  2. Aweh gromies, All told the Purple Pineapple lady racked up a decent 155gr dry before jarring. Lots of prominent dark pistils, reminds me of some Rooibaard from many moons ago. Getting klapped by some heatwave weather, 35-39deg, 80% RH. Very glad I harvested when I did, about 20% amber had to move all the plants out to a shadier spot to avoid the worst. Most of the lawn is toast by comparison so the sweat paid off. That Lady, Mother nature is a tough cookie

  3. So The little seeds were harvested and I germinated them in some Jiffies. As @Totemic said.. germination rate is high.. If guys based in CPT want some... let me know.. Will have way more than what I need. I'll be germinating some more companion plants to.. so let me know if you'd like some..

  4. Can't be foxtailing on that setup.. starved, hungry.. you still on the 50% dosage? I would go max wattage on the board and stay at 50cm distance.. but pump it up! And same with nutes.. check the recommended dosage for flower and give em that!

  6. Because it's this far into flower, I wonder whether increasing nutes and light strength would cause more stress than not. If the plant thinks it's near the end I'm not sure how much it would recover. I'd still go with @Prom's recommendation though.

  7. If you are dead set on a specific sized tent, get a smaller quantum board with a single QB288. These are normally advertised as 120w lights and later on you can purchase some more quantum boards. A 240w quantum board is generally 2x QB288's Check out the vendors and see what specials are currently available. Not all quantum boards are the same in terms of heatsink and the accessories which come with them. Something you'd want to look into, the vendors on this forum are a good place to start looking. You've already been given some great advice from fellow members. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

  9. Taking the ballistics of guns, especially hand guns, is a good thing to do. This gets done all over Europe.. also Switzerland, takes 6 months to get your hand gun license, they check you up ^^ . The difference is a bit how people look at it. We can only shoot max 66 meters on a friends property. Were looking for a 100 meter target practice.. shooting a air rifle with a professional muffler.. completely silent, birds not even get disturbed a few meters away. Had a drive, found a spot, shot to calibrate till a car pulled up with some youngsters, calling us all names and so on. We packed and moved. Checked with a friend in Tulbagh, wine farm.. sure, we do distance shooting too, just hop in. That is the good part in SA.. you always find what you need hehehe. We do the air rifle on 200 meters now, 100 wasn't a real challenge. 200, little wind.. great fun. In Switzerland, we went shooting in the forest, cases of ammunition, not silent hehehe every single hiker coming by had a look, talk and asked if he can shoot a few rounds.. and walked on. Never ever had contact with the Police in regards of shooting noise, hand guns to full automatic assault rifles. The major difference is that all male Swiss need to do military service.. or you have a medical document telling you are not fit to do that. So all are trained to use a weapon the right way, you even get your military weapon home.. with a full clip. Nobody messes with the Swiss.. as in each home there is a loaded assault rifle Lived there for 26 years.. I love em I will hand in my permanent residency this year... could already have done it a few years ago.. but the final point was the weed law i can grow my stuff legal.. yeah.. I get me the SA ID Have to do my Visa anyhow now.. so why not last time.

  11. I desided it was time to really test the efectivity of these companion plants with regards to pests.. Chamomile, Sage, Basil and Marigold. I know when planted in the same pot, Marigold can be very beneficial.. Got some seeds and put them in Jiffies.. A few days later and I have a few showing face... Sooo dam tiny...

  12. I must agree, growing isn't difficult when you use the right products and have the right equipment. Lots of members on this forum will be more than happy to help you and guide you through your grows. Decide which route you'd like to go for your next grow (soil, coco or something else), let us know and you'll get assistance for sure! Nothing wrong with soil or coco. I personally prefer coco but had good success when I used soil as well. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

  13. Just Cannabis can be super sketchy, it's a hit/miss I find. It tends to be "too hot" for most plants, hence the claims that all you do is add water. Also, I feel that with soil/coco, adding only pH 6.5 water might not be the move. I like to add water that is more on the acidic side, as in about pH 5.8. Soil/coco can raise the pH much easier than it can drop it on it's own, I believe it is the calcium within the substrate which allows for this. Your plants may just be unable to have absorbed as much nitrogen as it needed due to the pH imbalance. I'd be willing to bet that if you changed your medium to say either Organics Matters Living Soil, Freedom Farms Classic or any good packaged coco like Atami High Porosity or Gold Label Coco and used the appropriate nutrients (BioBizz for organic soil / GHE for coco) you'll be surprised how much easier it is. Grows like this can throw people off and honestly I'd blame whoever sold you the soil that didn't give you the right advise.

  14. I feel it is a common misconception that soil is easier than coco... Those plants look pretty hungry to me. Being autos, not much you can do now unfortunately. Autos need the perfect environment in order for them to thrive, otherwise your yield will be reduced. They do not leave much room for error. There are better soils out there - Freedom Farms (premium classic, green bag) is very popular and Organics Matter is good as well. Both of these soils have had some issues in the past with some batches. Soil will never be 100% consistent unfortunately. If you want to continue giving soil a try, I would recommend one of those two. Currently, continue feeding your plants with nutes and perhaps drop the PH a little as well, to around 6.2 as I believe Just Cannabis is not so much a soil as it is coco with amendments... not sure if there is even anything to help buffer the PH. How dry is your medium? Do not let it dry out too much. Looks as if the plants may have gotten quite dry as well. Also what is the purpose of the leca ontop of the medium?

  15. It's not so much how many plants for the light, it's more the sqm area which the light will cover well. You can fit 1 large plant inside a tent of whatever sqm or you could fit multiple smaller plants... However the 240w light will work in your sized tent alright but more than 1 would be preferable for flowering in your 1.2 x 1.2 tent. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

  16. remove all the yellow leaves, plant already gave up on those. The left bud pic looks like foxtailing. What is your light setup right now?

  17. Still a bit sad even after this morning's water. I am just hoping this is a combo of light stress and it approaching harvest. I think there's a bit of fox tailing. I've raised the light to 50CM above it now. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk

  20. I am going to start growing tonnes of chillies in the new year. Pretty, tasty, grow easy and can be used for many things. Actually cant wait to grow chillies, lots of chillies, potent, colourful and delicious. Also look at the weeds in your garden, kakibos is a good plant to keep aphids/fleas away.

  21. Sorry about your loss of many things, most importantly your privacy. Crime and corruption will be the death of South Africa. I dont think the ANC should be given the power of the death penalty. Safest street in my area is the the local drug dealers den, he rents from a local cop. We dont call cops anymore. I have had to use some brain power to work out our security issues, and touch wood we are safe for now. The most important thing I have done is to be more vigilant. We have kilometres of fencing to monitor and I have got so intune with it, I can tell the different styles of fence cuts. We have two problems, poachers and house breakers. My first line of defense is the fences, as soon as they are tampered with I know to pick up patrols, especially over school holidays, month end, full moon and windy/rainy days. These are most of the times they tend to raid. I have confronted them a number of times, caught them twice, been to their houses, spoken with thier bosses. . The last time I called the police they charged me with assault and kidnapping of a thief !!!!! Point of my waffle above is you have to be responsible for your own security, you cant rely on alarm systems or even security companies. We have setup many processes to initially protect ourselves now, early warning systems and not to proud, but we barely lock our doors at night. As a foreigner, you should still be able to get a license. There is a good gunshop just off Louis Botha that does it all for you. I do believe they are taking much longer to process applications, was quoted 6k for a handgun with certificate and have to wait about 6 months for a license. Gun owners are also complaining that they have to send their guns in for balistics for renewals now. Ironic that Switzerland is the most armed nation in the world with the least amount of crime.

  23. yeah its all up to your budget at the end of the day. Don't know what's your budget. Growing cannabis is trial and error when starting indoors. I would do a smaller tent and put more aside for a light. I think the most important thing in growing is a light. the better the light the more the yield and coverage. When you go hps you gonna have heat issues on hot days and you probably gonna need a 6inc inline fan. You can do autos but there is no room for error on them really. If you mess up then your yield wont be as good as if it could of been. But at the end you can use what ever you pleased with. hps, blurpels,qb's they all work.

  24. whats up and welcome @AquaS! good to se you putting in some effort! there are a few vendors on the forum under the vendors list, take a look at them all and you will find a great deal. https://www.420sa.co.za/forum/7-sponsors-vendors/ the apollo will grow some great weed! but it really is not a light you should be investigating. LED diodes have made leaps and bounds in the right direction and a true full spectrum diode is much more efficient than the Blurple tech of old check out the Quantam boards that are all the rage currently from the vendors. lets talk about your tent. 1.2x1.2 is a nice size man! you could definately put more than 4 plants in there so you have future proofed yourself a bit hehe. but in doing so, you have asked the wrong question about the light needs! that tent will need about 400w of LED lighting to get great coverage corner to corner. but you will only need about 200w for 4 plants so keep that in mind. so the apollo 4 is a bit on the weak side for that many plants also, that red sand, be careful with it as it tends to compact quite a bit in pots and cannabis does not like compact soils... if you can, get some perlite and coco and mix it into the red sand... or buy a premium craft soil from your nursery. the nute line you have chosen may also not be suitable for the red sand.... start with plain water feeding to see if there are any deficiencies and then start with the nutes at half strength

  29. @Prom hi bud. Sure there are legal ways to carry a sidearm in South Africa. You can have a look at a Section 13 licence which is for self defence and valid for 5 years. (Only shotgun and handgun allowed under Sec 13) Otherwise you can get a sec 15 which is an occasional sport shooting/hunting licence or a sec 16 which is a dedicated sport shooting/hunting licence. These licences are valid for 10 years and also includes semi automatic rifles over and above handguns and shotguns. In order to obtain any of these licences you first have to complete a competency process and examination in order to obtain a competency certification. After you receice this certificatiom from an accredited institution you still have to apply for a SAPS competency card. This will allow you to apply for the actual licence to possess a firearm. You will also need to first purchase the firearm before being able to process a firearm licence as the serial number and description of the weapon is needed to finalise the licence application. There are lots of people out there that will be able to assist with such a process. Institutions like GOSA and PHASA. I have to advise that the process is quite cumbersome and for a competency and firearm licence from SAPS can take up to a year.. I hope the information helps. 30. Guns... they are not always the solution. If you show your weapon, you will escalate the situation. If you want and have to use it.. do it, otherwise, think twice to show a gun. Just buying one, doesn't make you hit and hitting you want with every shot on low distance. Getting a side arm demands that you educate yourself and train with it.. or you just escalate the situation to your worse. I am thinking into getting a side arm at the moment.. had a youngster trying to highjack my car. The size blade he pulled out, would have easy gone through my chest and into the seat was pure luck i had my driver window going up as i felt uncomfortable suddenly. I avoid any road passing a township now and close windows on robots. I think into getting a HK VP9, had a Desert Eagle 44 when living in Switzerland, sexy but to big. Not that you really need one there hehehe but a youngster and guns. When I got my first pay check from my first fix job, I walked with my credit card into a gun shop in Bern and came out with a Mossberg Pump Action 10 mins later. Stopped on the way home on the highway and tested the gun on a street sign wasn't the first hole somebody did ^^ Swiss love their guns. We shot on 50 meter with a Sig Saur P226, friends gun, cheaper as the Desert Eagle (awesome to fire at night, the fire blast out of the barrel is very much impressive) You even can select rifle shooting (0.22 caliber) in school.. what I did ^^ Free to use shooting range and free ammunition once a week. Somebody in here more into gun licenses? I would like to make a license to carry my side arm with me.. possible here? You can't do that in Switzerland as a private, you need a job in relation or is a no no. Would be private for me, not sure possible.

  31. @Bos and @Bakstein420 hey guys, thanks for your replies. I think its very important to have a dog as they usually alert you to the on coming danger. The law fails us as even if you are legally armed and defend yourself, and end up killing someone, you will be arrested, charges brought against you, you would basically have to prove you innocent. Lots of headaches for you while if "He" is a "Kleva" and enters your home and there is a barrier between you and him like a gate, you CAN NOT open fire on him! The only time you can is if your life or that of another human beings is in imminent danger, eg. He points a gun at you, by which time he would have already shot you. A wise forumite said to me its better to have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it... What drives me mad, really mad, is when people tell me at least you got away with your life, really???? Is this the norm??? Like we should just be grateful that no other human being killed us that day??? How have we progressed as a species??? Why shuld I wake up and go to work? while u just come rob me of my belongings??? (Rant over...)

  34. I just bought the gel from one of the online stores, its red and you store it in the fridge. I add Part B to bring the water up to 500ppm, then a teaspoon of the gel into the res, then airstone and heater, have roots around 4 days, complete in around 11 days for transplant. If you have never added nutes to your res, I suggest you try it,really speeds things up.
