  1. So I had extra coco, a volunteering plant and the will to try something. So I potted a Mendocino Skunk from a 25L to a 45L pot and waited 2 weeks to see if she reveged. But she just kept in flowering. I started feeding her flowering nutes tonight at a ph of 5.5. The runoff was 6.2. Not sure if thats good or not but the lady is looking fine. I defoliated her and cleaned up at the bottom
  2. GERMINATION: My first three seeds went into baggies on the evening of 9th September. The first popped on 11th and the remaining two popped on 12th. They are in cups in Western Cape coastal, mountain soil, and the first has popped it's cotyledons. The remaining two look set to pop cotyledons later today or tomorrow. The weather is now suitably above 13 degrees most of the time, so the sprouts will be able to metabolize. Spring has sprung and new leaves are starting to show all around the garden. Of our local landraces, I favour the Transkei. It has a beautiful clean high, creative, sociable and euphorically energizing. I am hoping to do a comparative grow with a different batch of Transkei origin seed and if I get lucky I might get a male out of this grow. I have tried harvesting pollen and it is not easy for me, but I hope to get it right this season if I am lucky enough. I am going to grow in the dark loamy soil in the garden, which is on a mountainside overlooking a bay. I am strongly considering Hugelkulture with some homemade amendments. I will take some Myccorhizae samples from the fynbos and inoculate my soil before transplanting. Last season I developed my own basic kasteel combo bug control juice, which I will treat the leaves with as a preventative measure. I will feed with Lactobacillus, kelp, castings and chicken poop. I will also mix in some bokashi bran when building my pile. If I can get hold of a small quantity of alfalfa pellets I will mash some of those in too.
  3. Thanks for the help getting to this point everyone. Proper seeds are ordered and will be delivered soon. Following advice from @Prom I will start growing those at the end of this month. In the meantime I decided to pop some bag seeds to do a trial run. The plan is to grow them for a month in some homemade canna soil I found at nursery not far from my flat according to a google search. I put their details in my Post about Durban supplies. I'll attach a pic . Checked this morning and 3 had sprouted already. 1 had a taproot that was already around 1cm long. Maybe there is something to this full moon thing after all! Moved the 3 sprouts into a seedling tray and watered well. The other 3 are back on the modem. Little tray of joy Settling in on the windowsill till the weather settles
  4. What up growmigos So got abit bored and wanted to do 1 last run before the year is up. Gona give the autos a break for now. STRAINS Regulars - Choc Gelato x Ghost Train Haze (5) shout out to @Totemic Feminized - White Rhino (5) Bag - OG Kush (3) Started off in small pots. Was all i had. And due to this not being an auto run, they would need transplants later on. ( i wanted to start small and then select the best babies to be transplanted.) Due to the unpredictability of the bag seeds and the regulars i decided to pot a few and see which will be worthy of a transplant. Im going to try and keep them outdoors for now. As my grow box currently has the Mixed auto run. If sprouting and growing goes well. I will then put them in the grow box and let the autos grow outdoors. (The autos havnt started flowering yet, so waiting on that) Seeds poted today. So first watering should be in a couple of days. Weather is bleek this week so pots not drying up too much. ✌
  5. Howzit fine people. Next run on the go. Next seed supplier on the hit list "Groen seeds" . . . They had a special on that i couldnt resist. So apparently these are autos. But unknown strains. They had a bag of 5 autos for 100 bucks. I also ran out of pots. So had to make a plan. According to my estimates. They are in 12 liters of soil. And the small pot is a 8 liter. Potted on thursday morning. 14-10-20 Freedom farms soil. Biobizz nutez.
  6. Aweh, So my one plant is starting to turn brown on the tips on and I'm sure its not nutrient burn, could it be a potassium deficiency and how would I be able to fix it? If its not potassium deficiency please help me identify what is wrong. Thanks in advance
  7. So I decided to grow some autos outdoors to replenish my stash while I mainline the Ethos ladies. I grabbed a 5 pack of Fastbud's C4 but lost 4 of the seedlings to heavy winds. The remaining survivor went in the cupboard to help her get established before facing the outdoor forces. I slowly introduced her to life beyond the wall till she started pushing pistils recently.
  8. Hey all Finally got my beans in the ground. My goals are are potency, flavour and yield and my setup is as follows: Outdoor on my balcony Strains - all Dutch Passion and bought from Trophy Seeds. 2 x Auto Blueberry 1 x Auto Orange 1 x Auto Daquiri Lime Medium: Freedom Farms Premier Organic Mix - the green bag Pots - 7 gallon Grow Guru fabric pots Nutes: Full Biobizz Line All seeds were germinated using the cotton pad method. One of the Blueberries took some time to show a root and it's currently in it's pot. I'm still waiting for it to break soil. I'm just misting with water and I've added about 2,5 ml of coconut water to the mix. Day One - 27 September 2020 Cheers
  9. Was lucky enough to arrange a small batch of clones from @SkunkPharm Many thanks for hooking me up with the superior AAA+ genetics --- I'm incredibly grateful!! Have prepped & labeled the pots, will be collecting clones shortly, after which I'll upload images This grow diary will be documenting the following 3 strains gifted to me by @SkunkPharm 1x - Alien Tarantula (Obsol33t Genetics) 1x - Orange Cake Kush (Ethos) 1x - Slurricane (In-House Genetics) Super excited to grow these ultra dank strains - #My3Wives
  10. Aweh, so I just wanna double check with you guys and makes sure that this problem is spider mites. I am using neem oil but I guess I have to make it stronger.
  11. Hi all I'm going to put some pics up here of some Durban x Columbian plants that I kept from cuttings of the last round of seed pops. They have just been put to flowering photoperiod this afternoon and should take about 12 weeks to finish. #2 #6 If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer.
  12. Howzit guys, My name is clayton from the south of Johannesburg, outdoor and greenhouse grower Any tips and tricks welcomed to make it through the winter times. Regards,
  13. Hi everyone, First time posting here. So here is photos of my plants that's been growing since last year October until now. Apologies if the photos are not in order from start to where they are now. Medium: Coco, Vermiculite, Pearlite ((Topped with a layer of sterile sand)) Think these are 8L buckets. They are very small Feeding: Manual hydro feed every day by hand Sometimes the rain helped a bit Feeding schedule: Feed Feed water, Feed feed water etc. Foliar Feeding every water day at 4pm Strains: No idea xD Germinate day: 3rd October 2019 Environment: Outdoor under 10% Shade netting on top, Insect netting on the sides Had to move some of them to the outside, as space was a problem Would appreciate it if anyone can help identify the strains. Do excuse the top colas of the sativas thats touching the roof (I know i cringe as well but those ones want to reach heaven it seems. Enjoy
  14. Hi All new and novice grower here, and need some help. Iv just planted 2 strains now. A white widow and a Northern blue tut. I succesfully germinated both seeds in the glass of water method, they both had a small taproot form but as soon as the tip appeard maybe 1-2 millimeters i planted them in a coco peet pre nutrition mix. About 2 cm deep in soil Now the white widow did fine its already appeared and making progress it took about 2 days to rise above the soil the king tut however hasnt. Just wandering if somethings wrong or is this a stain that might take longer to sprout. and whats the longest youve waited for a strain ( maybe indica strain) to sprout after planting. Conditions might not be perfect as summers coming to an end, its slightly colder at night, but iv been told indicas do slightly better in cold than sativas dues to their origins, but soil is damp not wet and not dry, its basically an outdoor setup, but after about 4:30 i put them under a basic 100w regular garden LED. for extra light. Any help would be appreciated.
  15. So curiosity bit me and VERY fascinated by these plants when flowering and thought I'd give it a very cheap go! Bare in mind I'm not a pro or as well prepared as most guys here so here goes... Bought some cheap potting soil, compost, vermiculite and Nitrosol and started germination process Mixed the compost 40% Soil 40% and vermiculite 20% Put germinated seeds in 1kg Stork butter tubs They get sunlight when available during the day and will go under lights in a little makeshift growbox until strong enough to transplant to bigger 10L pts. progress up to now is going ok and I don't know what strand they are as I got them and was simply told its outdoor These looks like two different strands as 2 more leggy ones was germinated a week later but has longer stems than the others... The smaller ones sprouted 22 May so 7 days ol The leggy ones sprouted yesterday morning
  16. Hey everyone, GreenBeans here, still new to growing although this is not my first grow. All of my previous grows were autos, some from bulk seed bank and a couple from Dutch Passion. I decided to try out growing photos. But to keep it cheap coz its just an experiment, i used some bag seed from my brothers skunk. So in all honesty i have no idea what these plants are, and just trying to get them to harvest. I started them indoors under some cfls and moved them outside about two weeks before christmas
  17. So one of my friends gave me 2 seeds a fem blueberry og and a auto mazar Both seeds broke ground on Christmas morning Lets see how a auto does and see if it is worth it
  18. Hey guys The plants in this grow are all mixed from bags of weed ordered over time, discovered them ina bag with about 30+ seeds. So i started germinating and success, they sprouted. Dont know what strains to expect, so please if you can identify any, please share. Will post weekly to see development. I suppose i can also expect a few males in there.
  19. Hey guys, Completely new to growing. thrown a few seeds around to see what they do in the past, but never followed through. was hoping you guys could give me some advice, I'm planning an outdoor grow for this season, don't plan on investing too much, around R1500. the issue is I'm really unsure of which route I should go. Coco or organic soil. I've been looking into it, and the coco option is really appealing to me, but it seems daunting, and expensive for what i had in mind, and the organic option seems fine, but I'm not aiming for "fine". I made two separate lists for whichever grow I decide on. Coco perlite hortimix a,b and mpk (from hydroponics.co.za) 3x 20l Fabric pots (although I've read around 11l pots are good enough for coco) found a very inexpensive tds and ph meter combo on bid or buy, its the same model the hydro stores stock for around 400. some calmag, ph up & down and then the organics list is not as comprehensive, because I went down the coco rabbit hole. soil (obviously) considering the freedom farms premium blend, or the hydroherb promix organic which is 50l for around R300, but i cant find enough information on the ingredients, also found something called orgasoilux. 3x 20l Fabric pots maybe some perlite? all the potting mixes I've seen, say they feed for s short time, so which nutrients does one add after that period? would some vermicompost do? or would i be better off going for the hortimix combo as it can be used in organic soil too, but then the water has to be ph'd to make it available to the plant. basically I'm really keen on the coco, because I'm looking for quantity and quality bud, but I don't want to invest too much, and be too inexperienced to actually get a good yield, or even worse kill the plants. does anyone use the hortimix a,b and mpk, is it simple? I'm planning on getting some feminized seeds too. the royal gorilla, silver haze and utopic haze. will they do alright in our climate? can anyone suggest some good strains for outdoor container growing? whats the best local seedbank? any that have a no germinating return policy? thinking of going with biltong and buds or cannasmiths, thoughts? any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
