So the little one shriveled up and died... The other two is going sttong and had their first feeding of microbes today. No sign of sex yet but it does look like two girls. Time will tell.

Hi folks. So I've been following the forum and learnt a lot from fellow growers. This will be my second indoor run so I thought I might as well start a little grow diary. I have a thing for running different strains and trying to experience some of the fire genetics on offer. So in this cycle I will be running the following: Wedding Gelato - Royal Queen Seeds Purple Queen - Royal Queen Seeds Upper Cut - Oni Seeds Glookies - Barney's Farm Old School - Ripper Seeds Franco's Lemon Cheese - GHSC Chocolate Haze - Royal Queen Seeds *(Back up)* I started germination on the 19th of September with all 6 feminised seeds going straight into peat pellets. No water or wet paper towels for me, I have had 100% germination success with seeds straight into pellets. For some reason I feel handling the seed less during germination might be better. That being said... during the transplant from pellet to pot I accidentally broke the tap root of the Franco's lemon cheese in half.. It seems like the lady started growing sideways and when I removed the pellet from the tray the tap root snapped in half with that said a Chocolate Haze went into a peat pellet as reserve and I transplanted the broken Franco's with the hope of recovery. To my surprise Franco's started growing a new tap root without any cotelydon showing yet. So nursing her back to health now. I cut of the gaas from the peat pellets before transplanting to the final pot as I feel some of the gaas might stunt root growth by not allowing easy penetration through the meshy material. So today will be day 9 since germination and I am seeing some nice 2nd set of leaves developing. I also did a soil tup up today to get some of that stem shooting some extra roots. I will be running a full mainline training exercise in 20l pots on all the ladies bar those that might not like the High Stress Training so much. Aweh fellow greenies. Life is doing that curveball thing...as if covid wasn't enough. Ladies haven't been getting all the attention they deserve but they still looking good. Had almost a week of cold and rainy days, wpm and budrot here they come..... 1-2. This Purple Pineapple lady just exploded as can be seen from the internodal spacing. Maybe the Bio Ocean pellet topdress and mung beans had something to do with it or could be a combo of f1 vigour which is positive, but she can't hide her sativa genes. Only topped her once, wanted her to express as naturally as possible. Not a drop of wpm on her so far, which is a good sign as she is in pre flower. 3-4. Seedsman Lemoncello is filling out nicely. The mielie SST and molasses in between normal feeding is doing the thing for the flowering girls. She is smelling awesome and her nugs are dense and frosty. 5-6. The Purple Stilton lady is also doing well, she's putting on decent weight despite the crap weather. Defoliated all the leaves with signs of wpm, trichomes are mostly milky, just want a few ambers. Hoping I can get her to the harvest line because she is frosty as a snowcone and smells bloody awesome.

As I mentioned in the other thread, I feel its genetic as well. I would not recommend you flush either, the other plants in there will starve. Already they're looking quite light in colour and I feel could do with some extra nutes - if anything I feel you should be feeding them and not flushing. Although having plants in veg and in flower in the same pot isn't going to work as their nutrient needs will vary. Also how do you manage the light? If its outdoors, that colourful plant will likely start to reveg at some point. This threads title made me think of a song... Fat Boy Slim - Star 69, ooold song.

Harvest Day Today was the day, well rather this morning the tent has been in a dark cycle since yesterday, so I've taken all the soil plants out and saving the long dark for the DWC plants. 20L pots will be more than sufficient and can be used for your indoor grow as well. I like to use carlton towel too, place it into a zip lock bag to keep humidity in and then between 2 saucers to keep light out. On top of a modem should be fine to keep it all warm. There are various things you could use to help the plants, but, how much of a difference it makes and how much you are willing to spend is what it comes down you. You could spend a couple thousand on "magic potions" and may not even notice a difference. You do not need any vermiculite, that would just lead to increased water retention. The FF soil alone should suffice and have enough drainage as well. I must say, the FF pots are not bad but there are nicer pots out there. I quite like the Plant Matter pots and @Ill_Evan has some pots which are really awesome as well and priced decently. May be worth speaking to him about some fabric pots. Cannot remember the name of the pots. You will need a loupe or microscope to check the trichomes on the plants closer to the time, as well as a pair of trimming scissors. But you have a few months to go before that is really going to be needed. I don't feel there is much need for the coriander, try it if you want to though. Dont think it will do any harm. You may need something for pest control, can address that later on if need be. If there is anything else you need, you can get it around the time you need it if you are on a budget.

When I went there last they did say that they were going to start stocking seeds bro. But if you want now, you could pay them a visit and pick up 2 regular seeds for free! You need to Ph Coco.. no way around.. FF Premium with BioBizz range will do for outdoor. Should be a smooth cruise.. you want to start in November.. depending on strain time, early Nov for 12 week plants, mid Nov for Fast ones, 8 to 10 week strains. Would be my input..

If you have calmag, that could work too - although it contains more than just magnesium. Foliar spray will likely work best / most effectively and quickly.

yo, that looks 100% genetic. check the colour of the petiole, green AF, as well as the new growth. its probably just a different strain man. it also looks like it is in the early stages of reveging the plants look good otherwise, keep it up

Got a batch of younglings going and roughly 2 weeks ago I needed to make space in my other tub to train a mother so I transplanted the patient into the tub in the pics - a week in, I start noticing the first issues with the color shift, the fan leaves were only purple ever so slightly around the edges & the plant was still perky and happy so I figured maybe some phosphorus was needed but the color change just got worse & the plant still looks happy, flushing is also not helping I have a 2 preflowering and 1 budding plant next to the patient (looks weird lots of 3 blade leaves) but no other plant is exhibiting any toxicity or purpling? This afternoon I go out and the fan leaves on patient completely deep purple as in pics, yesterday the newer growth had ranrom purple spotting and not purple edges like the fan leaves but today surely enough like in the pic that whole lil sugar leaf is purple I don't have a PH pen so I got no idea where to start (except buying some dolomite) and am reluctant to risk ruining the rest o the plants to save one - even the buds themselves are getting an indigo blue/purple hue to it and I mean this is a swazi plant so any ideas would be appreciated cause im thinking nutrient overdose but if so what to do? Just flush and pray? My concern is the medium is very sandy, am I leaching the available phos in the sand by flushing?

Yes indeed, the pots I use in my recent grow are the 20L Freedom Farms Pots. The alternative budget pots are the DirtPot range from Hydro Garden.

How can u tell? I'm not all to clued up on the signs except single pointed leaves suddenly forming

@Bakstein420 I have no idea haven't noticed any single pointed leaves although the neighbouring plant next to it has a lot of 3 point leaves but its stunted so I'm not too concerned but its getting close to that time where I should keep an eye out as I'm getting daylight from 6am till 6/7pm But otherwise the other younglings im gonna just let them do their thing after transplanting them & train them nicely in a seperate pot, I just grow them in a tub like this for 'natural selection' its much simpler than having 20 pots less work, but must space them nicely and if u f%ck one up u f%ck them all which is why I was so paranoid in the first place lmao

Out of those 4, only 2 are really vital as far as I am concerned and if someone is on a budget. Fishmix or Grow (don't need both) Bloom Topmax seems to just be humic & fulvic acids - you can get these pretty cheaply at a few places. Organics Matter sell it, I got some from them a while back. It will last forever! You can get by 100% with just FIsh mix and Bloom, although if you'd prefer you can get Grow and Bloom, grow can be used during flower a bit but I do not see why you'd want to do that, especially in soil. Fish mix I believe is a bit better for veg though. If it were me and based on my previous experience, I would get fish mix & bloom only. leave out the Grow and source humic & fulvic acids elsewhere if you want to use them.

All the plants are in the same soil too? So they're all receiving the same nutes. Yield could be diminished if it were a nute issue, although I don't see it. Not uncommon for some plants to give colour during flower. If you were to pull it now, you'd have lower yield and immature weed, so it could be a lot weaker. Best to wait and let it mature, it'll probably fatten up and the potency will increase as it matures. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

Hey Blazer, thank you. I took a look at Westpack on your suggestion. I have been hunting online for good prices in Cape Town. Prices here are more than double Jhb in the places I've been looking. The big plastics places sell wholesale and I can get a great deal on 30 buckets, but I only want 3 to make my juices. If I could find takers for the others I would get them. I will likely ship from Jhb if I don't find anything soon. My LABs are almost ready for a bucket. I will take white buckets if I can't get black.

now that you point it out, the leaf veins are slightly different to the rest of the plant. Classic magnesium deficiency... or rather the start of one. What are you feeding her? i hope you have a box of epsom salts handy!

Not sure if its the lighting or my eyes, but the leaves on the plant is not looking too happy. @CreX what do you think? Otherwise keen to see how the mainline turns out

Just a slight upgrade from the QB75 from growopz. I've got the QB130 3500k in my grow tent since Wednesday. I'll add the QB75 for the next grow so I'll be running just over 200watts or the next one.

@CreX has pretty much nailed it. 62% for long term storage, 58% for when you want to keep a small stash aside for you to smoke from. I personally prefer to have a hygrometer in each jar to ensure the RH is consistent, humidity can easily differ from jar to jar based on the density of the bud - even with the same strains and different phenos. Why risk ruining it due to high humidity and mold? With multiple strains it's even more likely, especially if the plants are harvested at different times. You will burp the jars if the bud wasn't dried enough and the RH spikes too high, the Boveda's may not pull the humidity down quick enough (or enough, in general). EDIT: I personally prefer to not over dry my bud, if the Bovedas need to increase the RH then I find it can affect the cure and the bud isn't as great as when the RH is spot on or the bovedas need to remove a bit of moisture. When done like this the cure seems to continue without issues and the weed ends up really good!

What up bro. So im assuming with large harvests then its probably esential to monitor RH. But with a small harvest it should be an issue?

it would be wise to have one or 2 for this purpose, if you have the cash, then yea why not... but i wouldn't call it essential to have one in every jar. once the RH stabilizes at the preferred RH, no more burping is required and you can trust that the bovida will do the rest. as for different strains, not really. i think i know what you are asking and i dont think so. RH is just the count of moisture, it has no effect on the flavour of the bud or the high.

If its the same strain. Harvested at the same time. With the same amount inside. Then 1 meter should be ok for all jars. If its different then maybe another meter.

Sort of with this one... If you harvest and dry and jar the weed and the RH goes up to 70+, your bovida might battle to absorb all the excess moisture. So burping is essential, even with bovidas for the first week of cure at least. Get some small RH meters that can fit in the jar to make sure the bovidas are holding the RH where it is supposed to be

This is interesting to read, thank you for sharing from all your experiences I havent really thought much about what I am going to do once I get to Harvest and Curing. So would you guys use 1 of these packs in a large zip-lock bag or a glass jar? Then stash the bag or jar in a cupboard and then keep grabbing a bud or 2 from there whenever you keen to smoke? Assuming this is after the initial curing stage and how you would be storing your buds for the weeks/months ahead?

just in general 62% is kak to work with unless you bong a head whole. its just too moist to grind up nicely, it is too sticky to roll properly, the excess moisture means i need to clean my pipe twice a week and not just once. but for long term storage and flavour retention , 62 is the way to go. and then my personal stash or day stash is at 58%, its just perfect to do all of the above. Amazing the difference 4% makes ey?

Im really happy with the progress. They seem to like the greenhouse.. Although my other seedlings seem to stretch more than normal.. but I do not mind the stretch much..
