  1. Howzit okes.

I thought I would revive this thread abit as it's been over a year since I've posted. I have still been growing, but haven't been recording. There have been a few ups and a few downs. A few upgrades here and there. I've learnt to take it easy when it comes to adjusting anything. Often drastic changes can harm your grow.

So the one upgrade I am really stoked about are the autopots. In the 1.2x2.4 tent I used to use 8x20L fabric pots. The runoff was ridiculous and the amount of water runoff I vacuumed was ridiculous. Now I've switched over to 6x15L autpots. Yes yes, I know what you're thinking. What about the yield? Surprisingly enough the yield was more on my last run (1st autopot run) than any other run. This is also excluding air domes at the bottom. Just leca. The air domes are the newest upgrade but haven't flowered in them yet. Will see the results in the next 2 or so months. Overall the autopots have been a fantastic addition and has reduced the amount of work a huge amount. Also using less nutrients.

I made sure the cleanup was on point. This also reduced the amount of trimming I had to deal with and even better.....0 fluff. I repeat. Not a single drop of fluff. The numbers that came out were ridiculous. I have over 1kg of smokeable product. Obviously it is shared amongst a couple of us but what a take.

I checked up on the roots and they looked pretty good to me. Nice and fully developed, and this is without the air domes. I'm very curious as to how much more I would yield with the air domes. I've checked online and the number being thrown around is that you will yield 130%. Now I don't quite know how to read that percentage but what I suspect is they estimate 30% on top of what you would get without them. Please correct me if I'm wrong. So basically. What they're saying is if I got 1kg I could get 1.3kg next? Sounds nuts. But let's see.

I have also been thinking hard about adding bloom booster lights to the existing setup. Basically 240w on top of the existing 960w. That would put me up to 1200w and that would also increase yield. I can't imagine more than what I got but hell, let's see where this road goes.

Please excuse the mess of a write up. I smoked some of the examples above and am struggling to stay focused. Please feel free to ask if I've missed anything.

The strains weren't specific strains but some cuttings from a friend. The one that faded nice and dark purple yielded the most. I'll post the numbers below.

  2. Duuuude!!!! Organic tent harvest looks really good. Nice nugs. And the big tent also looks like its going to be a show.... beautiful.  I wanted to add..... what I have just notived with my next harvest coming up is that my amouny of fluff is less bit still there. I also wanted bigger nugs so I grew the plant bigger. I think the mistakes I mad preciously affects the size of my colas. Even though I have a shitload coming out this batch, the nug size isnt 100% what I want. This might be me comparing mine to a friends harvest which he uses HID lights. Anyway. So what I am going to try now is veg my plants alot bigger and top them way higher. I topped mine way too early and bushed out too much forcing me to flip.  Now I wait till I have atleast 30cm of straight stems before topping. So basically i want to veg them high, top them high and then start training on the net. This gives me more vegging time but less veg if you  catch my drift. Long stems then start branching out and I flip. So vegging will take longer, taller plants but less canopy so I can flip and grow into it. Hopefully giving me bigger nugs. I hope this makes sense. Basically I am trying to make bigger pathways to the nugs. Anyway. Great grow man. Look forward to every harvest.

  3. Absolutely beautiful man. Wow. Really impressed and loooooove the colouration. Please upload a photo of the whole tent (I want to drool over some scrog) and I am sure you will let us know what the final weights are when all done. Well done. Looks tasty

  4. This! Is! The! Way!

I have sometimes gone weeks without smoking flower and just smoked rosin instead. It's also a nice way to give your lungs abit of a break. I don't know if you know but "cold starting" is the best way to spare your nail/banger.

    Rosin is the future.

  5. Welcome to the forum my guy @Bundy. I am sure you will learn alot from the guys around here. Lots of people with plenty of knowledge to go around. I have learnt a tremendous amount about MJ on this forum. Also a real passion for me. Not just smoking, but every little aspect. Hope ypu enjoy your stay. Also..... @Ill_Evan is a showoff 😛. But definitely worth following the mans diary.

This is the scarey part. Cops and logic have never been known to go together. Thats when you have to go to court and spend those hard earned $$$ to get out (even though you are not guilty).

I agree, everyone should have the documents printed and stay safe.

  7. I wonder if those 10x 20l were actually just the pots with the roots in. Sometimes these guys weigh the whole dam pot including soil and say its 20kg of product while it is just dirt.

What saddens me the most is this guy probably thought he was within the law and thats why he let them in. I will never allow them in if I can. The problem is you might be within in the law but the police are maniacs in SA. They will rip all your shit out and confiscate everything. Making it your responsibility to get your equipment back with lawyers etc. So all they end up doing is wasting our tax money and then you end up wasting your own money fighting them, while they use your tax money to fight you back. Its a terrible vicious circle. In the firearm community we sit with the same problem. You apply for a license and maybe they feel like they dont want to give it to you. You then end up spending your own money to fight them in court while they have endless amounts of tax money to fight you back. Even though in the long run you probably will win the case, after you've sold your house and your kids' university savings. I would still err on the safe side. Dont trust those fuckers. They dont know the law.

The Namajunas fight was probably the worst championship fight I've ever seen.

The UFC did Oliveira dirty, Dana is becoming a real cock and balls.

Namajunas' fight was absolute shit. I know there are people posting videos of them falling alseep during the fight. I too fell asleep. Was terrible.

Really wanted gaethje to win but happy for oliviera. Hes been working at it for very long.

Chandler's kick was next level. Crazy good. Glad tony was OK and checked out of hospital quick quick. The guy is a champ.

Shitty about cowboy. Fucking tacos. What the hell. I wouldve thought you would eat a planned balanced meal before fighting. Not just tacos because you made weight. Abit stupid. I was really lookong forward to cowboy.

I see theres attempts to get diaz and chimaev. I dont like that. Thats a pure beat down and dont think diaz would survive it. And i love the diaz bros.

Adesanya vs Cannonier is gonna be epic. If alex perriera beats sean strickland that night, i want to see the izzy fight next. I dont doubt izzy but man I think putting that champ in with someone thats beaten him not once, but twice, would be crazy to just see it happen. Sugarshow and Dricus will both be there. Cant fucking wait!!!!

A few things to take into consideration. I am using Biobizz with just the Organic Tent™ (4 plants) and I am also using the full range; Root Juice, Fish Mix, Bio Grow, Bio Bloom, Top Max, Acti Vera and Bio Heaven. It can get pretty pricey if buying retail. I happened to have quite a bit of the above Biobizz products because I had bought it wholesale some time ago with the intention of reselling but didn't quite manage to sell all of it, so I decided to just give it a shot in a personal grow to see what all the hubbub is about.

I would still probably go for TA because it just works. It's consistent, fewer products and cheaper.

Awesome. Thanks for the info dude. Here I am thinking it is only 3 bottles just like TA Tripart. Thats alot of juice to remember to put in. I also used to just use living soils and had the tripart just sitting there. Until one day I decided to switch over and have never looked back. I prefer the TA Tripart now. Easy to use and just like you said....It works. I should maybe get a couple small bottles of the Biobizz range as I go and maybe one day I will have the same thought process. Maybe I will switch to BioBizz and never look back. But until that day, I will TriPart it all the way.🙏

  10. Wow man. Those plants are looking amazing!!. Very very nice.

The scrog is unreal. Welldone on the cleanup. You are not going to be dissapointment with the yield. It looks really good dude. One thing I need to try is to move over to BioBizz nutes. Im still on the T.A. Tripart train and have alot of liters to get through. Will switch over sometime when all my other stuff is done. Thanks for the inspiration.

I can let the plants come within 5 to 10 cm of the light without light stress, cz it's so soft,

Hey man. Yeah I noticed in my last grow I can also get a little closer. I like to keep it about 30cm, maybe 25cm from the canopy but I am pretty sure I can get nice and close. Maybe 15cm or 10cm. Will check.

    1 hour ago, Naughty.Psychonaut said:

but then like you said, bud quality..... we want those golf ball rock buds. I guess that's where the red diodes come in to make the biggest difference.

🤣😂 Love it. Golf balls are my favorite. I think definitely red diodes and a good cleanup should help.

    1 hour ago, Naughty.Psychonaut said:

example of this is the far red and IR diodes I have in my blurple light. they don't mean shit, just cause the rest of the light is shit😅

I hear you man. Also been on a blurple light and what a piece of shit. Maybe good for vegging. I actually foujd my normal 6400k flood lights do a better job. Lol.

I'll let the guy finish a grow with that light on his own, let him play around with it, will take a look at the results and report everything then see what we gona do to improve 💪

Cant wait man. Would be very cool to see. Please let us know what he produced under that bad boy. Once again. Nice build 👍

  12. Very nice build man. Very nice. I did a build like this not too long ago but I went for the bigger strips. Their measurements were 1100mm in length so was perfect for my 1200mm tent. Plus I only did 4x bars of 3 strips each.

I just recently harvested 2 batches of 1 strain under 2 different lights. The one is the 480w diy build off of LEDgardener and the other a bought 480w from kingbrite. I must admit. With all the effort and time spent making a light (which is a fun process) I found it was cheaper to buy from kingbrite. None the less fun experience.

One thing I want to mention is that with my previous harvest I found the Kingbrite light produced more nugs of good density than the DIY. Wether it is the penetration of light, or the red diodes on the kingbrite, I am not sure. I kind of think it is the red diodes because both lights are 3500K (What K are the strips you got?).So with my next batch under the DIY I will be lollipopping very close to the top to make sure all light penetrates. I am looking at getting 3x bloom booster lights from kingbrite. Still thinking about it. They are 30w red diode lights which I think could fit inbetween my existing light strips which are 3 spaces. Perfect. Only problem is they sell them seperately. I will try convince them to send me 3x lights on one 90w driver instead of 3x 30w drivers. Will see if I can add it to the DIY. Maybe they would sell me the strips seperate and I will just source the correct driver. Anyway. Just a thought. But definitely let your friend know to clean those babies up when flowering. He won't regret it. I could definitely get over 400g of proper prime nugs from that light.

Very nice build. Looking forward to what comes out of it.

Are you washing the trim and fluff? Bubble hash or extracts?

What's up man. I am doing several different things with trim and fluff. I have started pressing some of the fluff through 90micron bags, not big yields but not bad in colour.

    20220428_163600.thumb.jpg.20daf8ae92c3bdf95aa693ee503578df.jpg

    20220410_125740.thumb.jpg.6e77628c406ae9306889a10338efd738.jpg

I haven't had the time to press everything or wash. I have only done 3 presses and smoked up the first ones. I did however use a 160micron sift screen and ran all my trim over it. Got a fair amount of dry sift hash which I also pressed with a 37micron bag but my yield was not great. I got just over 10%. I think I prefer what comes out after a wash and then pressing. I have gotten 40% before out of pressing bubble hash.

  14. I took a set of sift trays from Hydroworks. I have a 73micron and 160micron. It may sound nuts but I barely have anything that comes through the 73. So I just use the 160. I also have bubble hash bags which I got from them too which I love. They are my favourite. I will brobably go bigger and get bags from Hashitall. Reason I mention the bags is because I press my own hash rosin with the bubble. I get much higher yields off my bubble. I think I just suck at the dry sifting. What do you want to do with your sift?

  15. Hoooozit guys.

Thought I would share some final thoughts on my last grow. All the nugs that were exposed to direct light came out extremely dense and hard. Very happy with the outcome. I did however realize that I need to clean up even more. I came out with alot of fluff aswell. Have never experienced this kind of fluff. Underdeveloped nugs that look like leaves with trichome on it and that is it. So we learn.

Drying was abit difficult with space. Did not expect so much but we managed to get them hanging with an average humidity just shy of 60%. We had big rains the first few days of harvest but I was not able to stretch the harvest longer than 10 days. Still came out very nice.

    20220406_140513.thumb.jpg.5a30a4beee3b4c8283cc2d54f4a38704.jpg

The following are the numbers I got off the plants. I harvested each set of 4 plants under each light seperately to try get a better understanding of the two different lights and what product I get from it. I will name them "DIY" for the light I buildt and "KING" for the bought kingbrite light.

    DIY

    Prime Nugs: 312.7g

    Fluff: 353g

    Trim: 326g

    KING

    Prime Nugs: 437.4g

    Fluff: 268.2g

    Trim: 331g

So as you can see from the numbers there is actually a huge difference between the lights in producing dense nugs. I have a feeling the kingbrite having red diodes is what makes the difference. I might actually buy a couple of Bloom booster lights from Kingbrite to supplement my DIY light. Will see. Through the weighing I just learnt what kind of cleaning up I am going to do in the future. Overall I am still happy and having 750g of proper prime nugs. Both batches were also trimmed with a trim bag and was also interesting to see what the bag dig with the fluff. I am defenitely aiming to get 1000g in the next harvest because getting 1g per watt would be very good with these LED lights. I would be over the moon with 1000g. (Just before anyone thinks I smoke kilos of weed, this gets shared between 3 people that are all heavy smokers 😂).

    20220409_142330.thumb.jpg.1cdb5e7084be41c037e6fe6c69ea6f0e.jpg

Over all I am very happy with the harvest and how it came out. I give it a 10/10 for bag appeal. The flavour is nice and fruity, not a specific kind of fruit but like a bowl of fruit. In the flowering stages it reminded me of the smell when you walk into the smoothy section of a fruit shop. I love it. I didn't use a carbon filter this time simply because it was not the over powering smell I would get from other stanky strains. I enjoyed this strain so much that my next grow will be half of it and the other half Cheese donated by @John Stonedwell. Super excited for that grow. Will just add it to this diary. Unfortunately there might be a mistake that was made in the transplanting when I was not available and I think we might have the Cheese and Mango mixed under the scrog. Not a problem though. Will still count seperately.

Thanks for watching and hope you enjoyed. Here is some nug porn.

Sterkte with the harvest bro. Are you wet trimming or just removing biggest fan leaves before hanging out to dry?

Hey man. Thanks. So happy harvest day is here.

Usually I try hang the whole plant as is to dry, but with this being a scrog, I will have to cut the plants into pieces. I will therefore leave all plant material on to dry as there won't be any main stems. I prefer dry trimming waaaaay more than wet trimming. I will also be doing 4 plants seperate as I used two different lights. Both 480w, one with IR and the other I built myself. I want to see what the difference in bud structure, density, trichome and weights would be under the two different lights. Just an interesting experiment.

  18. What is up folks.

So the plaas has come to harvest time. Today was the last day of flower (day 56) and the girls have been getting clean water up until now. Last watering was 2 days ago. They will have full darkness for the next 24 to 36 hours. I will then chop them down, and hang them up sometime tomorrow to start the drying process. The plan is to dry them for about 10 to 14 days depending on the weather etc. and then straight to cure.

So far the fade isn't as much as I would have liked and I will probably start my clean waterings a little earlier next time. I did get a little bit of purple popping in the last couple of days of ripening.

  19. What's up ouens.

I can sit here and say I have wanted to do everyone a favour and skip the boring part of veg but to be really honest, I just wanted to make sure I do not have any fuck ups while posting a diary. I know it is part of the game and that is why we are here...... to learn. I had a bit of a fuckup on my first scrog grow so I was abit hesitant. I managed to isolate the problems which I will briefly discuss in this diary and ironed them out with a couple of minor changes. So here goes.

    • Strain: Mango Sapphire by HSO
    • Medium: Coco/Perlite
    • Nutes: Calmag, GHE/TA TriPart and Ripen always fed at a PH of 6.0
    • Lights: 2x 480watt (DIY build and the other Kingbrite)

10 clones were taken and rooted for 2 weeks. Once they were done, they we moved into small 12cm pots, vegged out for 3 weeks and then only the best 8 would be transplanted to 20cm pots. Vegged for 3 weeks and then transplanted into 20Lt Fabric pots.

When the plants were moved into their 20LT Fabric Forever homes, the net was lowered and the tucking began. Once the net was filled to about 100%, the lights were flipped.

    Day 2 of Flower 👆

This is where my last mistake was made. Previously, when I flipped the plants into flower after filling the net, something went wrong. I have a slight suspicion the plants did not flip when I flipped and it felt like the stretch went on waaaaay too long before showing any pistils. I think the first bud sites were visible at day 20. This is very late. Even after soooo much defoliation there was still tons of growth coming up. I ended up having a shit ton of bud but everything was popcorn because there wasn't any place for the buds to fatten up. So how I solved it this time was to do a flip but make sure the plants would go into flower. The lights were switched off for about 30 hours and when they came into their first day of flower, I would keep them on an 11 hour on and 13 hour off cycle just to make sure nothing carries on vegging. This seemed to work very well. After day 2 a stretch was already visible and I could see this time it was on the money and that each site would stretch out into their own space.

The ladies ended up stretching so nicely that I had to source an extra net very quickly to help support the buds. Luckily @John Stonedwell came to the rescue and donated a second net to the ladies which they were very happy for 🙏.

The ladies are now on day 46 of flower and should be finshed by the week 8 mark which is in 10 days. They have been getting Ripen until now and soon they will have all the nutes removed with clean water to try get the plants to start fading and consuming the last bit of nutes that is left in them. They will only get clean PH 6.0 water from today until they are done.

So far I am extremely happy with the progress. No hickups at all this time. I feel like this was a good grow and that there will be some very nice product coming out. It is smelling unreal in there. Not strong at all so I am not using a carbon filter this time. I would put it on the very sweet and fruity side. Can't wait to taste them.

Thanks to all the guys on the forum that I have learnt from, spending hours observing every step they take to try immitate their grows has helped me learn and understand what is needed for a succesful grow. I look forward to sharing the last few updates into harvest and eventually a final report on the dried product.

    Thanks for watching.

  20. Hahaha. Smesh brothers. Damn I must say theres alot more hugging coming to UFC. Anyway.

That 10 pushups for john is kak funny. I see youre a man of reddit? @Ill_Evan I lurk the forums quite often. I just stay away from The South African pages. As you would believe there is some serious sensoring going on there. Whatevs.

And youre spot on about the UFC getting fighters to promote their fights for PPV etc. Craziest part about this last one, Colby did not want any PPV income. 🤷‍♂️. Dont know why. Either way. He got a serious amount of publicity this weekend after that performance. Still amazing that he declined so much money.

  21. Mad fights this weekend that passed. I must honestly say I am a Colby fan. To see what he was like and how he changed after his "Brazil you're a dump" and "all you filthy animals suck" speech, this man knows how to get a reaction. To see him turn it up to 10, knowing he did social studies in College, a person must give this man credit because he has played fans to a next level. I feel asif he sits down at night and thinks of the craziest nicknames and ways to mock any opponents or future opponents. This is calculated. The man is a genius. I do admit he comes across as a serious ass but man can he can back it up. Thats what is so exciting. He lays on the smack talk and then backs it up. Cardio is next level.

I always have a fight that I am anxious for and that was Kevin Hollands fight against cowboy. He had a fantastic 2020 and an absolute shit 2021. Buuuut the man is back in the right weight class. I do still however miss his smack talk in the cage. I lool forward to more of his fights. First round he looked like he might be in trouble, ending off with a thumbs up while cowboy has a semi choke on him. Then second round he knew he had to bang and put serious pressure. He did well.

Also the 9 april card looks seriously stacked. Cannot wait for it. I need to see sterling get his ass kicked again by yan. Would be the sweetest revenge.

I must add though that Drake bet $250 000 on masvidal winning. 🤦‍♂️ what an idiot.

    Thanks for the excellent input!.

I sure have learnt a lot on my first grow back in SA. Had absolutely no problems with Auto's when I grew a few years back in Spain. The summer months there were longer and the weather generally more stable!. Man,......it can get quite harsh down here in the Klien Karroo. I am considering growing in the ground next season with carefully mixed substrate AND photoperiods!.

Friend of mine quite literally grows 'Trees' in soil and now has nickname of Forest 😆.

    Photo shows my other efforts.

Photoperiod seeds from my friend. Only started at Christmas so I never expected much. The plants are small however I really didn't expect to get this far so anything is a bonus.

Your comment on soil is well noted and understood 👍.

    Have a groovy day .........

Awesome man. I am a big sucker for outdoor and gosh, with a scrog?! Im salivating. Very nice setup you have there.

I have zero experience with the karoo to be honest. I cant wait to see what you get from those 3 plants. Please share when you finish them. And growing in the ground is definitely a great way to grow trees, like your forest friend. I think it could be a really interesting excercise prepping your soil in the ground. I have a friend which preps every year and grows monsters from these beds that he creates. I think he uses sleeper logs about a meter or more deep and then fills it with goodness to the top. Lets it settle for a couple months and then plants. Doesnt supplement with anything and has really really good results. I look forward to seeing what you have planned.

Have a lekker one and good luck with those good looking ladies.
