Hi all,

The three remaining ladies are coming on very nicely for week 7/8. They will be receiving a transplant, defoliation as well as LST'ing soon, but here are the latest pics so long. I'll soon be choosing the participating lady, how will be hard to say as they all seem equally happy ๐Ÿ˜•

They have recently received a cocktail of Biogrow, Fish mix, molasses, aminomix, kelpak and biodyne evironoc 401.ย

Conditions are about 19-24ยฐC on average, and RH 59-80%.

Hi Psy, they are in 5L Freedom pots, and will be transplanted into 10L Freedom pots soon, and then before flowering might I go 20L depending on the root space left in two weeks time!ย ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Ahh alright, I went straight from my plastic pots of around 5 - 7L to 20L fabric pots which they are currently in.

Why not consider going straight to 20L pots? I'm really just curious ๐Ÿ™‚ย

Ah that's great! Well, to be honest, I have 10L velcro freedom pots laying around, and have to wait until payday before I can buy 20's. Lol. I have 40L ones too, but that might be unnecessary regarding the short veg period.ย

ย

I'm gonna open them up in 2 weeks time, to see how far the roots have progressed into the new medium, and whether I will need to buy 20's or stay in the 10's.

Hi All,

I've chosen my female entrant, as the others don't show their genders as clearly.

Transplanted to a 10L Freedom Pot, LST'ed and defoliated during the week. The medium added is the same, only this time I've added some fine and coarse zeolite, as well as some bone meal and again some mycoroot.

Good morning,

Yesterday I transplanted the Chocolope to a 40L Freedom pot, as well as other plants who'll be filling the open slots in the tent.

I've recharged the spent organic promix (mostly 60% coco and 30% perlite and 10% vermiculite) with some organic additives (turbo grow, rock phosphate, diatomaceous earth, mycoroot, calcium carbonate, powdered kelp, worm castings, zeolite, bonemeal, Trichoderma).

Thereafter it was watered with about 6L of rainwater - to which plenty of Environoc was added - ensuring an evenly moist growing medium.

As soon as the plants have adjusted I will resume training and defoliation, before initiating flowering.

Very nice, 40L is huge! Do you find a benefit in using th 40L pots over 20L pots when on such a time constraint?

ย

Also do you use bottle / powder feeds as well or just soil amendments?

Haha, I'm not sure about benefitting in such a short Veg time, although I believe the roots can run nice and freely now as they wish. I merely went with 40L pots as I had those laying around andย  wouldn't need to go and spend more money on 20L right now ๐Ÿ™‚

ย

I use both soil amendments as well as liquid fertilizers/additives, like the Biobizz range. Nice thing about using both is you have to use much less of the liquid stuff through the grow, and the soil/media can easily be used for a 2nd grow without recharging, especially on Indicas ๐Ÿ˜„

Also a while back you asked about the cool close-up shots I took, sorry for never responding to that. It was my very talented and awesome fiancee who took the pictures through the x45 microscope with her smartphone ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ahh alright, makes sense then. 40L makes my 20L pots feel tiny, haha.

ย

Is it a proper microscope or a magnifier / loupe which was used?

Lol they are kinda massive, 9 x 20L pots would be more ideal for a 1x1 area, but I don't have that many pots of even as much candidates for flowering ๐Ÿ˜•

It was no fancy microscope, but merely the plastic x45 chinese one that has a mini led light built-in.

Good evening,

ย

The Chocolope female branches have just been topped, and earlier in the week she was defoliated. Rain water with some biogrow, fish mix, aminomix and kelpak was also applied.

Conditions are about 19-25 ยฐC and 64-80% RH.ย

Good evening!

I have in the last week done some more training as well as defoliation, and have fllipped to 12/12 today. I know it might be a bit late but I felt I needed a bit more structure.

We'll see how it goes and hopefully it cam reach maturity by the closing date. They were also fed with rain water containing some molasses, kelpak, biogrow, fish mix, biobloom, aminomix and environoc 401. Conditions are between 21 and 26ยฐC, and RH is 60 -75%. RH will have to be lowered with time, by watering slightly less than needed, and doing another defoliation during week 3.ย

๐Ÿ

Ps. I Hope everyone's flowering session turns out a great one!

Good morning,ย

I almost forgot to add my diary entry, but here it is. I can notice that the plant is preparing all the bud sites whilst stretching a bit.ย

Due to all the additives in the soil, I've been giving her only RO water the last two times after the full Veg/Bloom cocktail, just to make sure I'm not overwhelming her, and so far she seems to be happy. Humidity is a bit high, bit that's due the room I am using ๐Ÿ˜• but I'll be monitoring it closely, and I'm sure the defoliation in next week will help a bit.ย

Some of the stray branches I'll be training back when they've stretched a bit more.ย

Good afternoon all!

I'm two weeks into flowering and I think it's going well. The Chocolope has received some rain water containing only Biobloom, and it also has recently been massively defoliated for the last time.

Temperatures have been a bit low, but I'm hoping the warm days that are ahead will help, as I can't afford running my heater anymore (the con of growing with LED in winter is how cool it runs - quite the opposite of winter, but I'm planning on swopping my Mars Hydro192 reflector out for a Lumii Solar CDM 315, for more output as well as more heat within the tent).

ย

Humidity is also quite high most of the time, even after defoliation, although not in the high 80's anymore, but high 70's, and it's due to growing within a room which has no insulation and a very humid environment, but I'm hoping the Lumii CDM light setup will help dry out the air in the tent at least.

I'm also realizing the 4x 40L Freedom Pots might have been overkill in a 1mยฒ tent, as I've recently seen plants grow big enough in 5L plastic pots, so next time I'll stick to 10L Freedom Pots, which, together with the air pruning that the material pots promotes, should be enough for flowering all the way, and maybe dry out faster and contain less moisture, which in turn should mean the humidity would drop down lower than it does now. So we learn! ๐Ÿ˜›

Loving how nice everyone's grows are turning out, must be the good genetics!

Looking good, the 40L pot give you more space to train I guess and force you to fit less plants into the same sized tent.

ย

Also if the pots dry out quicker, it means more time spent watering which can be a serious hassle - for me at least.

I find my 20L pots go dry in around 3 days now.ย
