of fans etc . I suppose you can't mention brands on the forum but any information would be great. Cheers....
