So.... where is the smoke report? Do you cure first before sampling? I was always sample straight off the vine.

Haha yeah only put the plants through the trim bag yesterday. Will give them at least 2 weeks in the jar before the taste test. But looking and smelling great already

60cm tent. Crazy Haze: Flower Day 55. Oh yay...bud rot. Going to have to stay vigilant til harvest. Yes, it's my fault, I'm guilty. Buds all mashed together because I'm a serial trainer apparently.

Training is so therapeutic though.. and your canopy building is excellent. We have had a rather wicked humid summer so just a bit of bad luck. You still own every inch of space in the tent and that's commendable. Keep on trucking bro.

Sure you don't want to wait another week? They look perfect.. but ^^ also very very green and happy. I would let em fatten up more, they still have plenty of energy.

Hey man, thanx for the input. Yeah I could have probably pushed a little more.

Unfortunately they are upside down in the closet already...

Next time I will look to wait for a bit more fade.

  4. Hi folks,

I harvested all 6 ladies today on day 68. Beautiful terps pushing through and rock solid nugs on most plants.

Orange road has a pronounced citrus/gas terps. Old Widow and MOB might be oneasier of my favourite terp profiles. Will post some nug pics and smoke report in a couple of weeks.

Hey bud, I like the short and sweet style of your journal. I'm looking forward to the smoke report. By the way... Orange Road ranks as one of my all time greatest smokes. We didn't find that particular pheno. That distinction goes to a customer of ours. We are desperately trying to get our hands on that cut. Negotiations are under way, and we have been promised a cut in about a month. Fingers crossed.

Thanx man. Yeah I didn't really have time to deep dive on the diary but atleast I was able to give some perspective on the OSG range.

Orange road is also looking bang on and smells insane. A buddy has a cut and will run her in coco with scrog so she might even express better under the more ideal circumstances. Hopefully she smokes just as well and will make sure to close of with some feedback.

    Cheers

  6. Hi folks,

So I haven't been active on the forum for quite some time as life got a bit hectic but hey, what's new..

I decided to post this short and sweet grow diary for anyone who is perhaps interested in growing some specific strains to have an idea of what they might get.

Most of the tent is currently filled up with some Old School Genetics strains from @Golden-Goose

    Lineup as follows:

    Orange Road - OSG

    Old Widow - OSG

MOB x Old Widow - OSG

    Blue D no.5 - OSG

    Larry OG - OSG

    Chempie - Ripper seeds

    MOB - TH Seeds

    Start of grow:

With this grow I didn't want to spend a shitload to get it started. I used old Freedom Farms soil from previous grows. No amendments  just a decent flush that left the soil rather barren. The idea was to then use left over Biobizz Grow and Seagro to get the adequate nute levels. This was a bit difficult at first but turned out alright at the end of the day.

I chose a very cold and kak time to germinate the seeds and didn't have any heating pad to assist with the process. Nevertheless I only lost two seeds and had extras of them so could germinate again.

With the wonky circumstances the Orange Road came out like a little mutant plant and I almost wanted to yank it and start over. A buddy advised that I let it be and boy was I happy that he suggested that, you'll see why soon.

    Mutant Orange Road:

    20220607_095555.thumb.jpg.a12b80eadb62f181ae576dfa2c7827c3.jpg

    Vegetative stage:

With all going on life wise my vegetative stage was rather uneventful. I didn't go with my original mainline training technique that I normally do and only decided to do a very late topping that I would come to regret later in flowering as stems started to flop around like a politician trying to explain himself out of kak. With the late topping I also didn't allow for a decent amount of mains to really have that even canopy and baby arm sized nugs. By this stage the Orange Road recovered but was lagging a bit in terms of size.

    Random Veg pics:

    Flowering stage:

Things started to get quite interesting in the flowering stage.... I noticed distinct differences with the morphology of some of the strains. The MOB from TH Seeds was extremely bushy with exceptionally tight internode structure. The Chempie by Ripper seeds started to scare me with her stretch. I have never had a plant stretch like this. More than double the height from the flip which was mad. I could see some staking will need to done on that lady. Atleast my lighting set up has 3 different lights that are adjustable so that saved my ass with her crazy stretch.

Eskom also completely fucked me without remorse and the intermittent light might have messed a bit with the plants.. I unfortunately had a hermie situation with the MOB x Old Widow by OSG at week 4 of flower and had to unfortunately chop her down.. here are some pics

    Late Flowering stage:

At the moment I am close to the end of week 8 of flower and some beautiful terps are pushing through and buds are starting to fatten up nicely.

Favourite strain in the tent is the Orange Road. She is a beast on all fronts! Frost on point, terps a mixture of gas and citrus and gargantuan buds. All the OSG strains have decent tricome production and amazing terps.

The Larry OG has very unique bud development and look like stacked clubs. Blue D no.5 very long colas with quite a nice berry smell to her. Old Widow is nice and compact with quite typical White Widow structure. MOB by TH Seeds is rather disappointing on the size front but rather generous with the tricome so might make a great press for rosin. Chempie could have had bigger buds if I defoliated better and trained more rigorous but all in all it will still be smokable product.

Here are pics as of today

So that in a nutshell is my budget/not enough effort grow to date but I am quite happy. The strains are very impressive and hopefully some fade in the final stretch will prevail and a good drying, curing and smoke that lies ahead.

Will do some last updates to the diary as we move through the final stages. I hope this helped some folks who were pondering about the OSG stable.

    Cheers :-trip

Totemic was really never meant to become a brand, but kind of gravitated that way.

It's always been about actively opposing those laws that would criminalize me for growing, breeding, and sharing that with the community.

My genetics is out there in practically every corner of the country, serving their purpose beautifully, and will echo in other strains they inspire.

It really has been an awesome journey, and while I move onto other things, I'll always be growing.

May your new chapter be blessed man. And thanx for sharing the love. 💪

Beginning of lockdown when fags were expensive I experimented on herbal recipes for my vape while I was waiting for my beer to brew.

One thing lead to another and we now grow a variety of herbs and West Coast Vaper was born.

I get to walk out into the nursery and pick herbs as and when needed for projects now.

A little lavender and rosemary harvest for a pork brisket rub I'm working on for a client.

Unfortunately my CBD grow ended up not being CBD so have a few unhappy customers.

I have just weighed the recent harvest of the 5x ZxP plants. The total for this was 188g. Better yield than the KmintZ even though it was a whole one plant less, which is cool. The bud is looking pretty quality too so I am satisfied. I do want to start bumping these per plant harvests up though.

This card would have just been perfect for Dricus to fight in, lots of eyes and prospects of maybe picking up a few more fans or even sponsors, now he gets nothing this weekend.

They should punish fighters for pulling out less than a week in advance, it completely prevents an alternative fighter because who in the hell could get ready within a week for a UFC match without having already been training up until that point. It completely screws Dricus over.

    My picks for the wins are;

    Volk

    Yan

    Chimaev

    Dern

Couldn't agree more on both replies. Spot on bro :-thumbsup

Yeah unfortunately Kelvin probably saw a couple of vids of Dricus doing his thing and decided it best to get injured quickly to avoid going for a 6 out of 7 loss streak.

Dricus will remain in the USA and train out of Florida for a possible fight in coming weeks.. Let's hope the match makers gets its sorted with a proper match up.

Quick question for our UFC fans - comment with who you have for the following fights...

    Volk vs Zombie

Yan vs Sterling Silver (should have never won gold)

    Burns vs Smesh Chimaev

    Dern vs Torres

Ja, let's do a Joburg Cup. Maybe with a concentrates/hash category too this time. Was thinking September/October.

It will need to be 50g per flower entry this time. Jars ran a bit dry with only 25g.
Gonna start looking for entrants, venue and sponsors.

Would the concentrates include Rosin and how much would be required then?

Very excited for a possible Joburg cup. Would be awesome.

Yeah man that's a huge step up and Gastelum will be hungry for the win om the current win/loss streak he has.

Dricus will struggle to knock him out, I don't think he has been knocked out before. And Gastelum also has some great wrestling if it goes to the ground. Dricus also has a submission game..

Gonna be a a crazy nerve grinding wait for that fight. A win for stilknocks will put him right up there to start challenging top 10 fighters. Amazing opportunity can't wait

    What's up ouens.

I can sit here and say I have wanted to do everyone a favour and skip the boring part of veg but to be really honest, I just wanted to make sure I do not have any fuck ups while posting a diary. I know it is part of the game and that is why we are here...... to learn. I had a bit of a fuckup on my first scrog grow so I was abit hesitant. I managed to isolate the problems which I will briefly discuss in this diary and ironed them out with a couple of minor changes. So here goes.

    • Strain: Mango Sapphire by HSO
    • Medium: Coco/Perlite
    • Nutes: Calmag, GHE/TA TriPart and Ripen always fed at a PH of 6.0
    • Lights: 2x 480watt (DIY build and the other Kingbrite)

10 clones were taken and rooted for 2 weeks. Once they were done, they we moved into small 12cm pots, vegged out for 3 weeks and then only the best 8 would be transplanted to 20cm pots. Vegged for 3 weeks and then transplanted into 20Lt Fabric pots.

When the plants were moved into their 20LT Fabric Forever homes, the net was lowered and the tucking began. Once the net was filled to about 100%, the lights were flipped.

    Day before flip 👆

    Day 2 of Flower 👆

This is where my last mistake was made. Previously, when I flipped the plants into flower after filling the net, something went wrong. I have a slight suspicion the plants did not flip when I flipped and it felt like the stretch went on waaaaay too long before showing any pistils. I think the first bud sites were visible at day 20. This is very late. Even after soooo much defoliation there was still tons of growth coming up. I ended up having a shit ton of bud but everything was popcorn because there wasn't any place for the buds to fatten up. So how I solved it this time was to do a flip but make sure the plants would go into flower. The lights were switched off for about 30 hours and when they came into their first day of flower, I would keep them on an 11 hour on and 13 hour off cycle just to make sure nothing carries on vegging. This seemed to work very well. After day 2 a stretch was already visible and I could see this time it was on the money and that each site would stretch out into their own space.

The ladies ended up stretching so nicely that I had to source an extra net very quickly to help support the buds. Luckily @John Stonedwell came to the rescue and donated a second net to the ladies which they were very happy for 🙏.

The ladies are now on day 46 of flower and should be finshed by the week 8 mark which is in 10 days. They have been getting Ripen until now and soon they will have all the nutes removed with clean water to try get the plants to start fading and consuming the last bit of nutes that is left in them. They will only get clean PH 6.0 water from today until they are done.

So far I am extremely happy with the progress. No hickups at all this time. I feel like this was a good grow and that there will be some very nice product coming out. It is smelling unreal in there. Not strong at all so I am not using a carbon filter this time. I would put it on the very sweet and fruity side. Can't wait to taste them.

Thanks to all the guys on the forum that I have learnt from, spending hours observing every step they take to try immitate their grows has helped me learn and understand what is needed for a succesful grow. I look forward to sharing the last few updates into harvest and eventually a final report on the dried product.

    Thanks for watching.

    Yeah boy.

I usually gradually stop feeding fish mix and by week 5 is when i stop completely which is what i am at now and just feed bloom. The plant is in a 10l pot and i feed every 3 to 4 days depending on how dry the soil is by day 3

    Cool man.

I would stop giving the fish mix at week 4 or even 3. As @PsyCLown said it might also be a lockout and it might be due to fish mix/bloom combo and high N.

What is your ml/L with the two?

If you feed nutes with every watering it can also help to do one off one on with normal water and water with nutes, your intervals sound spot on.
