  1. Very nice indeed, want to swap some samples?? Keen to try that bubba kush hehe!
  2. Hey 420, I actually send it off to a close friend of mine who does it for me as he has years of experience in hash making etc and I'm fairly impatient lol. I have made oil previously using the Rick Simpson way when my dad was ill with cancer (rice cooker etc) but I haven't done it again for some time. My friend who does it is on this forum as well, will drop him a message and ask him to respond with his methods. Cheers! AJ
  3. Thanks guys, yip 420 this particular harvest will go mostly towards bho and dry sift. Probably about 80% or so... I smoke quite a bit as well.. Especially over weekends.. And I need to keep my personal supply up for the next 3 months
  4. Just past 6 weeks into flower, not much to repot.. buds are putting on a lot of weight now.
  5. I was actually also wondering about water temps for a bubble cloner. I made up a little one recently, going to be trying it soon. Would placing it on a heating mat do any good? Think heating mats are around 25'c?
  6. Ahoy Everyone. Not really time for a scheduled update but I snapped these shots yesterday just as lights went off Thought I'd share. Plants are starting to yellow out slightly but I'm happy with that as I am 5 weeks in now.
  7. Cool man good luck! Can't tell you how many seeds I've lost trying different germing techniques. Know how frustrating it can be!
  8. I've never had the greatest results starting straight from rockwool. Had much better success putting seeds between wet cotton pads in a warm dark area. Once they crack open and there's a tap root then put them into rockwool or straight into soil. They can run out of energy trying to push through the rockwool if they are started from scratch in there. Especially if you use the pre-made hole they put in which I feel is too deep. Best success I've had is cotton pads then into a soil mix I made which is a combo of store bought potting soil & mushroom compost mixed with some perlite. Once they are established I go into quite a rich living soil mix.
  9. How tall is she now? I'd say a small pot would do more damage than good. Once she gets root bound she may struggle to take up nutrients etc. give her a harsh topping then put some stakes in when you pot up to a bigger pot and tie her down a little.
  10. Hi Guys Today is 28 days into flower and so far things are still going extremely well. Very very happy with this grow. If things continue like this I should get some sick buds! TK: the Blue Dream has really been amazing to grow and I am drooling to try it out! She basically doubled in size since flowering started. A bit more stretch than the critical kush but quite a bit less than the super lemon haze. I see flowering time is 9 weeks, I think I may let her go to 10 but will see how she looks. The super lemon haze girls are the biggest at just over 1 meter. I'll let them go a full 10 weeks. I could have started flowering these girls a bit earlier but their height has stopped and I'm fine for space with the lights. Was stressing they would get too big at 1 point. I have added an exodus cheese to the mix (theres a pic of her) I actually put her outside on the 1st of April because I have given up on growing exodus cheese. She started flowering and giving off the most amazing aroma. I had planned to let her finish up outside but with all the rain we have been getting she was literally drowning so last week I put her in the tent to finish. Due to the cold she has gone this amazing purple colour. Her buds are quite small though... not sure if that has anything to do with light intensity. Maybe spending some time in the tent will fatten them up. They are however super sticky and frosty so that's a good thing. At the moment I'd say the critical kush girls have been my favourites and their buds etc are looking the best, growth wise they have also just been incredibly strong. I have been slowly trimming out the bottoms of all of them but I must be honest.. I fucking hate growing in a grow tent. The run off is shit when I try water (which is also a mission) and getting to the plants is shit... it is a major mission for me. So as far as trimming and cleaning up goes I haven't been as vigilant as usual. Going to be making some changes soon which will give me better access to all of them. Still feeding them a combo of bio grow and bio bloom, gonna up the grow a bit soon as I've noticed some yellowing so will pump the nitrogen up for one feed then monitor them. Apart from that not much else to report, will post some more pics in 2 weeks
  11. Looking forward to watching this. Are they fems or regular seeds?
  12. 9 tons... another 9 ton shortage for Cape Town...
  13. Looks good, will be nice to get some more growers and traffic onto the site.
  14. Lol Burt.... hows it going with your new strain.. chocolate starfish shitter..
  15. Thanks guys, will probably post every 2 weeks with updates
  16. Hi guys It was 14 days in yesterday since the flip to 12/12. So far things are going really really well and I have high hopes for this grow! I'm still feeding at a 50/50 mix of Bio Grow and Bio Bloom. With the change in the weather over the last couple weeks, the rain and cold I'm finding my plants are using way less in terms of water. I'm watering once every 5 - 6 days. Im hoping the worst of the stretching is over, the plants are monsters. The Super Lemon Haze is by far the biggest but that was to be expected due to their sativa dominant genetics. Buds are starting to form nicely. I cannot wait to try this Blue Dream.. there's a huge online buzz about it at the moment and the high it provides. You can see by the support stakes the amount in which they have stretched over the last 14 days.
  17. Very Nice! Amazing looking buds there. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Looking good! I have the same problem with runoff, as the tent fills up you can cause damage hauling them in and out. I saw plastics for africa sells heavy duty plastic trays that are 70cm x 130cm. 2 of them side by side will fill your tent really well. I want to get 2 and then just put something under the far edge to raise them a little so all the run off will run to one side where it can be scooped out.... only one small problem... they cost about R850 each.... kinda heavy to fork out R1700 on plastic trays..
  19. Thanks Reaf, will nip those last bits off when I get home tonight. Didn't realise they would still try send energy that way. Here's some more pics. On the 4th of May I flipped to 12/12 and changed the bulb from MH to HPS. I included some pics of the Metal Halide still in and then a couple more once the HPS was fitted. I was actually quite surprised by how yellow HPS is when I did side by side shots of the MH and HPS.
  20. I use the bio neem from Horti Shop and it's always worked well. I never mix it at full strength though and it smells quite funky but it is organic so doesn't do any damage. I've heard of guys doing damage with pyrol so I have never used it myself! I noticed earlier on that you were only giving your plants 200ml each when watering? I would say give a to more, at least 1 litre per pot if they are 16 liter pots. They say you should get 10% run off when you water. I have 12 litre pots and put 2 litres into them every time I water, usually get 200-300ml run off from that.
  21. Guys here are some pics of the training I did on these girls before I switched to flower. I actually started training fairly late, could have probably started earlier but so far it's been looking ok. As I mentioned before I topped these plants hard! I was stressing about space and really needed to slow their height down. SO I topped them and then I super cropped the top shoots to force the plant to widen out a bit. You can see by the pics where I actually followed the main stem up and literally chopped the top right off. I also tied a few of them by putting stakes on either side of the pots and then actually pulling the plants open. Here's some pics!
  22. Thanks Toby! I flipped them on the 4th of May, will put up some more info shortly.
  23. Cool thanks for the info, will definitely do that. I think I was actually over cautious with these because I only had the 5 beans and was terrified they wouldn't perform so I kinda let them go too long before training. I've got some clones of them on the go at the moment so I'll start training those very early. Back to the progress, in my last post I had moved them into 12 litre pots. Within 3 weeks they had outgrown these pots and it was time to move them into their final pots. I chose 25 litre black buckets which they will now finish in. I started topping and super cropping quite harshly. When I topped I actually took the whole top section off of them, reason being they were just growing too fast and I needed to slow them down drastically. I also used some of my own super soil I created by making the bottom layer my soil. It has been cooking for 60 days when I used it.
  24. Thanks buddy I did start training them yes, shortly after the above pics were taken. In my next post I'll put up the pics of training etc I did with them. Currently sitting in darkness as our power went off at 8.30
  25. 21 April, I added HPS metal halide to the mix. I finally got myself an air cooled hood... can't believe I didn't do it earlier! The temperatures in the tent are hovering at 22-23 degrees with the full 600 watts. Can't believe how effective this thing is. I can have it at 30cm from the top of the plants with no problem at all. I've included some pics of how I installed the ballast etc. I mounted a wooden board to the wall and have it all on there. My timer etc is all where I can see it and it's a lot neater in the tent. I'm planning another 600 watt light for this tent which will put me at 1200 watts in total. Maybe a bit overkill but with the air cooled hoods temp is not a problem in any way. For now it's 600 watt metal halide with 240 watt LED. I use an 8 inch extractor and I managed to find a 6 inch reducer so that it fits my hood which is 6 inch. On Intake I have 2 x 4 inch passive intakes which is working fine. Covered the intakes with stockings I stole from my wife haha. Trying to keep dust out. I started giving the plants some bio grow at this point as well.
