  1. These are struggling a bit in the cold. And some more genetics came to the party. Crazy Hazey from Archive seeds and frozen Fuel from Square One genetics. Plus Quattro Kush F3 and Zweet Insanity is back in the tent. They are very much some of my best smoking genetics. Oh and Hitman OG clone only from Cape Coast Hybrids

Is there a possibility for a cutting in August / September of that Quattro kush F3?

I have lost two beautiful tops to bud rot. It was completely unnoticeable until I had begun the harvest tonight.
I had started at first to just take the tops off, but I soon realised the extent of the PM as I got deeper into the...well...weeds...and decided that leaving the bottoms any longer would compromise them. This is for the GZ specifically. At first it seemed as though I was going to lose the majority of the popcorn buds due to lack of development but as I started going through them, I ended up throwing maybe only two or three popcorn nugs away.
Fokit. I got a relatively clean run on the last ZxP, and my first harvest this year I had lost like all the tops. You know what they call this? They call this progress. Statistically, I'm winning. So take that, bourgeoisie. 8-)
Anyways, new game plan. I am going to chop the rest of the current ZxP on Sunday. I would do it tomorrow, but I will be participating in a 3+ hour jiu jitsu grading ceremony of death in the evening, so my body will be unable to do much the entirety of Saturday.
Earlier today I had prepped a new room in which I will be moving my entire growing setup. Flower tent, veg tent and a drying tent, all in one environmentally controlled room. Jirre I will poes off hard if I get pm and bud rot again. Some would call this, 'foreshadowing', but as I have said before I am a betting man. I'll roll that dice until I hit two sixes. Or two ones. Idk dice rules.
I'll therefore be moving the KmintZ while they are currently in flower. It is maybe a 20m journey for them so I don't think they will trip. Another reason for why the move needs to happen now is because I have the next batch of ZxP as well as the Wedding Cake clones in the veg tent just begging to get flowering, so the time is now...now is the time? It's late.
Here's a chonky Gorilla Zkittlez top.

Pappa J sells a PM solution which apparently helps with bud rot also. Have you looked into it? I have not used it, only heard from @SkunkPharm but Im going to include it in my next grow just as a preventative measure.

My fist ever grow I found lots of bud rot and had to dump a lot of buds, was a very unpleasant experience seeing as you put so much effort into the grow.

  3. Hi, does anyone have any recommendations for any TV mounting services in the Northern Suburbs? I want to have my TV mounted with a swivel mount if possible.

Reaching out to people I found on Google has yielded some dodgey results such as multiple people sending me the same photos to prove their work

I have a fairly nice rotary hammer drill with very good bits, dont mind coming to help you. Most important part is selecting the correct area and mounting it level.

  4. Greetings!
I'd like to announce the public launch of a personal project called “RSO 2.0”, an update to the 20 year old Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) extraction process. For the past two years while being sequestered at home by the pandemic, I've worked on making cleaner RSO. What has come of it, is a radical, cost effective, approach to safely creating cleaner oil at home using only kitchen utensils. For all the progress that’s been made in the extraction field in the past 20 years, RSO has been left behind. Here's whats new:
1.Introducing a one hour Room Temperature Winterization.
         2.Exploiting Isopropyl’s Super Power.
3.Distilling in Brine water to cleanse and protect the oils.
4.Lower temperature extractions to save CBDA/THCA. Important for today if
the acidic state can impede COVID from entering cells.
This is a free process to anyone wanting cleaner oil, nothing for sale.  When you have a chance, check out www.CannabisHomeSciences.com to explore a radical new approach to making RSO.
Oh, I would love to hear feedback Please critique for any typo's, ambiguities or scientific inaccuracies. Let me know your thoughts!

  5. Not the best place but the most memorable was one year on our way to KKNK. We drove the R62 route and stopped there by that tiny tunnel, next to the river and the mountains. Cant really remember what that place is called but theres some type of old fort up there so we decided to walk to the top to smoke a fatty..

Now this was still in our infant smoking years so a little went a long way. We got to the top, lit the joint and just enjoyed it. We realised, after the entire joint was done, that theres no way we would make it down again without us looking like a landslide down the mountain so we just sat there for hours talking shit and looking out at the beautiful scenery, laughing our heads off obviously.

  6. Thanks Totemic. I'm not surprised at your answer!.
Would you know roughly how much power a small setup would need?. I do get confused with how many Watts/Amps needed and how much Lithium batteries produce!. For instance, apparently the battery I'm getting has a usable capacity of 4560Wh!. So if a fan is rated at 60watts it will draw 60÷1000=  0.06wh......................I think?.
To be honest I don't seem to know how to work out the total power nessesary to run LED's, extractor fan, inlet fan etc.
Maybe someone could give me a rough idea how much power I actually need?.
    Thanking you in advance.
    Cheers.....
If you post the electricity usage of each piece of equipment and for how long they will run I could ask someone which setup would work best

  7. Hi! I have 2 auto plants that have a decent coverage amber + cloudy trichomes. I recently watered with nutrients on Saturday but now want to flush and harvest on Friday.

Are there any suggestions to stop the trichomes maturing furher while I flush and wait for Friday? Since I do not want them maturing too much further. I was thinking of flushing with FloraKleen this evening.

I have been reading a lot lately of people abroad, and locally, that says flushing is bro science and it apparently doesn't make any difference. How true this really is Im not sure.

I doubt theres a way to slow the process down but Im still a beginner when it comes to growing.

  8. Rose soil should be between pH 6.0 - 6.5, so it would work but might struggle in the beginning depending on strain as Nitrogen is more easily absorbed at about pH 5.5 - 5.8, but if he is growing outside then rain water will easily lower the pH slightly enough to be perfect for cannabis.
Edit: @Furbrain should still pH test his soil though.
    Thanks for the clarification
  9. Many thanks for all the responses. Looks like I will start over and try again!.
Rather not say which supplier because it may well be me at fault and not their seeds and so it wouldn't be fair to mention their name.
I understand fully that Auto's can be 'picky' with the whole outside growing thing. Have a friend who has given me some photoperiod seeds and so will try with them along with some more auto's from same supplier but different brand.
I didn't realize the type of soil could be an issue!. First off I used 'ordinary' off the shelf stuff (photo attached). My mistake here....I think....is I should have added a decent amount of Perlite to this soil?. I realize also that last time I grew I had access to bags of soil that were specifically designed for cannabis. Seems I have to be a little more inventive now!.     Yesterday I got a bag of 'Rose soil' from the local agri to try. From what I gather after reading these forum suggestions is that this 'rose' soil would probably be way too rich in nutrients?.
When I propergated my first 6 auto's they went straight into the big pots as I knew they don't like to be transplanted. They popped no problem then a day after we had a rain storm and the soil was drenched  even though there is drainage the soil remained wet in my pots for too long!.
I have some photoperiods germinating now. The weather has stabilized. Will use normal potting soil with perlite mixed in (+/-35%). Will start photoperiods in small containers and try auto's again straight into finishing pot.
Happy days,.....live and learn.....never give up, OR , there's always the rasta on a corner somewhere.
Will post an update on progress OR lack of.

I might be wrong but is rose mix not on the acidic side, something which cannabis would not actually like to grow in?

To be honest I do pickup a hint of hostileness   (Not only from you) , But I dont think you are a doos. I only came here to learn and not to call people things.
I much prefer to teach my self or maybe learn from the US forms/friends than having to defend my self over crap. , local is not always lekke it seems.

Nah man, nothing like that, its constructive criticism, we all went through that stage and we learn as we go along.

  11. Hi, actually posting for a friend. He's growing Sour Diesel indoor in coco and the leaves are starting to turn brown. He's been using GHE nutrients following the feeding chart.

He's flushed and started feeding again. Slowed down a bit but it's happening.

Anyone know what could be wrong?bdc2eff9e0d9b186bb5bc490a6b462a3.jpge4e14be6a6cc094179ea567f3bd5f7a7.jpg

How long has the plant been in flower?
  12. Cheers man.
Do I actually need to get a cartridge for this or do you put the oil in the chamber between the mouthpiece and battery?

The person it belongs to does not remember adding other parts to the pen.

Some of them are one time use and discarded afterwards, then theres also some where you just put a new cart in. I think its the thread on the cart and the vape which is some industry standard which makes a difference.

    Hey,
Thought I'd share what I built.
Over time I developed an IOT platform which allow people to register and integrate their micro controllers over HTTP/MQTT
Turns out it works great for my grow tent.
Using this platform I created this custom light controller which can control up to 4 10A lamps over MQTT. At the back there is a toggle switch which will toggle between online and off line mode. In offline mode the knob in front controls the 4 channels, all the way to the left is off and the more you dial it to the right the more LEDs comes on 50watt at a time. Enclosure was 3d printed.
When in online mode it connects via MQTT to  you can create sensors and switches , I also added integration with Alexa in the form of a virtual button which can be triggered via a URL, Which in turn triggers an alexa routine.  So if you have a sensor and any of the parameters goes out of range it can trigger alexa to say something like "Warning temperature sensor out of range!"

    1.png

And a little sensor box that measure lux, temp and humidity.
    humidi.png

And to top it off a dynamic image that will show live readings in my tent. So when ever you refresh this page it will show live readings updated to 1min ago.

Bit over the top and maybe a little bit gimmicky but hey!

Awesome work man wow, keep it up.

Dont know whats up with the format but good work man, very interesting

  14. Small update, looks like we vegging abit longer for the strawberry sugar cookies (on top) and the ginger tea ( below) the apple Jax got the chop. Not keen on dealing with hermies and it’s most likely the case
the dqslurri are doing well, abit slower than usual but I think the hours aren’t doing them any good. So they will be inside with the Jack herer and bubalicious. Going on 12hours today

I have the same Apple Jax cut which is growing beautifully. How would I know that its going to hermie apart from leaving it until it happens?

  15. What's goooood my good people :-rasta
Here we have some training talk, this is nothing new, just a video I came across that helped me and might be helpful to some of you, some of you may already be familiar with it.
What is this Kushman Chiropractic nonsens? Well, basically it's super cropping, but with less risk of loosing branches and/or damaging the plant and much quicker response times and virtually no recovery time.
I've noticed on the forum the hot shit when comes to super cropping is the method of rolling a branch between your fingers slightly pressing down on it untill it subtly lays sideways, but still kinda standing on its own. This has caused me to snap a few branches in the past, having to run over to my medic kit and strap and wire shit back up to save the branch if it doesnt snap and I did it 100% correctly the plant will still take about 12 to sometimes 24hrs to prop all the tops back up facing the light before it can continue with normal growth.
Well, here we go, no more of that for me!!!
We all know why we supercrop, so I won't go into that, but here is a video on how I found out about Kushmans Chiropractics that goes into quite a bit of detail on why we do it and all that, he also demonstrates his way and I found it to work MUCH better. snapped all my plants in about 30min last night without loosing a single branch.
if you just wana check the chiropractics part skip to the 18:50 mark. he does something very very interesting

Thanks for the share. Now to decide which plants I will try this on this year.

  16. Just want to say I ordered some Banana Haze. Order was completed in record time with updates as things progressed.

I was so surprised when I opened the package to discover 3 free Banana cheese seeds.

Truly made my week. Awesome, friendly and quick service.

    Will definitely support again

  17. Thanks man. That info is really appreciated. I will pop in there over the weekend because yesterday was shopping and today is work.
But thanx again for the help
If Im not mistaken I think I saw some at Interlude Hydro also. Perhaps give them a call and find out if they have.

If you haven't been there, take just enough money for the item you need otherwise you will want to buy everything there, and they are very very reasonably priced.
