  1. good morning Pat, I think I'm going to enjoy your company on here, now Justin's moved up a level which is awsome cause this site was quiet for all the reasons we all know and I reckon all the mods now this site is going to take off nicely this time....

    Have a lekker day boet.:-trip

Did I miss something? Something seems different while I was gone and I picked it up logging back on now.

  2. Bud looks really good king were they vegging right through from September when you last posted those pics? I see you did transplant and looks like the harvest was quite big. Which month they start flowering in looks like they had a full season!

They had a very long season. In fact too long for 30L bags for some of them. All the stuff I planted into the garden wasn’t great. But I had about 12 bags which were phenomenal and got nutes consistently. I kept transplanting at necessary until reaching 30L. Flower started about Mid Dec funny enough but went for ages! Reckon the constraints with bags caused slightly earlier flower. Most of those above got the cut round about Mar/Apr.

The last of the plants (AK47) busy finishing up. It’s a shorter plant but have very high hopes for it. Smells so amazing.

    > Below my harvest two weeks ago of a bag seed plant that turned out rather lovely.44721c39022649498b3de51d63674c79.jpgd7f9871af3fd77647f2868f6f45a3ce7.jpg

  3. That's quite impressive bud, did she smell from a mile away? Was it distinctive?

It was incredibly distinctive. The cheese was super strong and smelly and the close ups that I posted were crazily tropical smelling. But ja walking into the garden each morning has been the best thing. Smells all around I was very surprised by the quality compared to what I was expecting looking at lots of other outdoor posts.

  4. So I know I dropped this forum. But I thought I’d share some end results of the outdoor grow. Got some bud I’m blown away with. Winter grow is underway, plants are obviously smaller and flowered way earlier but they look 100 times more promising in potency. And the summer grow was already more potent than half the rubbish you can buy

  5. All 6 seeds have popped so that's off to a great start, should be getting the Girl scouts cookie.

Other than that it's fucking cold atm so hope the plants survive, temps in the box not to bad.

Pretty much all for now, keep it real.398309ee9a17ca50b738ea6391476a37.jpgcb99973180b94828861d5597a4abc59a.jpg

Love the grow box! Busy reading through your journal now. Quick Q, where did you get GIrl Scout Cookie? I've been dying to find some.

Got that as a clone bud. If your in Cape Town we can have a look at that later down the line.

  7. Transparent cups or buckets will hurt the root system as roots do not like light . As for sexing a plant it will show preflowers once it reaches sexual maturity, you can see when it's reached maturity my it alternate noding . This will happen about 4-6 weeks depending on the strain

    Cheers

Thanks for info about sexing! I'm sure it's different in every case but couldn't find much info regarding that. Maybe I'll be able to hold out a little longer. I so badly want to plant them into the ground!

  8. Thanks GLO..appreciate it..i was thinking of maybe wrapping the transparent cups with something to block the light. Reason i got transparent cups is to see how the roots develop and if the plant is root bound. Any advice regarding that?

I really hope so! I did a Top today of everyone so a day or two to recover I reckon then hoping to see signs. Will repot in the mean time however.

Edit: meant to respond to your first post on this thread @DoubleR

  9. Plants are looking great man. Don't you think its time for a transplant into pots? You're gonna hit a brick wall in terms of growth soon

Definitely is, they've produced perfect amount of root balls. I've been collection bottles to transplant into as pots are far too expensive for a few weeks.

I'm going to top this weekend however and give them a few days to recover and then repot.

Where do you stay? Rather go for little buckets than bottles, your pots must not be transparent at all. Even white pots aren't recommended

Look for one of those plastic shops, their buckets are cheap. The 20L buckets for instance are around R25 a bucket

Yeah I remembered that today while prepping the repot and now need to go buy plant bags I can't believe I didn't think of that, I've grown all assortment of other plants and know you can't

  10. At 5 weeks they should be in at least a litre but 2 would be better of medium.

They should be pushing their 5th or 6th node. The fan leaves should be almost the size of your hand. They should be about ruler height and a pencil girth stem.

Soil rule to follow. 1l of soil for every week you intend keeping the plant alive.

Plant them out. It really should have happened the first I suggested it 2 weeks ago.

Just a few pointers. In the beginning people dont realise just how fast these suckers can and do grow.

The first 3 weeks of a cannabis plants life are extremely important as the plant decides how it is going to express itself under the conditions it finds itself in. Important genetic decisions including links to the sex and a long list that effect the phenotype. Deciding factors are environmental...the medium they are in, how much water they being exposed to, how much light, humidity, soil ph.....and on and on, and early stunting almost always shows up later in flowering with unexpected poor result ime.

These here are at 6 weeks and only just getting ready to really explode into veg. They didnt start out in a sheltered environment or indoors but exposed from day 1 because they can handle it. They are genetically built to do it. I need my outdoor plants to tackle the season with the best expression to flourish.

Agreed! It's more a case of just not having the time last few weeks. Work has been killing me very slowly. Have to respray half my car this weekend after repairs. I don't deny I should've planted them out but I just haven't been able to!

I 100% agree with your advice! If all goes according to plan their repot should happen in a few days. Just trying to figure out when.

    Thanks for the pics

    @Totemic

your plant looks lush and healthy!

  12. Not sure if anyone reads this stuff. But I've been gone for a few days and returned to my babies. My goodness have they grown!

They're ready for their first topping which will happen this weekend. From there a couple days recovery and either acclimation to outdoors or a first repot and some more time in the greenhouse. They're fast running out of space though I'm kinda waiting for the sun to meet my current lighting schedule a bit more.

For anyone newbies reading this, don't rush the process. Don't repot too soon, wait till the first 2cm of soil are dry before watering, and just enjoy it. They do most of the work you just need to listen to them. Plants will always tell you what they need.

I'll be back with an update soon seeing as growing is happening so quickly now! I've hopefully got some interesting genetics coming soon to grow so gotta start moving the teenagers out of the greenhouse 5e0aea98f972be5bc273a205d09e35d2.jpgc71866e651055bdccfda040b1f0e4b7e.jpg

  13. So everyone is looking all to happy. I've halted on repotting as they don't need it yet. They absolutely exploding now that they're receiving nitrosol full dose and temp and watering is very controlled now.

I'm looking at topping in a week or so as they're hitting 4th and 5th nodes now!

  14. Its the start if all the issues I mentioned previously. It will only get worse very quickly. They need to get into bigger pots so they can can start getting fed. Since they are only in coir tou need to decide what next. Organics or soilless. That will help you decide what fertilizer to use.

    @Totemic

I've started moving into bigger pots. They did bounce back a bit. They're currently in a high quality potting mix with coir and vermiculite!

Still feeding at the moment. Struggling with time to get them all done!

  15. Hi all!

So I did a little check up today on my plants. Over the weekend they experienced a little over watering. But have come right and perky again.

I'm a bit concerned about the current situation. I've got yellowing on new growth and older growth and cotyledons are yellowing as well. Could this be a nitrogen deficiency? I'm definitely going to repot this weekend. But I am concerned about the yellowing.

@Totemiccould it possibly be due to the size of the trays? I see they're drying very quickly now. Almost before day is up right through.

  16. Well bloody done dude! I've been considering a mainline on a few of my plants outdoors this season. They're in week 3 of veg. But so scared to do it as they're grown from seed and don't know if they're male or female But you've inspired me to give it a bang and see what happens!

You still smoking your cheesy/spice grow?

Just do it JBKush[/member]! It's less work in the long run bro!

I'm down to my last 5g maybe less.

Ok it's happening! Once I know the sex I'm gonna pick 3 and give it a bang!

  17. Holy shit she is looking gorgeous! Well done! Not sure what your space is like but I was dropping to 5C at night and just stuck two 100W fish tank heaters in 5L bottles in my mini greenhouse and the temp sits at 20C all night. Had the idea and decided to try

  19. I have nothing to trade as of yet but I believe in time SA can build a beautiful stock of exchanges seeds and plants on this network to really get a collection going. I'm keen but don't have enough posts yet or seeds. Don't suppose there'd be a chance of getting any clones this way?
