trichomechaser
Hey guys, been a minute... A year or two ago I found a really impressive male in a pack of Headbanger from Karma Genetics. He had some dank terps that were present even in veg, and structure was nice too. I didn't want to select something too squat, cause my goal was to preserve Karma's Sour cut used as the mother to Headbanger. During the project of using it, I also hit a couple of the winning female Headbanger phenos I had found. Again, both were more towards the Sour side than OG. There's a lot of 'fake' white label sour around and even when buying Sour lines from the US, one needs to be super careful about who really has the good shit. I'm currently in the second stage of testing the Headbanger crosses, including the Headbanger F2s, which were just bred for myself as future breeding stock, rather than a release. I'm not a fan of selling another breeder's F2s. If you prefer videos, I also did a short showcase of these cuts over on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/DWmJS-hAvWY/ This was a mid-summer run with temps hitting 35'C at times. So even though Karma's Sour often finishes without looking like it's done, the symptoms are probably a bit exaggerated here. Will be running them again in cool temps for a comparison. I recently got done with my first run of the Headbanger F2s and man, I could smoke this shit every day for eternity. There were 2 similar phenotypes, which were very Sour-like, the #3 is a little more gassy but the #5 has this subtle, Grapefruit or even Granadilla flavor. The #1 cut was more OG dominant, stronger branching (a trait that Karma's Biker Kush has up on a lot of other OG types), funk and fuel that sticks to the pallet. Not weed for the gram, or those looking for modern bag appeal. However, what it lacks in looks it makes up for in its flavour. Shit lingers on the tongue for ages with a soft, pillowy smoke. The goal here was true Sour exploration/preservation to some degree, so having a couple really nice plants pop up in a small 10 seed pop makes me want to dive back into more of them. But first, it's time to hunt through my other Headbanger hybrids (Ghost OG x Chem 91, Grease Monkey, Wedding Cake x Sherbert, Race Fuel, P.Dubb (Bushman Jay's Cut), Darlin's Net, GG4 x Chem D, Banana Puddintain, Le Mans). Looking forward to using these genetics going forward in the work I'm doing. After 5 years of working on projects and trying to learn and test as much as I can, it finally feels like I'm getting close to letting others also explore these lines, knowing that they aren't herm fests and stand out in their quality.
