you keep them in veg until they come right and are growing 5 spoke leaves again... 7 weeks sounds about right thou... could be 10... or 15 if things are slow

Morning growmies.. So I spotted some WPM when giving the girls a clean up and microbe and sea weed drench.. So I sprayed some sulpher mixed with water and Dish washing liquid. It seems to have stopped it in its spores..😂

How far into flower is it safe to spray sulpher?

Airflow and ventilation I am now learning is a very important part of indoor.. Far more than what I expected.. Stay safe and happy growing..👌👍🌱

I wouldn't after the 3 week stretch.... It also browns pistols... So if you have to... Very early flower.

If you sprayed the tent walls and your circulation fan with the Sulphur you should be okay for pm protection for a while

Plants look great man .
Sulphur leaves a residue , or the one I use , my pots that had overspray on it needs to be washed of with a cloth , doesn't come of with just wiping , but I left it the pot like that for a few weeks. I only use in veg .

Thank you Sir. I have some from Papa J.. I do not really understand the wetting agent story.. ? So before it will work you need to spray with something like Jadam. Why is this necessary?

If you have to spray in flower spray potasium bicarbonate. With a wetting agent.

You can use a weak Sunlight soap solution. I'm not sure on dilution ration, cant be more than a few drops per ltr.

Thank you so much.. So one spray the plants with that and then immediately after with the prefered solution? With the sulpher I mix the dishwashing liquid in with it. Can I not do the same with the potasium bicarb?

i would honestly just leave the Sulphur on the leaves after the spray, no need to wash it off at all... in fact after my recent experience, i am inclined to never consider washing Sulphur off the leaves ever. from all my veg, to my cuttings and what's in flower now as well (flower was sprayed in week 1 from the flip, so still no harm) and not a speck of PM in sight, and i have never had cuttings as healthy as these... its like nothing can keep them down!

and to answer your question about why we need a wetting agent. without a wetting agent, the surface tension of the water on the leaf surface forces the water to make little beads, or droplets on the leaf. this is not ideal because only where the droplet is, is where your spray will be effective. a wetting agent breaks the surface tension and allows the water to spread over the entire surface of the leaf for maximum absorb through the leaf.

this is very important for preventative treatments where you cant have even a spec of leaf untreated

soap does break surface tension of water very well... but go easy with it... a few drops per liter is often plenty. baby shampoo may be more gentle on the plant

I use potassium hydrogen carbonate and is already rather soft to spray.. I use it pure if I need it. Early flower max..

And I go with Crex on this one.. don't wash the Sulphur off, you might accumulate the concentration and give some serious issues to lower parts of the plant.

Once you are done with the plants, use a Sulphur burner and smoke your grow spot, that cleans up all spores in the area. Remember.. you only get PM when your climate is off. Work on that first... your climate is in check, you do not get PM.

My climate is definately off.. I just have no means at the moment to set it right. "Ek kyk maar noord.." Again a learning curve.. Once I'm able to do so... Smooth sailing...😂😂

So mixing the potassium bicarbonate with water and dishwashing liquid? Not recommended?

Sorry for the delayed reply. I believe you can add it to the solution you intend spraying.

Na, works fine too.. but again.. once it vaporizes the water, the potassium bicarb will stay behind and change the smoke result a bit. There isn't much you can use during Flower.. late flower is your main danger zone. Climate control is you best option for late flower PM protection.. cold like now, a simple electric heater would do the trick.. in summer adding heat doesn't work, dehumidifier only option. Even winter is more wet, is easier to keep the climate in range for less bugs spend.

I was on 4500 Rand electricity cost in January. Then I changed my inliners and reduced to 2800 Rand Eskom fees. With the Eskom price hikes from April and June.. I am back at 4800 Rand Eskom fees a month.. and they will go on increasing.. 😱😩😭 climate control isn't cheap, i agree. But without my change of the inliners, my Eskom bill would be over 7k.. more as the rent of the flat. Look that your gear running 24/7 is as energy efficient as you can find.. saves a lot!

The tent main inliners run 24/7.. I used 4 of those consuming 159 watts each.

159watts.thumb.jpg.1ceb6d24154e6711b3bc1e1d1e7e7ce9.jpg

You get those in more or less every grow shop.. worst product you can use ^^ they consume a lot more energy as the silent inliners I replaced em with... just cost 50% of the TD-500. The silent inliners pay back within 6 months... with Eskom getting more and more expensive.. that time duration shrinks with any other Eskom price hike. Beside, you can easy speak in the grow area.. isn't possible with 4 of the black ones... sounds like a Turbine factory.

The TD500 consume 51 watts on medium speed. Yes, little less air moved by the silent ones.. but consuming 1/3 is a huge reduction in power consumption. I have 6 TD-500 running in my grow flat. 306 watts 24/7 draw now.. compared with 738 watts on the old setup (4 old inliners and 2 TD-500). With 6 of the old ones, I would stand at 954 watts constant draw. Huge difference in consumption.

Soaked them with some microbes and kelp water and took some more fans that was in the way.. Had to sacrifice two branches that was going to cause issues later on and they are sure sticky and smelly..👌👍🔥

Some update pics.. Safe weekend to all traveling to the GardenRoute for the Expo and be safe guys and gals..😷

Morning guys and gals.. We having a real cold spell.. Was blessed with a heater fan.. But now I realise having fresh air pulled into the room is a must with the extra heat... The tents are in a 6x6 room and stand open most of the time.. With the extra heat it's as if you can smell they need fresh air..

      'Olla Bromigos!
Getting started a little later this year than last, rain around this time in my neck of the woods played havoc with seedlings last year.
For this Season I am firmly in the Local is Lekker corner, and will be running a bunch of @Totemicand some @Bay Seeds sourced a while ago from the Legends at @Cannabist. Thank you all for the great deal and freebies! Very grateful and super keen 🙃

So here we go! Up first 2 each of:
      Totemic - Green Gelato. Reg
      Totemic -Strawberry Deluxe. Fem
Totemic - Strawberry Sugar Cookies. Fem
Bay Seeds - AK Royal x Lemon Jedi X Choc Gelato. Reg
Totemic - Gelato x Cherry CBD. Reg

All seeds soaking since 4PMish, dechlorinated water with a spritz of Biodyne and BioBizz Root juice.
Some king sized seeds, some so big they got stuck in the container and needed prying out.

Very keen to get started! Some will go straight into pots from here, others via ziploc and paper towel route. Don't have enough side plates to separate 5 diff strains in paper towels etc. Will give the Fems the special treatment and let the Regs go au natural.

I see a taproot root popping, can you spot it ?
Will update later how and in what medium il start it of with.
I do have extra Tortoni seeds that's why there are 4 .

Welcome to my grow diary 🙂  Dare I say this competition should be interesting 😃
Seeds in water and to be planted out later today. Loved seeing the dark colours on the seed, very different to what I have usually seen 😎
Good luck to all taking part 😃
