Hi  bud looking good .

One slight thing I have noticed in your soil pot is that you never seem so saturate the medium . I may be wrong about this but it always seems like you just watering around the base of the plant . By doing this you are limiting root growth . You need to saturate the entire pot and then let the medium cycle through a wet dry cycle.  As I said I may be wrong and I an just going off the pics shared . If you refine your watering in the soil you will have a largely increased yield as the tlroot ball will be much bigger .

Just my 2 cents

Thanks GLO, I normally take her out to water, I have a bucket with a grid and water until I can see runoff coming out of the pot. I haven't been focusing on where I'm watering though, so I'll take your advice and be mindful about trying to saturate all of the medium right through.

You need to saturate the entire medium ,roots won't like spreading to dry soil and dry soil micro life will almost completely stop producing nutrients for your plant.

It's also good to bare in mind that soil can become hydrophobic if let to dry out to much. This means that when you water you may get runoff but are you actually not saturating the medium and water is just running through your soil.

What you need to do wet the medium across the entire pot not just around the root ball , only apply enough water to wet the entire top. Then wait 10 min and apply the same amount of water again , wait 5 minutes  and you should get runoff . If at this stage you not getting runoff repeat and take not how much water your medium can optimly hold.

If you find your plant then wilts its a sign of an underdeveloped root system and the plant is not utilizing the entire pot . The wilting is caused by the water cutting off oxygen supply . In Organics your entire medium needs to stay damp for soil health , dry medium is a dead medium

I have gone weeks between watering in bigger pots and small plants. This is why the correct ratio of perlite is also required in your soil because perlite is a key to prevent overwatering.  This is also why I hate vermiculite as its the number one cause of beginners killing plants with overwatering

Hey dudes.

Sorry to jump in abit late but this is great info. I once also had major issues with over watering and underwatering. Never knew what to do.

The one thing I realised is that I now prefer to increase my pot sizes as my plants grow. Makes it so much easier to water. For e.g.. if I water a brand new clone that has developed roots and just been transplanted into a pot, I make sure to saturate the entire pot. Just like @Green Leaf Organics  mentioned about waiting a few minutes between watering, as it allows all the water to disperse through the medium, then your runoff will be from no more space for absorption rather than being hydrophobic.

So usually just after a transplant the young plants take about 5-7 days to get the medium dry enough for the next watering. About 3 to 4 weeks after the transplant they usually start to get drier in about 1-2 days between watering. Then I know the plants are getting big enough to be transplanted and then I start again by saturation and waiting a couple days etc etc.

Either Way, so far it's looking really good. Keep up the good work 🤘

Best and quickest way,

Bottom chugging, you have a tray that you pour your feed or water into at the base, and after 30min, remove the tray and what ever didnt pull / wick up.

It will suck what it needs, and you'll no longer have fungus gnat issues.

If you do this, you'll have a game changer move. And you can thank me later😉

Week 8 Update / Flower Week 2

Morning fam, this week was defol time for me to remove the lower stuff that won't make the cut (intentional lame pun 😆) and to give some light to the stragglers that just might push through to the tops. Last time I'm touching the leaves until much later.

Ms Organic is a beautiful steady growing plant. I followed the great advice of @Green Leaf Organics and was mindful of saturating all of the media to runoff and following up with another saturation 20min later. As predicted she looked a bit droopy initially but not too bad, she bounced back quickly and was soon up and about with more vigor than before. Pics to follow

All the ladies before defol:

Week 9 Update / Flower Week 3

There was an explosion of growth this week although the bud development seems to be a little behind. Don't know if it's the cold, or something else but it just seems a little more delayed than usual. There are definitive signs of flowering albeit slower on the bud development side. Besides that they look really healthy and full and I'm looking forward to seeing them bloom:

I'm just a bit confused with 3 weeks into flower and no flower sites normally  you start to see them 10-14 don't you maybe have a light leak ?

Thanks @mantis, yea I know, they are little behind on the bud development side, which is weird and it's been bugging me as well. After my update they have eventually begun to show bud sites, I'll post a pic if I get in there early enough tomorrow morning

Looking good , loving the side by side between organic and hydro . That organic plant is looking extremely happy. The organic one has better bud development but smaller ,  Looks like you have a nice indica dominant baby there . How's the watering style change working out for you ?

Ms Organic stole my heart from the beginning 😂 but ya, her buds are looking beautiful. I'm glad I have a copy

The watering works amazingly well, no more drooping of leaves afterwards and she loves the soak.

Week 10 Update / Flower Week 4

It has been a joy opening the tent every day to find something new. It also really cool to see that all 3 plants are very different.

The hydro girls

They love to eat and drink, they're loving their EC a little higher now during flower between 1.8-2 seems to be golden. Anything less and they go pale green, anything more and the tips burn a little. These plants grow like crazy, thick thick stems with older fans much bigger than my hand.

Ms Organic

Classic and dainty, she grows out perfectly with beautiful buds. If she were a person she'd be calm, collected and walk with class and grace.

Some pics:

Week 12 Update / Flower Week 6

There's not much to report on this week. It has been  really cold lately and the girls looked slightly stressed, except Ms Organic, she definitely took it a lot better than the other 2, she didn't even show the slightest sign of stress. Got a few buds on the leaves  even some on fan leaf stems. Other than that everything seems to be going okay. Serious stretch on T2 though, I'm contemplating supercropping the long branches 🤔

Week 13 Update / Flower Week 7

I still got some vertical growth from T2 this week so I had to super crop the 2 long stems to at least be a little shorter. I didn't want to lift my light any more because of the other 2 shorter girls. She seems to be going strong after that which I'm happy for. No end in sight for the 2 hydro girls, looks like they're going to flowering for a while. Ms Organic is going along nicely as well. Getting nice delicous smelling plump buds and she is still just as short and stocky

No probs man, I did a big defol on them a few nights ago, it was just getting too leafy in there. I've got 3 distinctly different plants in the making here...

T1, this is the pheno I think looks like yours:

Week 15 Update / Flower Week 9

Had some PM creep in in a few spots and decided to use PapaJ's KHCO3 and it seems to have been effective, I realise it will rear it's ugly head again but I hope to keep it under control until harvest. So far so good... 🤞

Also made a 2x rookie mistakes this past week in the hydro res and it could come back to haunt me, 1) I bought the wrong Micro for my water. I use RO water but bought the hard water Micro which has less cal/mag in, caught it in the end and countered with CalMag, 2) On top of that I swapped the Micro and Grow dosages and only realised 10 days later. Eish, I guess it is what it is. I did a flush with FlashKleen over the weekend and changed the res to Ripen.

The ladies are doing good overall and I think it's the last little dash to the finish line. T3 has had such a good run though. If the end result is as good as she grows I'd love to do a grow of just her and be able to get the light where I need it. The hydro ladies are still going to need some time to finish off but again, T2 is such a strong plant she has big node spacing but if you could concentrate your efforts into just her needs she could easily stack those spaces.

Enough rant, let's get to it:

Week 16 Update / Flower Week 10

I've changed my mind on who to bring forward. The tall, strong and beautiful T2 has grown on me. He flowers are so colorful and resinous, she has really astounded me. Also realised I don't have a clone of her for some reason so I monstercropped one of the budlets on the the lower growth, really hope I can get something rooted of this baby

I'm hoping to give these girls the axe the weekend, trichomes will tell closer to the time though. They could easily go a lot longer but I don't enjoy the effect of a belated harvest even though that's when they pack on the pounds.

With bringing T2 to the sacrificial judgment altar I went ahead and started trimming the fans off T1 and T3 getting them harvest ready and letting them buds soak up as many rays as they can until D-Day..

Thanks to 420sa fam for this experience. Being a part of this competition has pushed me to be better and pushed my hardware budget also 😜

Thanks to everyone involved and thank you all for allowing me to enter late. Overall I'm pretty happy with the result even with the 16 day handicap.

This girl stole my heart right at the end with her colour and vigor.

So the time of reckoning is upon us (or me).. I bring forth Tortoni #2 for your judgment and viewing pleasure..
