  1. Morning folks. So I finished up with my second indoor grow and was quite happy with the results. So now it's time for my 3rd grow running some local genetics along with some international and established strains.. it's @Totemic time I learnt a lot from my last grow and have switched up a couple of things.. Soil - moved from Royal Gorilla to Freedom Farms classic (Very happy with this decision.. FF is a super stable soil with a very nice inherent nutrient balance) Seedlings - germinated in peat pellets as normal but for the seedling stage had them in 10cm pots for rooting with a subsequent transplant to the 20l fabric pots Nutes - I still have Seagro but decided for this grow I will only be running the BioBizz line (with some calmag throughout and molasses for flower) Lighting - for the seedling stage I only had my HLG 100 on and only flipped on the additional 300w grow bar rig 4 weeks into the veg stage. Genetics - so as stated I wanted to give some local heroes a go and half of the tent will be local. Seeds originally planned for the run: Totemic - Palomino (germinated within 3 days and growth is ridiculous - will most propably be the star of the tent) Totemic - Tortoni #1 (I initially thought this seed didn't germinate as it took quite a while for tap to show - 6 to 7 days) Totemic - Tortoni #2 (because I thought I lost the 1st Tortoni ) Inhouse Genetics - Twisted Helix Garden of Green - Girl Scout Cookies TH Seeds - Bubblegum G13 Labs - Raw Diesel (dud seed did not germinate... ) Ripper - Brain Cake (whack mutant plant. Not sure if it's the seed or initial rooting problems but it will be chucked..) Initial growth points towards 3 stand out ladies - Palomino, GSC and Twisted Helix.. the other 3 are stacking very tightly and will probably be bushy little ladies.. Germination was done on the 2nd of March and first topping and training for mainline will commence shortly. I still haven't introduced nutes yet as the leaf colour still looks spot on.. damn good soil that is!! Germination Seedlings Veg growth pre transplant Mutant lady Post transplant GSC Twisted Helix Palomino Tortoni #1 Bubblegum Tortoni #2

  3. Hey what's up guys, Stumbled across the forum this morning and it looks a really rad community. Stoked to have joined and hope to become a part of it. Big fan of growing and consuming the herb and spend most of my free time doing exactly that. Lekker

  4. Thanks for the warm welcome bud. I'm growing indoor at the moment but keen to get some outdoor going next season. Running a small perpetual setup using coco/perlite. Just finished up a harvest of Runtz Muffin and Blue Cheese, Runtz Muffin came out really nice. I'll add some pics. Currently day 11 of my next flower run which is Slurricane 9, Queen Anne's Revenge and Forbidos. Want to do a few runs with these to try get the best out of them. Got in clones of PuTang and Platinum Gorilla the other day to add to the run after this.

  5. Aweh gromies, The crux of the outdoor season is upon us. Plenty of chopping and trimming allready going on. 1-3. Pineapple express lady getting nice and heavy. 4-6. WWxCheese also getting very lekker. 7-8. Sativa leaning pheno Fruitpunch lady bringing the goods, nice dense pungent nugs. 9-10. Verrryy Fruity bagseed clone cut from a revegged mother from last year. Strong haze genes. 11-12. One of the Bubblegum girls getting into the fade. Not a heavy yielder, but lots of flavour. 13. The Blue Cheese clones in our guerilla outdoor setup under the lights.

  6. In the process ordering a system. 12 x 410 watt pv panels (25 years warranty) 1 x hybrid inverter (15 years warranty) 1x 10kw 48v lithium ion bank (10 years warranty) 1x cable set 100m plus plugs and DC breaker 1x set roof mounts for 12 pv panels 5k$, shipping 180$... about R75k plus customs. I give noise once here and installed. Is a lot cheaper on direct order from China. Should be paid back in 5 years.. so would have 5 years warranty extra on the battery bank... just that little advantage made me order. So soon no more atomic weed... grown by the sun green weed

  7. So i found 3 females in my pack I did kill 5 seeds from the pack being brave and stupid while drunk trying a new method of germination. I will be growing these out in 2 x 1.2m tents as I made cuttings from the mothers. Is it cool if I post pics here of the grows? One tent will have 4 clones of Headbanger #2 the other tent will have 2 clones of Headbanger #5 and Headbanger #7 each.

  8. Welcome bud. Hope you enjoy the forum. That set up looks insane and really dialed in and that bud looks ridiculous. Running some nice strains as well. I am very keen to follow along

  10. Have some other options, but its not for everybody. 1.Tomato leaf alkaloids. If you have access to tomato leaves. Roughly chopped, add enough water to cover the leaves and then blitz with food processor, leave overnight to draw, filter solids and spray. Additional-veg oil and soft soap(wetting agent) optional. Active compound should deteriorate in 2-4days if exposed to sunlight and UV. Worked on spidermites, aphids and thrips. (Soft bodied insects) 2.Garlic chilli onion-diy pepperspray 4 cloves garlic, handfull of hot peppers(habanero) and half an onion. Rough chop, cover with 2lt water, blitz with processor, steep overnight, filter and spray. (5ml oil and soap optional) Stand upwind when you spray, or you will be sorry.... Works on spidermites and aphids, busy checking efficacy on whitefly. Smell should dissipitate after 2 days. These are organic remedies found on the interweb that have been used with success.

  11. Yes, FF green bag and BioBizz... I have some Plagron shipping ^^ and want to test that.. just for fun. No supplier local.. I wouldn't wanna depend on Post Office. That is rather simple.. as I like to feed rather more then less. I watch the tips of the leaves. They tell me when to go water but at the end is learning a strain.. not learning to grow. You can do a dialed in grow on your first run of a new strain you test.. but that is rather unlikely. In general you need a few to get all the "special" parts of the strain. But my general routine is daily. I lift each pot to know who needs water. If I have the same strains in a tray, I usually just lift the most thirsty and not so thirsty. That tells me to mix a bucket or no. Tray feeding makes the feeding simple.. not helping to really get a perfect result. If you aim for the best, you have to give each plant a few seconds of your time a day. The Gelato I played with now, has its own tricky part.. can't over feed them or they revolt. So cut down 25% nutes on those an had a very smooth sail. never gave 4ml of anything.. beside the flowering stimulators As I feed each time i water, I expect more to run into over feeding issues, then under feeding. So the first change is always pure water. That deals with the over feeding symptoms for your feeding solution. Next 2 you can run into is Mg and Ca deficiency... you find pictures on the web.. Ca can also relate to white dots forming on the leaves.. not as easy to find, so I add it. Internet pictures should be your first go to. Or make some close ups and post here.. if in doubt. Not often you run into Fe issues.. fresh soil, you never ever should. Mg comes up most, if not one of your NPK culprits. Ca behind.. Fe.. you really have to use strange stuff Once you grew a strain for a few times, you will actually learn yourself what to do and what they dislike. Is the reason I run grow sheets.. to know where to look, if I run into troubles. Once I am happy with my result.. I also don't run a grow sheet anymore on that strain and just use the information i learned before.. I am just a amateur at the end and have fun with what I am doing. When you start racing a car.. you don't hop in and after 2 laps you challenge a F1 Pro. You do laps and improve, the more you do on the same track, the better you become. The more tracks you drive, the better you get on those tracks. And dude.. you will crash some cars, if you want to become a professional racing driver Experience helps... after a few hundred plants.. thank god, some mistakes I learned to avoid My first go to is always the internet picture section.. you know how your issue looks like.. search and trust your eyes. On the way you learn a lot more as just how to solve your issue. You read and judge if it just makes sense.. common sense is all you need growing weed. Indoor you can mess up a lot more as outdoor.. strange but true Crap light.. crap results. Crap ventilation.. crap results. Crap climate.. crap results. Indoor you have to check a lot more factors then outdoor... so you just add those to the indoor checklist for the strain

  12. What is up good people, here is a little something I have been busy with the last few months that I think some of you might like... a Mushroom Farm, well getting there hahah This is as primitive as things get, I plan to make a few bucks out the place to cover the expenses and invest to get something proper going. Building the same setup with Isoboards is what I am going for, already got quotes to get some frames welded for hanging and making use of vertical space as I have plenty. Just waiting for a cash flow. I teamed up with a guy who's doing the marketing, I am doing all of the growing. Any questions welcome. Incubation "room". Dimentions: W2mxL3mxH3m. Wood frame to hold thick black plastic to create complete dark room. 1/3rd of the wall on the left is covered with 90% black shade net folded double so the the room can breathe, but let minimal light in. inside incubation, with few colonising Hard to get a good pic, but here is the grow room. W3mxL5mxH3m. wood frame to hold a UV protected opaque plastic. door open. RH on 98% The Reservoir. I got a 70L thick black tote bin with a constant water level, pumping ultrasonic fog into my grow room. you can see the whaft it pumps out Inside the Res, I got a M6 fogger, they sent me the wrong floater and I had to improvise with a pool noodle, works 100%. I got a water line pumping water into the res (visible in photo above) with a floater valve to shut it off and keep it from running over. got a 20cm inline fan system running, if I put the fogger off it sucks the 98%RH down to 40% in 10min. got a piece of the black shade net over the mouth of the fan to keep spores from building up inside the fan, gets cleaned weekly. most importan, Sonoff TH16 booooiiiii once I get the grow room going, I have to leave the fan off. put the fogger on, let it build to about 95%Rh, then I switch the fan on and leave it on. I got the fogger running on the Sonoff, when the RH drops below 90% it kicks the fogger on, once it reaches 98% it switches back off. Room never really gets wet, except for minimal droplets that form on the floor over a period of day, walls are never wet, but air stays very moist. very important. Now, some shroomies

  16. The GG#4 is already sold out. Someone bought it all a few minutes after putting it live. Wow! Did not expect that. I hope at some point they release more packs, as that was the last 3 packs available anywhere.

  17. Thanx bro. Much appreciated. Next run will also feature another local breeder, Motherland Genetics. I really get all giddy and excited for local breeders working on some nice gear.

  20. Morning good sir. All of those ladies were feminised seeds. I still have your GTH × OKC regulars for a run in the future. Need to stock up on enough flower first

  22. what's good @Pandy Indeed, I do. During colonisation the mycelium will expel much less Carbon dioxide than needed to form good reproductive organs, however there will still be a build up inside the bag. Fungi breathe in Oxygen and breathe out Carbon dioxide, so fresh air is needed, just much less than when time comes to fruit. What I do, after packing bags, wipe down with alcohol, get a sterile medical needle, poke holes roughly 2.5 to 3cm apart from eachother all over the bag.

  23. Definitely a different ballgame to weed. I've watched tons of vids on tobacco & a lot say it can be smoked as soon as it's colour cured, but that's several weeks from harvest. Growing it also takes forever. Smh. The seedlings I got from you had a long way to go before I could harvest some leaves. But one advantage is, I now have seeds for literally years to come. Just from 1 or 2 plants that I let go to seed. With my next tobacco run, there's a few things I'll do differently. Planting in the ground is a must for bigger plants & leaves & I'll also start much sooner. Maybe june/july on a windowsill & move outside when bigger. The haze looks good [emoji106] Mine is a bit behind yours, but I have other strains that's fast approaching harvest time, so theres no rush. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk

  25. Its a solid concept, with a 'herbal' infused execution Having played paintball, I think besides all these other very valid points, the one that stands out the most is that, as Crex says, to begin with you don't have enough gas I would imagine. But feck I love a good out of the box idea like this As for alternatives, doing nothing, again as Crex said, is solid. Else, what about the soap and water spray trick? I know that works for a lot of pests. Something worth trying. Pyrol is out at this point, as is Neem IMO. I bought another product the other day, same company, called Vegol. Slogan is something like spray today, eat tomorrow. So I used it on my plants (infested with thrips) from like week 7-8. They turned out alright. And even though they say 'eat tomorrow', I still just did a plain water wash when I harvested.

So maybe I miss read the description or I am not seeing this right. Forgive me if I am being a twat I am keen for the comp. Will need to check my pics. Always have my stoner kitty helping me when I water and stuff

  28. I thought long into it... only real making sense option is the hybrid system. The house would easy run on a 5kv system.. the granny flat, my grow area, draws a lot more then that... for resell option, cant go to big. My plan... as i am not rockefeller or related to JP Morgan i get a 5kv hybrid system, snipp the connection to the granny flat off and hook it there in between. Now my grow gear runs over the hybrid. 50k down... won nothing hehehe that step sucks. Then i add solar panels and a small set of batteries. When i have over production, more batteries. But will not go for 24/7 365.. mainly during day have all run for free, with a bit eskom load shedding reserves i start with a small setup, 600 watt solar panel capacity and see what numbers i get.. beside the 300ah 12v battery capacity runs my eskom backup. I hope i can take the charger off, after i hook up the solar panels. That works all as expected, i get the hybrid inverter when the wallet permits showing me a birdy at the moment.
