  1. So I landed up with an aphid invasion, when I was hoping for another 2 - 3 weeks and more amber trichomes. Decided to harvest before the aphid population exploded. All dried now, and curing. Made 2 joints from the sugar leaves and small buds so far... super smooth and herby, but unfortunately not that potent. Going to start with grow no.2 shortly, but got to get a grow tent and more potent lights first.

  2. Hi all, so I'm a little confused as a first time grower. I think it's time to harvest my sativa's...

The buds are small, but I'm enjoying the learning experience so far. I've read it's best to harvest when the pistils darken or when the trichomes are milky, and for the relaxing couchlock effect, to wait a little longer till a few trichomes turn amber.

In my plants case, they are 10 weeks into flowering, all the pistils have browned and the trichomes are milky, but none are amber yet.

Question is, do I harvest based on the browned pistils or do I wait till I see some amber trichomes?

To be honest I'm not expecting amazing results, but will use the experience gained to produce better results next time.

Still I can't wait to try the results...

  3. Hi guys,

Got a small indoor indica grow on the go. Plants are 1 month into flowering stage. I've been keeping an eye out for males, cause I started my grow with seeds from buds I found in product I bought.

Here are some close ups of the ones I'm pretty sure are female...

This one has me concerned, as I'm seeing pistils, and what looks like the beginnings of male flowers (little ball towards the bottom of pic):

A 2nd pic from higher up a coala:

Don't want a male or hermaphrodite damaging my little crop! Any advise/answers would be much appreciated. If it's a herm, could I separate it and keep it to harvest the seeds?

  4. Thanks guys... here's a pic of the initial small grow cupboard...

Yesterday I "upgraded" to a larger home self-made grow tent. Plants are in the veg stage now and the rate of growth caught me a little by surprise.

Next month I'll upgrade to an decent bought proper tent. I'll be using the cupboard for seed germination and early growth, then moving the plants to the proper grow tent. The home made tent I'll be using for the post harvest drying stage. We'll that's the thoughts...

In the early growth stages I had some issues with fungus flies. A spray bottle with a mix of neem oil and a teaspoon  of dish liquid took care of them. Right now humidity is difficult to control, ranges from 65 to 78% weather dependent.
