Greetings, n00b Grower here, trying to learn the fundamentals, looking to do another grow in soil again, my question is DIRTY HANDS INC. ORGASOILUX claims enough nutrients for 3-6 months. This being said, is it then not needed to add fertilizers along the way if using this soil?
Thank you

Auto are the best choice for load shedding, they dont care at all.
Rest i run like @SkunkPharm with batteries and solar panels. Over day time, no recharge needed, just have to lay the extention cord to the grow room from the garage. Working on a fix installetion for the grow room.
Order from China directly... way cheaper as local... i just cant agree with the 200% margine local boys put on top, makes it three times as expensive if you order on your own.
Auto are the best choice for load shedding, they dont care at all. Does this still stand true in the community?

lol my current setup
If you heavy handed and don't have time to look that you do everything carefully - I'd go for the Budbox. If you someone that looks after their stuff and can make a material thing last long then the Mars will be better for you.
Budbox - Better zips, thicker and heavier material, I don't see any light leaks coming through the "almost plastic-like" inner lining of the tent walls. doors can hang open. Sturdy build.
MarsHydro - Better bang for buck as the mylar prooves to reflect better than the white across many different light PAR tests. (Budbox need to remove that false claim) but then most complaints you hear about is light leaks from either the zips wearing out or the material flaking off from bending too much and forming creases and flaking off on those creases and also the stitching on the material itself wears out over time leaving pin hole light leaks. so with a mars to make them last longer you gotta hook in the doors each time so they not hanging or flapping (wearing out the material and the zips). also Mars is a bit cheaper, so yeah... they kinda balance eachother out in that regard.
Thank you for this write up, i'm in the process of deciding between these two brands, seems like what is around in SA, its between these two brands. I'm leaning more towards the BudBox Pro for the sake of quality and overall life span.

Good day Peeps, its been awhile since i've last been active here the itch to grow again has hit hard and this time i would like to look into using the proper equipment. my only concern is how much of an affect loadshedding has on the plants.
Are people having to make use of back up power solutions as an necessity or is it still viable to proceed as i won't have the type of finances to purchase a proper backup power solution.
My main concern not having back up power would be any stress that loss of power to the indoor grow may cause, particularly the females turning hermie.
Someone at a local grow shop pointed out that auto flowers don't tend to hermie from disruptions to the photo periods, I'm assuming the dark period never has light interruptions but during light periods there will be these intermittent 2 hour stretches of darkness .
Are people with indoor grows having any notable issues caused by Loadshedding?
Is it still worth proceeding on to grow if no backup power is secured for the grow.
Thank you- 1

Here is a new pictures i took today.
Pistils close to 60%, although not following the pistil harvest method for my first grow.
Trichomes, i'm looking at everyday now, almost all cloudy with under 2% oxidized THC (CBN) which i'm patiently waiting to reach 5-8 to a maximum 10%, before cutting.

I didn't intend for it to end up this way, i incorrectly lollypopped and started LST way to late and was forced to LST last minute to prevent running out of height in my grow box when expecting the stretch during flower . I'm glad you guys see a positive in my mistakes

Sorry guys, been quiet, 1 of the 4 plants turned out female, these are the pictures i just took,
The plant is way behind, and made plenty of mistakes on this first grow, i will write up a full summary explaining what mistakes i made and where i can improve on my next grow.
I have definitely learned a lot with this grow.
Don't judge the pegs and hair clips, or the lolly pop mutant plant.

So until the new law is amended there can still be arrests and jail time given if cops had to bust into our home while we have a jay in our mouth and a plant chilling on in the grow tent?

My question is Parliament has 2 years to amend laws to align with constitution, so does this mean until it has been passed, it is still illegal in the meantime?

I haven't uploaded any recent pictures of how the plants are doing. Here are one of the plants to date.
I've done some lollypopping and fed blackstrap molasses today for the first time.
Did an epsom salt feed on the 15th.

This plant is 4 weeks old, in organic pro mix. Using biobizz organic biogrow and fishmix. I fertilize at full strength once every other watering. I foliar spray the fishmix everyday in the mornings.
I see on a few of my plants, the leafs show sign of being almost see through. Seems the leave structure is missing greenness.
I've already given epsom salts and no change.
Also another issue i have been having are the top of the leaf having a pale light whitish color as you can see in the pics below

An up to date pic of how the (we hope) girlies are doing.
Today i topped just after the 4th node, watered with some epsom salts at 1/4 tsp per 1liter strength.
I added another 20watt 6500k cfl on the side. My grow box has fittings for mid and high side option. Great for getting the 2700k's on all those nugs.

overnuted or Overwatered?
in Sick Bay

Hi all,
We had a few hot days in a row, 27-34c Celsius.
I have been trying not to overwater.
On thursday, 3 days ago i noticed leaves started looking strange, see below pic - i then followed with first introduction or nutes (atami bcuzz A + B soil at 1ml per L of each- i made a 20L BUCKET and watered each plant with roughly 3-4L the pots are 5gallon so watered under 25% of pot capacity.)
Water ph 6.3-6.5 run off after first nutes given 6.5 - 6.7
24 days old
Was i suppose to use 4L of the fert water when feeding or was i suppose to use 1L of the fert water and 2-3L of fresh water after?
I suspect this is due to being over nutted.. when i provided nutes for the first time was when soil was on the dry side.
