  1. This being my first real grow with using proper methods. Put these GSCookies into 48 hrs dark yesterday. Trichomes are just starting to go amber on these 3 girls. Top and bottom of these smallish plants in 5L pots are ripening at the same time, more or less so will cut entire plant and hang when ready. The red hairs are coming in faster now. I don't want my weed too stoney, though, so hoping 2 more days in dark before harvesting will be the sweet spot in. Fingers crossed :D

Thanks guys. Quite a difference from my original macro shots. It's crazy that the photos from yesterday are of the same plants, just taken of different parts of the bud

And here is a GSC that was cut and hung last night. She was about the same level of ripeness as the above picture 2 days ago.

Do you guys reckon they are still too early to have the desired energetic effects? (and not too stoney)

Should I put the other girls still in pots back under the light for a few more days before I cut and hang?

"How many weeks is she bro? I see a lot a white pistils plus those few amber trichs look like a pic of a sugar leaf.

I would hold out for another week and see how she looks. "

I just realized that the close-up pic of the trichomes in the original post is not the right one. Here's a better pic of one of the girls that I put into the dark last night, so still has 2 days of Darkness to go before I cut and hang. They have all been on about the same level of ripeness before going into dark.

Sorry about the wrong pic earlier

"Too much dark treatment can make your bud foxtail, its not really needed." - so keeping it in the dark for 1 extra day to mature a little more before cutting will do more harm than good?

Also, after cut and hung, do the cloudy trichomes continue to turn amber for a day or 2 longer? Or do they stop changing as soon as the plant is cut?

Today is day 62 for these 3, Yea a little early, for sure. But they still have 2 days to go in the dark, maybe I'll stretch it to a 3rd if absolutely necessary (prob not recommended). You rate I should put them back under day/night cycle for longer bud? There are 2 other GSC, that I put into the 48 hrs of dark 2 days ago, when they looked about the same as these. Today their hairs are already about 50% red and trichomes about 15% amber, more or less. Which is kindof what I was aiming for, so I cut them and hung to dry already (whoops, maybe?) I wanted my weed to be leaning more on the energetic side, didn't want to go too stoney so am not wanting too many amber trichomes .

Shit now you got me a little concerned bud hahaha... Have I started the harvest process too early? What % amber trichomes would you usually say is good for the kind of end product I'm looking for?
