Im really looking forward to learning from all the experienced growers on here. My interest in gardening was sparked by my late grandmother whom i always helped in the garden. Ive been growing vegetables and ornamentals outdoors on my own for the past 2 years, but this Im new to growing my own medicine. Made tons of mistakes from burning seeds to overwatering. I harvested two autoflowes being an amnesia haze an OG kush, one of which finished off the size of my middle finger We live and learn right Currently running the following photoperiods in an indoor grow setup with very basic equipment as im on a budget: -Dirty Kush breath , Frosted apricots(in house genetics) -gorilla glue -gelato -Golden Cheese (Farmacy seeds) Dont think my lights are poweful enough. Im using a chinese led with two panels from my herb stand for supplemental light. Had a super long veg, and ended up with small plants. Here are some pics of my girls (dont laugh). Im honestiy just hoping to get to the finish line of my first grow. Hopefully i dont make the same mistakes on my next run. I only recently(final weeks of flower) used a lux meter and found that im so far below the light levels required and i feel like kicking myself. Id appreciate recommendations for a budget friendly light for my grow? Thanks for the welcome. Its great to be part of a growing community like this. Thanks for the excellent input!. I sure have learnt a lot on my first grow back in SA. Had absolutely no problems with Auto's when I grew a few years back in Spain. The summer months there were longer and the weather generally more stable!. Man,......it can get quite harsh down here in the Klien Karroo. I am considering growing in the ground next season with carefully mixed substrate AND photoperiods!. Friend of mine quite literally grows 'Trees' in soil and now has nickname of Forest . Photo shows my other efforts. Photoperiod seeds from my friend. Only started at Christmas so I never expected much. The plants are small however I really didn't expect to get this far so anything is a bonus. Your comment on soil is well noted and understood . Have a groovy day .........

I am very interested to see how your grow turns out, now and following. I have often pondered moving off into the Karoo, even Klein Karoo. My following thoughts were naturally whether the conditions would work well for cannabis. It would be super dope if you could post your temps and humidity every so often please My outdoor knowledge is limited but this thread is tickling my fancy

Awesome man. I am a big sucker for outdoor and gosh, with a scrog?! Im salivating. Very nice setup you have there. I have zero experience with the karoo to be honest. I cant wait to see what you get from those 3 plants. Please share when you finish them. And growing in the ground is definitely a great way to grow trees, like your forest friend. I think it could be a really interesting excercise prepping your soil in the ground. I have a friend which preps every year and grows monsters from these beds that he creates. I think he uses sleeper logs about a meter or more deep and then fills it with goodness to the top. Lets it settle for a couple months and then plants. Doesnt supplement with anything and has really really good results. I look forward to seeing what you have planned. Have a lekker one and good luck with those good looking ladies.

Looks great in there ! The only thing is as you know when budget permits it is to invest in stronger lights, yes they can be pricey but they will pay you back in the long run with bigger and fatter buds for a few years. Welcome to the Fam!

Hi all Thought I would start off courteously and introduce myself. Been growing outdoors for a number of years, and at risk of sounding vain, I feel I have pretty much reached my full potential given the natural constraints inherent to an outdoor grow. My outdoor grows are organic, with either Freedom Farms or Orgasoilux along with mostly the Biobizz nutrient range. I like to use the odd dose of Nitrosol, molasses and Epsom salt too. Used the Freedom Farms Antifragile soil as test this year and thus far I am quite impressed (only used it as a third of the medium in each pot). Having to wait from May to November each year for summer to come around has forced my hand in setting up an indoor grow. Currently on my first run, plants at 3 weeks and so far so good. Indoor I am going for coco and salt based nutrients, and will have to pick some brains here to assist with the unknown. Anyway, that's enough about me for now. Looking forward to this journey of mastering the indoor side of things. Hopefully I can give back or at least pay forward the knowledge obtained here. Apologies for the "low" resolution pictures. Agree. Autos are suppose to be the fad. Unless you have experience with them and dialed them in, i wouldn't bother. Spend a bit of extra grow time and you will be rewarded with a much bigger yield. My biased opinion.

I believe it is in the material that they use. The way that I understand it, most plastic is actually breathable, albeit at a very low rate in most cases. For example, if you leave a full 2L Coke bottle lying around for a year or two it will eventually be flat, that's because the CO2 actually escapes through the plastic slowly over time, but the gaps in the plastic are not enough for any liquid to pass through so you will always have a full bottle. They do the same with these bags. The gaps in the plastic is just enough to allow a certain amount of moisture in, and also small enough to keep a certain level of moisture trapped. But I am willing to be wrong, that's just how I reasoned it.

Gave these bags a go last harvest. 3 weeks into the cure and I’m convinced. Not always around or possible to burp jars, not even with bovedas was it this easy. Bud in after +- 10 day dry, back of the cupboard for 3 weeks, voila. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

https://grovebags.com/ I used their wicket bags last year and they maintain the perfect environment for long term storage. No discolouration of buds like in a glass jar with Bovedas. I still have some bud in the bag and they are as fresh as when i bagged them. Ordered terploc bags for this harvest. Manufacturing quality and price is excellent. I'm converted @Aeradix
