The dude i bought it from is quite the legend! (not sure if mentioning his name is against the forum rules)

  3. Great post Venom.

I'm a first timer too, currently in the flowering process of a White Widow.

I've also made some of these same mistakes, but yeah, that's how we learn. Everybody was a newbie at some stage.

    Safe,

    Wallis

  4. Aaah, thanks guys. I was never expecting A grade from my first ever grow anyways. My main goal was to at least make it to harvest...even if it only produced 1 bud.

@reaf those pics are of the areas which I thought were affected. I guess when I saw the leaves darkening I panicked and assumed the worst.

Thanks for the advice 420 I'll make a new mix of nutes tonight.

@tk yeah I know now where I went wrong with the feeding when I switched over. Thanks for your input homie. Will keep y'all posted.

@coco don't apologise to me. Apologise to any other newbie who comes on here to learn who may have seen your post.

  5. Sup everybody.

It's taken me a long time to build up the courage for this post.

Mainly because I'm about to show you guys what my plant looks like..and compared to what I've seen posted on here my plant looks like Sloth from The Goonies.

Mine is a White Widow. Grown in coco/perlite and man...she's experienced almost every kind of problem there is. From overwatering/underfeeding to calmag/N deficiency, spidermites alles!

I didn't have much faith in harvesting anything from this plant and was prepared to just start fresh, but I stuck it out with her so that I could continue my learning process. She's now in her 5th week of flowering and that she's made it this far itself is a miracle.

Anyways, I've only just figured out I've also not been feeding her properly in her flowering phase. Before her last feeding a few days ago I was still giving 5ml each Micro, Grow and Bloom mixed in 10litres of RO water (450ppm). I've since rectified this and mixed 8ml Micro, 10ml Grow and 20ml Bloom (860ppm)

And I haven't even come to the worst part yet...

You see, winter in my crib is fucking brutal! My room, where my cabinet is also situated, is cold as balls man!

So now the temp in the cab when the lights are off drops to as low as 15 degrees celsius. It gets a max of like 25 when the lights are on, which is ok.

This has surely affected the plant as you will see on the pics.

The leaves around the buds are turning a dark colour. This only started a few days ago but is elevating quickly.

I did some research and iv found out that this could be a sign of Bud rot. Which is like GAME OVER if i understand correctly.

Anyways, have a look. Tell me what you think. And advise me as best as you can.

    Thanks for listening.

  6. Shot guys. I went out n got neem oil at Horti.

Awe Aj I figured out that I was giving way too little and iv since started giving them 1 litre each. Probably gonna give even more at next feeding.

Right. Time to commit mass murder on dem spidermites.

    Thanks again guys

    Peace

  7. Hey guys.

Just a bit of an update.

So I gave my plant a good flush, mixed 2ml of Nutriplex Trio in 10 litres of RO water added CalMag to the mix. It seems to be doing fine now and looks to be growing again. Some of the larger leaves had to be removed though due to previous problems so the plant looks a bit handicapped lol

    <a href=DSC_0170_zpssgqd8vpo.jpg" />

But now Im having other problems. Please see next pic

I noticed some white specks appearing on the leaves a few days ago. Can anybody perhaps tell me what this is?

Is it some kind of plant pests? What can I do to get rid of it?

    <a href=DSC_0165_zpsujoguk4v.jpg" />

Also, I see the white pistils appearing now. Does this mean that it's time to switch the light schedule for flowering? Or can I still let it grow a bit more?

    <a href=DSC_0164_zpsnh0yehf9.jpg" />

Looking forward to hearing from y'all

    Peace

  8. Hi guys

    Just a quick question...

How much water do I have to use to flush the soil in my 16 litre pots?

Is 5 litres of water per plant enough?

I think i read somewhere that you must use 3 times the volume of your pots.

    Is that the case?

    Shot

  9. I didn't even do an EC reading. lol

I couldn't get the EC pen into the 1l bottle.

OMW, Im such a noob! haha

Once again, thanks for all the feedback ouens.

This cannabis growing is a bit more complicated than I thought, but..

I will not quit. I WILL harvest my own buds by the end of the year :-rastapuff

    Peace!

  10. Hey guys

    Thanks for responding.

    Totemic -

Because Iv put them straight into big 16 litre pots, giving them 100 - 200 ml of water does not cause any run off. If I am supposed to be watering until the water runs out the bottom then I have screwed up BIG TIME! LOL

I am using the pH testing kit from Hortishop to measure pH (could not afford digital pen)

    GLO-

    16 litre pots

    420 -

Yeah, I did charge with CalMag that I also bought at Hortishop. I don't add any to the feeding tho.

I also do have an EC pen

    Gareth -

Yes. I mixed them all into 1 litre of water.

And I kinda had a feeling that this wasn't right..but I went ahead anyway! So I completely messed up there LOL

    HEMPY BUCKET? What's that?

By the looks of things, it seems that I have made an absolute mess of my 1st attempt to grow my own weed hahaha!

It's all good though, I expected to fail as this is all so new to me.

    So...to possibly save these plants:

First - more drainage holes, then flush. Yes?

Then, get a bigger container to mix the nutes. Ok

    Supplement with CalMag. Check

    Any other tips?

Or would starting fresh be a better option?

    You guys have been great!

  11. Sup guys

    I need some help, please.

I am growing for the very first time. I bought some White Widow seeds from Green Smoke Room back in February.

I planted 2 of them around the beginning of March.

coco/perlite in 16 litre pots and growing under 250W HPS (however, they had to be left outside for the 1st 2 weeks while I sorted out the heat issue in my cab)

The 2 week old seedlings were put in the cab on 18 March with 18/6 light-dark schedule.

Temp in cab ranges from 21 degrees when lights are off to about 28 with lights on (30 degrees on the warmer nights)

Humidity ranges from 30% to 60%

I started feeding them with 0.5ml of Nutriplex in 1 litre of water with pH reading of 6. I gave them 100ml every 3 days

I gradually increased the nute strength on a weekly basis.

The most recent feeding was 2.5ml of Nutriplex Micro/Gro/Bloom in 1 litre RO water. 200ml for each plant

    Anyways,

They were doing quite fine until about a week ago.

Now, as my pictures will show, the leaves are drooping, curling and turning yellow. Based on my research this is caused by either over or underwatering.

Please have a look at the pics below and tell me what I could possibly be doing wrong and if there is anything I can do to get my plants healthy.

Also, they seem very small to me for plants that are already 2 months old. Kak genetics, or growing error?

Looking forward to some constructive criticism,

    Thanks

  12. Sup bro

Im a Ferrari fan...since the Schumacher days.

As for drivers..I like Alonso and Hamilton. Iv never been a fan of Vettel but it looks like he will do Ferrari proud this season!

    Rossi for Moto GP

What a race this past weekend, eh?

  13. Hi guys.

Just a quick question regarding loadshedding interrupting light cycles...

My plants start their 18hr lights on period at 8pm and off at 2pm. (vegging)

If loadshedding hits my area from 8pm till 10pm, will those extra 2 hours of dark have a big effect on my plants?

Also, would this mean that I have to set my light timer to go off 2 hours later at 4pm instead of 2pm?

I decided on 8pm till 2pm to work around loadshedding in my area but it seems today Eskom still found a way to fuck me!

If somebody can give me advice on the matter it'll be very much appreciated.

    Thanks

    W
