  1. @CreX Thanks for the response bru - much appreciated... I was a little desperate since the weekend, so this what I did: Because the leaves were feeling a bit heavy/soggy, I didn't water for a few days - thought it was being over watered... I then defoliated the big fan leaves and older leaves that were dropping... Yesterday I mixed some BioBizz Nutrients that I just bought (grow and bloom) and watered accordingly. After a little while she perked up nicely. This is what she's looking like now...

  2. Hi Guys, I am new to cannabis growing, but have to learn fast. Many years experience in hydroponics, aeroponics and tissue culture. Busy building a commercial licensed cannabis facility. I hope to get some valuable information in this forum. TIA

  3. Here's a quote from Dirty Ninja on NukeThreads "For cannabis, bottom threshold for optimal growth and photosynthesis is a DLI of DLI of 22 would be: ****Going lower than these numbers will still grow cannabis, however yields, bud density, potency and THC percentage may suffer. 24/0 schedule: 254.6 micromoles/m2/s-1 18/6 schedule: 381.5 micromoles/m2/s-1 12/12 schedule: 509.25 micromoles/m2/s-1 For Cannabis, the Top threshold for optimal growth and photosynthesis is a DLI of 65 moles per day. ***extremely important notice, only go up to these amounts if you are using supplemental CO2, do not go this high if you are not using supplemental CO2 as you will actually slow down photosynthesis and waste energy. 24/0 schedule: 752.31 micromoles/m2/s-1 18/6 schedule: 1128.465 micromoles/m2/s-1 12/12 schedule: 1504.6 micromoles/m2/s-1 The generally accepted guidelines for artificial light PPFD in flowering are this: in a 12/12 PPFD of at least 510 micromoles/m2/s-1 for the low end of optimal intensity PPFD of at least 800-1100 micromoles/m2/s-1 for perfect optimal lighting without additional CO2. PPFD of at least 800-1500 micromoles/m2/s-1 for perfect optimal lighting WITH additional CO2." Just some additional info. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk

  4. Stumbled upon this article, I do agree that it feels as if they have missed the mark. Tried to cater a bit to us home growers, but missed the mark there too. https://www.moneyweb.co.za/news/south-africa/draft-cannabis-bill-completely-misses-the-mark/ Guess time will tell what happens.

  7. Haha ok, when I talk about vape I am referring to vapes which take dry herb. Although nothing wrong with pens which take cartridges, but never tried that myself to be honest.

  9. i guess this section is pretty bleak! i am sure some of us know a place or 2 that are pro cannabis/ or at least tolerate the use of marijuana on their premise. i love going to the great outdoors for a cheeky public smoke... nothing beats a hike with mates and a couple of fatties along the way. but i guess this section would be for more, closer to home kinda vibes. who knows of any places where okes can go grab a plate to eat and also enjoy a puff at the same place? a bar/weed vibe even... or just a venue that peeps can go and chill, and not feel nervous to spark up. Ill start with 2 places iv heard of. first is Sundowners in alberton. - bless their souls, i believe the place has shut down. another one i have heard of is Gerda's Kitchen at Injati. maybe i add a separate topic for the place. hows about a show of secret joints where we can meet up and be ourselves? make a new topic for each Venue and give the supporters some support too!

  10. Welcome! Exciting times! Best you get a grow of your own going ASAP too then. Commercial growing vs home growing will differ a bit, so keep that in mind when reading the info available on the forum. If you have any questions you cannot find answers to on the forum, start a new thread and I am sure the members will be able to assist.

  12. Lmao no I'm serious bro... This was my Inzane in the Membrane tree that got waaaaaaay out of hand for my space. There were just too many side branches and she started growing staggered nodes really young, so it messed up my training.. I took 6 clones, did a whole bunch of defoliation, and asked my mate to stick her in the ground outside to see what happens. Its a true Bush... It had some crazy growth and an insane amount of side branches. He stuck it in the ground and tied all the branches down in the hopes of creating new mains. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk

  13. @Vee I believe he is referring to Ampelomyces quisqualis, it is a fungus that chows mildew. https://www.groworganic.co.za/product/ampelomyces-quisqualis/ Alternatively, there is a product called Hydroliq Grow that says it works on mildew and is vegan/organ. Again I am not sure how effective it is. https://hydroponic.co.za/hydroponics/hydroliq-grow/?gclid=CjwKCAjw5Kv7BRBSEiwAXGDElW8MrnIc1WUUxEjJfK7NpmqBnTFZtGRGXfcILr-sC_zhQx5_zCMssBoCE4AQAvD_BwE

  16. @PapaSpliff overwatering plants do cause leaves to droop, but usually you can feel the stems (of the leaf) are firm and full of water. With underwatering the leaves will also droop, but stems will be dried out and leaves without much moisture. Glad she is doing better, happy growing, @CreX ftw ekse

  17. AQSF takes a while to get working as its spores. Something like Sulphur will work far quicker. So you'd need to access the situation and use products accordingly.

  18. Much better dude. Don't be afraid to scratch the top 1inch of soil... Few roots grow there, so it's a good test to scratch the surface and see how moist your medium is... If the entire top inch is dry, you can feel confident that adding water/feed now is a good idea

  23. Hi fellow growers, It’s rainy and cold in the Cape and it seems like the next outdoor grow is still eternities away. So I decided to do a little write up about my first outdoor grow in South Africa (used to do indoor in my home country). I think it might be beneficial for a first time grower. I hope it’s fine to post it here as this is a grow from 2016. I want to start off with a little background story. After 4 years of not consuming cannabis I decided that it’s about time for cannabis to be part of my life again. I didn’t have connections whatsoever in SA and buying from strangers wasn’t an option for me. I started to do some online research hoping to find seed vendors within South Africa because I didn’t want to risk being caught importing seeds. By that time the only online vendor I could find was Green Smoke Room but I was still very hesitant to order some seeds from them. By coincidence I found a guy on Gumtree who sold San Pedro Cacti and Salvia plants. I figured that he surely knows where to find some cannabis/seeds. My plan was to meet him to buy a San Pedro and then casually ask him if he also has some weed for me. That’s what I did and it all worked out as I hoped it would. I went home with a San Pedro cactus and a little bag with seeded weed. I was so happy to finally have some seeds even though these were bag seeds. Next thing I did was getting some good soil. I went to Stodels (yes I know what you think) as Freedom Farms either didn’t exist back then or I just didn’t have them on my radar. I think I was very lucky to find some awesome soil in a garden center with a PH of 6.3 I think. It might have been the soil from Floragard but I am not too sure about that. As friends and family had some funny ideas about cannabis I decided to do an extra stealthy grow… On our roof . I didn’t fertilize a lot before she went into flower. Only the last weeks of veg I fed her with some Seagrow and in flower I fed her only Biobizz Bloom. The total costs for that grow were something like 300-400 Rand. Below you’ll find some pictures. I only started to document my grow around week 3 after germination. As I was growing on the roof I needed to train the plant quite a lot so she’ll have a low grow profile. The plant got camouflaged by the grapevines pretty well. You see my growspot evolved slowly to counter problems like gale force winds or to keep it invisible to our neighbor. I even watered the plant before the sun came up to make sure nobody sees me. Once the buds fattened up I decided to play it save and build a little cover made from Plexiglas to ensure that rain won’t cause bud rot. Unfortunately the picture below is the last pic I made of the whole plant. This lady actually continued to grow another two weeks before I chopped it. As I harvested more than I expected I had to make a plan where to dry the buds. I figured the attic would be the safest place to dry my plant unnoticed. It worked out quite well, but if you can don’t dry it up there. It can get hot in there which will cause the plant to dry too quickly and also the heat is bad for the terpenes. This plant must have been a Sativa dominant hybrid. I can remember the first time I smoked it I was so full of energy that I had to mow the lawn. It was an awesome high. I decided to post this to show that it’s possible to grow some decent bud even on a very tight budget. I have to add that I was lucky the plant turned out to be female and that she was such a beauty. Bagseed is always a lottery and I think I won the jackpot that summer. I hope you enjoyed my little write-up and I look forward to start a proper grow diary this season.

  24. Hey guys. I started this cookies-bagseed, outdoor grow in potting soil in July. Used nitrosoil and seagro during veg. Haven't been using nutes for the past couple of weeks since they finished. Over the past couple of days I've noticed that the big fan leaves and the bottom sets of leaves on my plant began drooping. But this morning the leaves look really depressing... (picture below) Please help me identify the problem and possibly solutions...

  26. @Vee that is pretty much it, @Bakstein420 nailed it. You can get AQ SF directly from the guys who manufacture it: http://www.agro-organics.co.za/aq-sf/

  27. @CreX thanks so much for that! Your feedback is very insightful and will go a long way in helping me with this dilemma @PsyCLown the infestation isn't bad and the pyrol spray has helped due to the neem oil which I read up neutralizes the spores but I am getting ready for a potential return in which case I will use your and @CreX's suggestion and hit it with the AQSF. Thank you kindly gromies!

  28. AQSF should work well. Otherwise perhaps use some Sulphur spray, but do some research first. Some say its fine to use during flower, others say it may leave a bit of a taste / residue on the buds. Some notice it, some do not. Not bad to use more than one product, if its really bad.
    1 point
  29. Coolest, I did not mean any offense to you. The copper soap works very well for plants not in flower... And should be enough of a prevention to keep that grow happy in flower with out additional sprays. But AQSF should be fine in flower. Again ideally you don't want to spray anything on the ladies in flower ever... But when shit hits the fan you gotta do the things to save the crop

  30. Im with @Ill_Evan and @PsyCLown on the dry herb vaporizer. New users can adjust temperatures to avoid getting super baked. A person very dear to me has Glaucoma, started on the dry herb vape about a year ago , sets temps aroumd 180 to 190 these days, seems like a sweetspot. Cant remember the exact temps for what effects, worth a search online when starting. They are doing well and only uses the dry herb vape as treatment. About edibles, when using rosin between 60% - 90% thc, assuming the calculations are done correct - 1mg = microdosing, 10mg = new users that want to feel euphoria, 30mg = more experienced users to feel euphoria / also treating various medical conditions. Over 30mg can get a bit gutwrenching for new users, where 100mg and 150mg is seriously high flying. There are online edible calculators that will help calculate doses "gummy dose calculator". Serious medical conditions can require the latter high doses, where cbd can be used to counteract the strong high. I would advise new users to get some cbd as a go too if they feel overconsumed, also lemon rinds with lemonjuice, a pinch of salt mixed in water will help a lot. Dont quote me on all the above, do the research, i just jotted down what i could remember, some facts might not ne 100% anymore.

  32. I'm skeptical on those carts. There aren't really many legit ones and the ones I've seen in SA are none branded and like 90% THC concentrate. If we're talking about consuming too much, definitely use the vape and cart You'll never go back. ..well maybe sometimes because it's not always available the only time I don't dry herb vape is when I go out to friends because hey don't own any and still bong

  34. Shot for the post @CoolJ. Seems like household lights can be very usefull to grow. This post just validates my floodlight experience. Migro obviously used proper equipment to get measurments. But my readings with my free app seems like it is inline with migro readings.

  35. I really stopped buying weed because I know about what you mentioned, that's why it tastes so bad and burns etc. I'm training these plants so I'd hardly consider growing according to my preference "forcing". I am looking for all possibilities to make an informed decision which I am sure is ok to do. Thanks for the heads up on that product, I'll check it out and see what the ingredients are. Thanks a million

  41. Update time. My tomatoes. As you can see they're blooming. They were my test subjects for my auto run. Feeding all Biobizz nutes. My succulents. They have grown a lot. Need advice as to whether I should repot them. My big leave Spekkie. Had a fight with caterpillars and aphids but Bioneem and Pyrol solved that. My Lavender - severely underfed here in the beginning. The brown flowers are growing again and I messed up with the chillis. Too cold I think.

  47. Lekker garden with a lovely view. Its your legal right to grow cannabis in your balcony. Give your wife an ultimatum : "Following the Western Cape High Court Judgement handed down in March 2017 and the Constitutional Court validation of that ruling in September 2018, Cannabis has been decriminalised in South Africa. This is however not the same as legalisation, as the trade and sale of the plant remains illegal.". This means cultivation, possession and use in your home is legal for your private use. Have a meeting with her, start negotiating for 5 plants and 10 seedlings. It worked for me in the past. Good luck.
