  1. Overgrown and biltong and budz Stay away from Cannabist Sent from my SM-A528B using Tapatalk
  2. What you looking for and how many? You can try www.seedandclone.co.za They seem new to the scene, usually new guys are eager to do a good job (except Cannabist that one time )
  3. Hello @Cannabist, I received an Easter special email, are you guys operating!??! I would possibly like to order something?
  4. I was surfing and ran into some seeds i want to try, Sour Juice Regulars, at Cannabist. Communication is still not their best.. but can't really complain as beside the 12 seeds i bought, they packed 40.. forty! extra seeds. As the seeds I wanted were 50% reduced too.. hell of a deal Wasn't the fastest.. but we had Xmas and New Year also in between, also was in no rush, so happy chap on this side of the deal
  5. Hi guys, we are supper stocked to be back and being active in the community again We know towards the end of mid last year / import on demand orders were killing us and we were pissing off clients. We believe we have resolved 99.9% of all the orders that were delayed, HOWEVER if you feel that you didn't get your money's worth or the items you orders (Swapped out for other stock), please drop us a email at sales@cannabist.co.za or PM us and we will see what we can do. The way in which we handled the stuff ups was unacceptable and we have changed our service levels and offering entirely to only sell what we have stocked in SA with us - No backorders what so ever. We have set out clear service level agreements in order to ensure we respond in a timely manner - Please see the info on this section https://www.420sa.co.za/forum/135-customer-support/ This has been agreed to by 420SA.co.za, failing to meet these SLAs will result in permanent removal so we are taking it seriously. We thank the admins/members of 420SA for allowing us back, and will be working hard to keep SA growers happy.
  6. Hi everybody, Apologies if this is not the best intro. I'm actually having an issue with www.Cannabist.co.za. Order has been paid (local seed: value R600) and it has been over 48h and still haven't received any confirmation email. The owner is also not responding via sales@cannabist.co.za. Proof of Payment had also been sent. Please, anybody's assistance will be greatly appreciated. Regards David
  7. As anticipated, people are still joining up to vent their frustrations with Cannabist... rightfully so! I would too... To avoid a pile up of related threads I am creating this post for members to link to when necessary, shortly thereafter the thread will be deleted. The situation It's gotten to the point where the number almost seems like hundreds, but there have been a very large of number of people who have joined 420SA to find out what they can do about their order that has not been fulfilled by Cannabist. This has been going on months now after the lockdown started and the common thread that has developed is that there is ZERO communication from Cannabist and this can draw out for weeks, even months. What's their excuse? Their excuse is the lockdown... a terrible excuse but it's their excuse nonetheless. Have you been scammed? No.... well at least not from the onset and Cannabist has been operating legitimately for the last year or so. We suspect there may be a break in their supply chain, a terrible error of judgement on their part which has screwed everyone over including themself. They are for the most part a drop shipping bank i.e. they take your money, pay it onto their supplier who will then send the seeds. Something has gone very wrong in the whole process So what now? Firstly, drop your expectations of being helped soon. They seem in no rush to value you as a customer and will not rush to inform you of when you might be getting your seeds. As they are a seedbank you unfortunately don't have the consumer protection act to help you, although I'm not 100% clued up on that. We'd suggest that you pursue other seeds in the mean while but continue to put pressure on them to fulfill your order. Put pressure on OZOW to remove them Ozow is a payment platform they recently signed up. Alert them to your situation and get other buyers to do the same! https://ozow.com/ Good luck out there!

  11. 3 out of 3 Seeds of the Cannabist Grandaddy Purple Fast Fem germinated in Jiffy pellets that I buffer myself as well. I have had 100% success rate with this method: I am no pro but it works for me so maybe someone might benefit from this.. Soak Jiffy Pellets in Buffering solution(50g Calmag salt in 20l water) for 12 hours. Press out most of the solution without breaking the lining. Rinse with tap water and press out excess water. Make a nutrient solution as per specifications and soak the pellets for a few minutes. (I used Vitalink Coco Max SW A+B @ half a ml to 1l water each PHed to 6.2) Press out most of the water and fluff up the peat inside the lining. Carefully place the seeds about 1cm into the pellet, place in a warm dark place until first sign of germination. If the peat dries out before the first sign of germination, use the nutrient solution above to moisten the pellet. (Note that if the pellet is too wet, your seedling might die due to 'dampening-off') Move under a 18/6 light cycle. (I use a 250W MH) Note: If you are unsure of the wet/dryness of your pellet, practice on some bagseeds until you find the sweet-spot. I grow in 100% Washed and Buffered Coco Coir. (I might do a tutorial on this in future as I think that Coco is the best grow medium "better than soil" for our plants but people experience issues because it was never properly washed or buffered.) Follow along for updates. Next: Transplant to Coco in grow bags. I have more than 1 Strain growing concurrently but this thread is dedicated to the Local Genetics.

  13. Literally all this Cannabist dude needed to do from the beginning.
  14. Haha once a cannabist, always a cannabist
  15. Im supposed to send stock tomorrow. Hope its still operating. He bought like 9k worth of autos from me a few monthes ago and never listed them. Hope everything is ok with cannabist. 200 tiny plants. Aiming for this size lol really. Then reveg.
  16. Looking lekker man. Also good to hear Cannabist is still operating. Went dark on me with any comms for months up to now.... glad he is fine though...
  17. Most of the autos have been chopped and are curing nicely. Getting empty upstairs. Mostly photoperiods remaining. Starting 200 regular photoperiods to hunt phenos, starting them in L1.25 pots and just letting them stay outdoors, they will soon start to flower as the days are getting shorter and colder. Im looking for a gassy purple skunks. Had enough of the sweet flavours. Repot and 18/6 reveg and keep clones. All from the ripper seeds stuff crossed with totemics chocolate gelato F2 . If you want to join the hunt these will be available on cannabist as 50 seed packs. Still breeding only autos in the tent. Anastasia 99 cross AK47 auto. The T1000 photoperiod leaning over is a reveg attempt.
  18. So I was browsing the Internet last season, more or less end of season, and in the process startes browsing local seedbanks to see whats out there. So I noticed a "free seeds" section and of course I checked it out and saw Chocolate Gelato on test a testers needed base, i guess and did a fake checkout to see what I needed to buy to get this deal. I did not complete the checkout cause I just figured lets leave it cause I don't have cash now anyhow. Couple days later I received an envelope with feminized seeds, some rolling papers ans a sticker. All they asked was to do a test grow here. So here we go.... @Cannabist, @Totemic I received 5 x seeds and planted 3 for this season. 2 popped and is alive. The 3rd one did not make it sue to human error. I'm not sure what the Sativa/Indica ratio is and the genetics either and I am hoping for Totemic for that answer and maybe a few tips.. They have been watered and fed with Humigro yesterday morning and they are responding well to it. Soon they should go to their bigger pots homes in the garden..
  19. 'Olla Bromigos! Getting started a little later this year than last, rain around this time in my neck of the woods played havoc with seedlings last year. For this Season I am firmly in the Local is Lekker corner, and will be running a bunch of @Totemicand some @Bay Seeds sourced a while ago from the Legends at @Cannabist. Thank you all for the great deal and freebies! Very grateful and super keen So here we go! Up first 2 each of: Totemic - Green Gelato. Reg Totemic -Strawberry Deluxe. Fem Totemic - Strawberry Sugar Cookies. Fem Bay Seeds - AK Royal x Lemon Jedi X Choc Gelato. Reg Totemic - Gelato x Cherry CBD. Reg All seeds soaking since 4PMish, dechlorinated water with a spritz of Biodyne and BioBizz Root juice. Some king sized seeds, some so big they got stuck in the container and needed prying out. Very keen to get started! Some will go straight into pots from here, others via ziploc and paper towel route. Don't have enough side plates to separate 5 diff strains in paper towels etc. Will give the Fems the special treatment and let the Regs go au natural.
  20. And here we are finally... It's been an agonizing wait for many of you, for some of you the wait will have been worth it. This growoff has produced many quality grows, many more than our previous growoff and big up to all of you who made it till the end. I would gladly smoke bud from any of your trees! Without any further blabbering let's get straight to the point and announce our winners Please note that winners of overall prizes are ineligible for the category prizes Category Prizes The Fattest Cola @CreX Best Grow Diary @McMan DIARY LINK Best Trained Plant @Prom Overall Prizes 3rd Place @iGrowDagga 2nd Place @SkunkPharm Our Champion @mantis 1st place was a VERY tough decision to make for us. Mantis and Skunkpharm both produced superb grows. Both with differing appealing qualities. What it ultimately came down to was which grow had the least flaws and @SkunkPharm I'm afraid your small thrips infestation is what counted against you and tipped the scale in favour of @mantis. It was a margin as fine as that. As I say though, you guys both produced two very solid grows. The simple way to put how we judge this competition is we are looking for the grow that is the most "Pro". Would the grow be accepted according to an indoor commercial grow operation standard. Those are harsh but necessary standards, and the same applies here in this comp. Meeting the criteria is key. Thank you to all of you who came along for this ride. Congratulations to all our winners Thank you to our genetics sponsor Thank you to @Totemic for sponsoring the genetics that I feel did really well overall this comp. Very promising for the future indeed! And of course our generous prize sponsors @Light It Up @Aeradix Green Smoke Room @Cannabist Green Grow Room @ExploGrow @Golden-Goose @THCSA (TheHighCo.) @Futurama Hydroponics Till next time!
  21. Day 67. With the load shedding and opportunistic night dweller's digging up power cables our power supply gonna be unstable for the next few weeks. So with a heavy heart I grabbed the snips. Was hoping on another week. To all the sponsors @Totemic, @Light It Up, @Aeradix, GSR Seeds, @Cannabist, Green Grow Room, @ExploGrow, @Golden-Goose, The High Co and @Futurama Hydroponics thanks for making this possible. Then let's not forget @420SA for pulling this together. Had a great time and most of all I learnt so much so shout out to all you out there. Looking back I ended up investing some on grow equipment and my little tent kitty has already been started. T3 the entrant that could have been.
  22. Watsup everyone. Finally I have managed to finish my 480w LED light which I have been busy with for the last 6 months, or rather delayed for the last 6 months. Work has been abit hectic and haven't been home to work on any projects. I managed to make some time and if it wasn't for a good friend that put the flames under my ass, I probably never would have finished it. @John Stonedwell I had a thread open about the wiring of a 480w light but as I kept the wiring the same as in the diagrams I used from LEDgardener, I thought I would just start a new thread rather. At no time would I say that this build is cheaper than buying from Alibaba but it was an adventure I wanted to take and I have learnt alot about it. Plus I have a brand new 480 watt LED Grow light. The build is an example on the LEDgardener website which I was introduced to by @Cannabist Here goes. These are the following items I used: 12x bridgelux 3500k led strips (bought off of digi-key) 480w meanwell driver 480H-42A (bought off of digi-key) 6m of aluminium bar (6mm thick and 76mm wide)(bought at aluminium trading) 6m of aluminium angle (side are 12mm wide and 1.6mm thick) 6m of 3core flexi black cable (soft like extension cord cable) 10m of 2core twinflex (harder mouldable cable) Plastic coated steel ferrels Couple of meters of heatshrink Chocolate blocks (through and through connectors) 8x wago connectors (can be found at hardware shops) Waterproof 3 core connector 3 point plug 12mm plastic squares for corners Wondafix glue Plenty of little screws So to begin I had to get alot of the dirty work out of the way. I decided to group my strips into 4x groups of 3x strips. So basically it would be 4 bars with 3 strips on each. I measured the width and length and figured the aluminium bars I had were wide enough to take 3 strips each. Making wiring abit easier and I used less wires than expected. Note that all bars were cut to 1.2m to fit the led strips and to fit into a 1.2m tent. I think I cut them even shorter just to make sure they fit in the tent as the tent isn't exactly 1.2m . Anyway. Not going to be doing the exact measurements as I can't really remember. So all the bars were cut to size and I decided to drill holes throught the bars to mount the strips. I aimed for 5 screws per strip. Way too many I would say but anyway. I also threaded all the holes so I didn't have to use little nuts to tighten the screws, even though that is not a bad idea because the threading took kak long. I had to thread the bars twice as a friend and I made several mistakes (under the influence of beer and weed). I also used a heatpaste to transfer the heat from the strips through the bars, and what a serious waste of time. The strips, even though 3 on one bar, doesn't get anywhere near hot enough to be concerned. I honestly think its like 21 degrees or something. Don't waste your time and money on that crap. Also it doesn't dry out like normal silicone and rather stays "wet" forever. It can become a very messy storey. I used 2 screws on each side of the bars when mounting to the angled pieces just to make sure I won't have any sort of swaying on pivot points. This was just to stabilize the build. I also did not shorten the angled aluminium simply so that it could keep its position nice and centered in the tent and not lean to one side. I made sure to use plastic squares to plug the corners so they don't tear into the tent. As you can see their sizes weren't perfect but I squeezed them on and they stayed there. No glue and shit. Once I had all 12 of the led strips mounted onto the bars and all the bars mounted onto the angled aluminium, it was time to start the wiring. So, as some of you may know that followed the wiring thread, there was alot of questions about the driver and why it had the two outputs etc. I am not going to discuss why they have two outputs on but I can assure it is for a good reason and probably for safety (some electricians said I could use just one of the outputs as it wouldn't matter, which I understand buuuuuuut it was designed like that for a reason, so I used both. Less of a fire hazard). Firstly I connected the main power cable which was 3 core, and extended the input cable of the driver with the 3 core flexi cable I got, and also connected a 3 point plug onto the end so I can plug it into a wall socket. Lol. I used the waterproof connector to connect the cables and created a nice long extension of the drivers' input cable. This helps alot as I don't have to struggle with extension cables. I then used some of the 3 core flexi cable to extend my outputs from the driver. I connected them with the coated ferrels and then used the heatshrink to cover it nicely. Heatshrink is the shit. I love it. Note that the two output cables from the driver have 2x cables in each. So that's two red(+) and two black(-) wires and no earth. The earth cable was then just cut short. At the end of the two outlet cables I just left them open and soldered over the copper to make it a little neater and more solid as those 4x points would go straight into the chocolate block which is mounted on the frame. I did it this way so that if I needed to move and pack up the light, I could just disconnect it from the chocolate block and I would have just 2 pieces to carry around (1x driver and cables, 1x light). As you can see I just used electric fence wire to make the frames hanging cable which I just connected between the bars on the angled aluminium to make sure the whole light does not bend from being too heavy etc. If you connect it to the outer edges you start getting a bend and warp, which then doesn't help with the direction of the lights. I used wondafix to stick all the wago connectors to the back of the bars. When I had to wire the red (+) ends of the bars (3x strips), I just ran 2 red wires from the choclate block to the wago connectors and then spread the power between all the positive ends of the led strips. I also just ran the two black (-) wires across the back of the bars (strips) to the opposite end where all the black (-) connections were and fed them via the wagos. Also I just glued the wires to the back of the bars so they would not move around too much. I also just used cable ties to keep everything neat on the frame. I used twinflex cables for my red and black wires. This wire is semi flexible and keeps the shape you bend it into which is great if you want a permanent built frame with lights etc and no wires dangling everywhere. In order to get it out of the hard white plastic which houses both of them, I would pull the earth and it would strip the red and black from one another. Making it alot easier to work with. I can't tell people not to build their own lights because there are way cheaper options available online which are already built but damn it was an exciting and interesting journey. This is something I have always wanted to do and now I feel like I have the confidence and abit extra knowledge on how to tackle something like this. I really hope this helps someone else deciding if they want to go on a similar journey or not. Hopefully someone could learn from the ideas mentioned and probably better them or personalize them their own way. One positive I found is this thing saves a shitload of space vertically in my tent. Thanks for watching. Note: this is not my design but one of the many on LEDgardener.com
  23. well that sucks man hope they update their shit and get back to you in the end, that's a lot of money to "steal". there really are so many places out there selling seeds and the more of them that pop up the more space it creates for shit to go wrong. not saying they planned to steal your money or anything, what I am trying to say is I saw it happen to a very reputable local seed bank where they went through some difficulties and kinda went awol there for a second, probably turned a whole lot of people against them too and then one day they just made a comeback. now they up and running in full swing. (don't know if you remember the cannabist situation) not sure if they satisfied all the custormer demands that happened during that time, but these are things that happen to businesses. with that looong list of seed banks there are obviously a few that are in full motion with no troubles and I have to agree on Trophy, I ordered from them sort of recently and together with a couple other times I ordered from them they really do deliver satisfactory service and product.
  24. Update pic of the young ones. Soon they will go into bigger pots for sexing. Im pretty sure the Pineapple Chunk will give mostly female, I hope. Really hoping for Bruce Banner fems. Havent had a single female from the whole batch. Just for record, the Chocolate Gelato has their own thread due to them being testers for cannabist. So if you are interested in maybe getting that strain in the future, pop in there and check it out. Here is some info I have on those seedlings I do have ready for the season. These are my own personal description of what I experienced : PINEAPPLE CHUNK : Originally got Pineapple Chunk from Paradise Seeds and one pollinated due to a little stress, I guess. The result so far has been pretty good. The buds is hard, compact and trichome covered. After 2 weeks of curing it does smell like pineapple and after grinding it up as well. It gets me pretty goofed after 2 or 3 pipes and taste decent, smooth and citrussy... Blue Kush Berry: Regular Seeds was purchased from Sannies Seeds more than 5 years ago.Might be 8. Got a male and female and tried my hand at breeding. They were bred under cfl's and the plants was small due to stealth. The seeds were very small and about half the size of regular seeds. Cant remember the profile but stay tuned to find out. Girl Scout Cookies x Bruce Banner#3: GSC - BC Bud BB#3 - Dark Horse Genetics Was given seeds by another forum friend/hobbiest grower/plant guru to test and holy shit, I was blown away. Frosty, hard and sticky Sativa dominant lady. Buds was easy to trim seeing that had a golfball type bud and the bud to leaf ratio was little. Easy to trim and a pleasure to smoke. Gets me through a day of pain. Takes away a lot of tension and gets me lekker stoned. A great night time smoke after a heavy and kak day... Bruce Banner #3 Dark Horse Genetics In hopes of getting a female from this one. Haven't grown it out yet but hoping to this year... Royal Banner: Royal Gorilla - RQS BB - Dark Horse Genetics One of my favorite strains to date. Smells sweet with deep aroma. Upon exhaling I get a pleasant cheese aftertaste. Even though all my strains get me high, this one just knocks me from the 1st inhale and when I keep the hash for last,..... Phew . Slurricane Cheese : Was given as a present from a friend next door. Let try and see what happens 1st time growing this one. Also not sure if its male or female So that's it for now. Have a great Saturday and enjoy the rest of this weekend
