  1. Hi Everyone, I haven't been on the forum in more than a week.  Work ha been hectic.  The three plants are happy, the PO and WW popped up on day 4, the Trumps only surfaced on day 7, but its stalk is much thicker than the other 2.  The WW stretched a little, so I just put a box under the pot to get it closer to the light which seems to have solved the problem.  I have been watering daily around the plants, not at the base as advised.  Seems to be working well.  I will load some pictures over the weekend on the progress.  I have also added some Alfalfa ground covering yesterday, I am sure it will help with moisture and also for nitrogen replacement after crushing them into the soil when the plants start to flower.

Did you measure what the light draws on the plug?

20/4 is nice... Eskom gets a fair share, but Autos, what ever Eskom does, you do not really care light wise, just let the timer be.

Check your RH 2 hours in dark time, run a log or a max/min logger. Light on, your humidity level is lower due to the heat the lights release.

And remember, no cutting on autos and once they flower, let them be... only LST if you still must... should have done that during veg 😁

Have fun and good luck! 👍😊

Thank you for the advice, yes I currently measure the LUX output on the canopy of the plants, it reads 4500, I believe this is ideal?  I have a de-humidfier running currently at about 60%RH.  LST is all I am going to do once the plants are around node 5.

Not completely correct, your Microbes aren't only on the top layer, and you want some to feel threatened, and breed and lay eggs, forcing them to multiply.

You can also drown them with too much water, and that is also why you have coco, and perlite, as they hold water and air, and a place for the Microbes to live and hide.

Those are the facts right there, thank for for the info.

Those look like nanners, female pollen sacs. Sometimes a female plant will produce nanners after a long time in flower without being pollinated. In an effort to produce offspring she will self pollinate.

Buds can lose anything from 60 to 80% weight during drying and curing.

It can be dissappointing as they look so fat and feel heavy during trimming, but then seem to shrink during drying.

Thanks, I thought as much. Just gonna try harder with this next run. It was a weird plant growing different and it had a genetic foxtail bud formation. Mutations in the leaves some only 3 leaves and this one tiny crooked leaf. But heres the question. Can I medicate on it like smoke it? Any negative aspect to it?

Hi guys please confirm what this could be. 6 or 7 on different buds. They only started coming up on 5th day of drying. Buds have also shrunk by 60% at least, not sure what I did wrong here, harvested when trichomes started going amber.

And buds look super skinny and weird now.

And buds look a bit uglier than they did after 5th day of drying

  9. Watering the plants daily with syringe in the middle, when dry, the little heater is drying cupboard to 49% RH. Not sure what's more important, good ambient temp or RH around 60%? Any suggestions? I am also trying to keep the tops moist with spray bottle of PH balanced water. I researched that living soil need to stay moist top otherwise the microbial lay dormant and don't recover. Can someone confirm.

  10. Hi everyone, maybe it's because I am stoned, but how do I update my grow diary, do I reply to the post or what? I wanted to update with info and ask a question on the post, but it seems to reflect as me replying to my own post. Please help. Need to document the grow well.

My money's on the Opium and Widow...😉 Guidance✌️

Amen man. I have grown girl scout cookies on my first run, will be interesting to see the difference between that and this cookie strain, that's the only reason why I took on Trump, good to have a comparison, and they also don't give THC % just say extremely high, so wanna smoke that shit. Always wanted to see widow up close and personal, so can't wait, purple opium can't find grow pictures anywhere on this strain, have no freaking idea what to expect. Fucking love these plants.

Good luck and have fun with your autos. Are they feminised seeds?

Hi,  Thank you, really looking forward to it for sure, just holding thumbs that I can keep the temp reasonable, currently balancing it at 22 degrees, but losing some humidity due to that.  De-humidifier in the room shows 61%, but cupboard 43%.  Yes they are all feminised, This is only my third run in total, so just playing it "safe" at the moment.  I will start playing around with Photoperiods next summer when our new house is finished being built.

  13. Hi Everyone, So I planted 3 plants yesterday.  Please follow this journal and give feedback an advice.  I would like to get them to harvest, heavy.  Below I will give as much info pertaining to the grow, please let me know if I should add something

Plants - Purple Opium Auto (Divine Seeds) - White Widow Auto (Marijuana SA) - Trumps Cookie Jar Auto (President Seeds)

Grow Light is Lunar 1000W Full Spectrum LED light, my light cycle through the whole grow will be 20h light / 4h Dark if Eskom allows it.  I will be growing all three in living soil mix and adding Calcium Nitrate at certain intervals.  RH will be kept between 55 and 60% and temperature will stay between 19 and 25 degrees Celsius.  I am currently growing in a closet space as our new house is currently still being built and want to scope out tent spots and the size I require before investing in that.

I will keep the journal updated on a weekly bases and I really look forward to everyone's comments and advice to get these 3 girls to a heavy harvest.

Grow reports are allocated for completed grows. To help others decide whether they would like to grow out the same strain or not. It's basically a summary of a diary with all the data collected presented in a single report.

For grow diaries you want to start a diary here https://www.420sa.co.za/forum/42-grow-diaries/

This is where you log a grow that you have on the go.

Have a look at the other guys diaries to get an idea of how it works

Just to be sure, once I follow the link, I just "Start New Topic"? and then keep updating the feed?

whats up man! so there are 2 spots for grow documentation. the one called Grow diaries is the one where you document a current grow happening at the moment that is not finished yet, so from seed to harvest.

and then there is the grow reports section where i think you have been posting, and that is more for finished grows that you have smoked and may have a report about and can then share it with the community.

Thanks a Mil.  Gonna quickly do it properly.

    Awesome thanks.

  17. Hi Everyone, might be a stupid question, but must I edit my grow diaries when adding new content or just comment on the post?  Not entirely sure about this one, so for example, when the start breaking ground and I at dates and pictures, where do I do that?

  18. Hi guys, I know this is a stupid question, but haven't tried it yet, and all online info just tells me how to do it, but I want to know, does one, and if yes, when does one remove the anchor holding the stem down when doing LST on Autoflowers?  Or do you just leave it until harvest? I should be starting my next 3 grow diaries in a week or 2 and just wanna get some clarity on the LST.

Nice, although I must admit... felt a bit dirt reading the title of this thread. lol

Was wondering what it has to do with cannabis while reading it 😛

It makes sense to help keep the species alive, find ways to maximize fertilization to increase survival.

LOL, yeah, the Title seems a little dirty hey.  Was a good piece of my learning material.

Thank you for this information, I have had a quick read on the study that was done, Freaking amazing.  I am surely gonna invest more time into this topic. Thank you.

If you have identified desired outcomes, and intend combining genetic material to achieve the outcomes you are breeding. Even if it is just for to feed your own curiosity. I wish more people would try their hand at plant improvement.

Is there any reading material I can look at on how one can estimate what the outcome would be if two strains are combined, Like is there a specific algorithm to work from, or is it trial and error, is there a way to predict the outcome?
