  1. So the Gelato is carrying on with out a fuss. She may be small but has given zero issues this far. The LSD however is proving to be a bit of a diva. I have been struggling for the last week or so with twisted new growth that is very light with dark veins. It is way more noticeable under the LED than in natural sunlight. I gave her a dose of epsom salts hoping it's a sulphur deficiency. I flipped her to flower at the beginning of the week and have just started with half dose feeds of biobizz grow and bloom. Apart from the new growth she seems healthy overall.

  2. Noice!! The choice to grow will ultimately be yours... But for indoor I'd go for a more Indica leaning plant and take it from there... Lots of guys in the site sell seeds or know where to find sweet deals. Check out the vendor lounge on the home page. As for a light... 2k is alright but you might need to pull out a wee bit more for a light that will make you happy through veg and flower. Quantam boards are quite popular nowadays but even for the smaller lights you're looking at around 2.5 to 3k a pop... Totally worth it IMHO. I actually feel you could practice with bag seed and still pull decent results due to the decent light. Start with a sweet light... And the beginner grower trials and tribulations won't be so obvious and your learning curve will be sharper. I wasted money on what I thought was a good light... I mean it does the trick for what ever is under it, but not so much for whatever is not under it... And it took me years to figure out that my lights were my limiting factor in my grow... Imagine training weights like Goku uses? Shit lights are those training weights... Every aspect of your grow will be better due to trying to figure out why your plants don't look like the other guys online... But once those weights are off... It's game on and the difference took me from 0.6g per watt... To about 1.5g per watt... And with my next harvest I'm hoping to breech the 2g/watt Mark... Lights are the most vital aspect for a starter grow... Sadly the most expensive part too

  3. Hey man. So there will be a lot of sold out issues due to the fact that the boards are all imports and this isn’t happening at the moment. Don’t fear because all is not lost. I have heard a little bird singing and apparently there’s a company making quantum boards locally. Also remember the pricing you see now and the pricing with the Rand dollar exchange rate change will be different. So expect things to grow In price. if you’re keen to check find out more about this, feel free to drop me a line. The company will launch soon but I’m sure we can waggle a pre launch del out there somewhere. I am sure we are also able to work with your price-point as we have gone a custom route where each client will be dealt with on personal need. Feel free to contact me if you want to know more. fyi. All warranties are local so there’s no shipping back to China if something goes wrong or any delay as we literally place the leds ourselves etc.

  4. At the stroke of midnight, we lost our free trade rights to sell CBD. https://www.tnha.co.za/cbd-exemption-expires-where-to-now-for-cbd/ Consumer’s continued free access to CBD without a prescription under threat. On the stroke of midnight on Friday the 15th of May, over-the-counter Cannabidiol (CBD) containing products which have been freely traded in South Africa will revert back to being Schedule 4 medications requiring a doctor’s prescription, despite there being no registered (legally approved) prescription CBD medicines in South Africa. This situation is due to the 12-month exemption notice for certain CBD products expiring without an extension or a permanent exemption despite an impeccable safety profile. This places importers, contract manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors and retailers which CBD products in a precarious position, not knowing if they may continue to sell CBD products legally or not. CBD now reverts to being a schedule 4 substance in terms of the Schedules of the Medicines Act. Selling unregistered medicines is a criminal offense under Section 29 of the Medicines and Related Substances Act (Act 101 of 1965). The entire CBD product value chain now requires pharmaceutical trade licenses or pharmacy licenses to sell CBD products legally. In May last year a special exempted category of CBD products was created after our organization took the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) and Minister of Health to court. In a last minute round-table meeting between the SAHPRA and the TNHA’s legal representatives, a historic agreement was reached to exempt CBD from the schedules under specific trade conditions. These included: The daily CBD dosage of the product could not exceed 20mg. The amount of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) could not exceed 1 part per million (0.001%) by volume. The product labels and associated marketing materials could not contain health claims for diseases or serious symptoms, and could only refer to approved low risk ‘well-being’ claims. In a short space of a year under the liberalized exemption framework the CBD marketplace in South Africa has grown considerably. There has been a plethora of new local and imported CBD products entering the market, and a healthy and vibrant marketplace has ensued. This brought about many entrepreneurial success stories and employment opportunities. The public have enjoyed the freedom to choose CBD products freely and gain many benefits from them. To date the SAHPRA has not conveyed any reservations about the safety concerns, or raised any compliance issues with industry bodies. The TNHA are not aware of any reported harms relating to CBD containing products in South Africa which warrant the substance being tossed back into the legal basket of high risk medications requiring a doctor’s prescription and supervision. The only stumbling block for the local CBD industry over the past year has been the reluctance of the National Department of Health’s Food Control Directorate to approve CBD as an additive in foodstuffs and beverages, bringing us into alignment with other countries who have developed ‘edibles and drinkables’ markets. WHERE TO NOW FOR CBD? The SAHPRA has received various regulatory proposals for CBD and hemp seed oil from representative industry associations leading up to the expiry of the exemption notice. With the expiry date of the exemption notice having come and gone our organization will now urgently attempt to engage with the SAHPRA and Minister of Health to seek the reasons for the lapse. With the regulator’s heads wrapped up by COVID-19 and lockdown creating logistical challenges it is possible the deadline was an oversight, or the result of the SAHPRA and Minister not having the time to consider extending the exemption according to stakeholder proposals. The CBD industry and millions of CBD consumers need clarity on the future status of CBD and its continued access Now! Many people now rely on CBD for the maintenance of good health, and will undoubtedly suffer without continued free access to it. Other users may have experienced the reversal of serious health conditions. The harm created by arbitrarily removing the product from the free market without cogent scientific or risk-based reasons could result in being deleterious to health and place people’s health at risk. A risk which we believe far outweighs any potential risk of the substance itself under the existing low risk exemption framework. Should no answer be forthcoming from the SAHPRA and Minister of Health in the near future, the TNHA will have no choice but to proceed with the court case we launched before the exemption.

  5. Hi guys. So thought I would post what I've been up to. After bud rot claimed all the main colas on my last grow I wasn't too pumped to start again. As well as taking champix to quit cigarettes I had no real desire to do anything. Anyway I popped a LSD seed and left her by the window sill (for way too long). She had some "embryonic" type of sack attached to her, first time I've ever seen that. Anyway she grew nice and healthy and I topped her at the third node. Being my first phototype I was keen to try my hand at some HST. 4 tops now, also potted up. Chopped her again to make 8. Broke a stem that I attempted to save. Was a futile attempt. I couldn't get the broken tip to take but luckily there was new growth.

  7. Topped a bit too late but was already starting to pre flower. Sprayed every 5 days the foliage mixture. Transplanted into plantmatter fabric pots and added in micro matter from plantmatter SA and more explogro into the fresh soil. A mixture of my compost been fermented over 6 months now with fruits and vegetables with added micro matter as well. In both photos are Totemic Genetics left is the Choco NL and right the Bubbleberry Will also document Bubbleberry’s growth. This was taken May 23rd, today just after being transplanted and topped. Hoping for a full recovery in this cold. Do you recommend that I also LST for better light exposure or leave as is?

  11. @Crex you're probably right man. I should put up around 3k for a decent light. Makes sense that once that aspect is taken care of I can focus on actually raising my ladies. While searching for a decent light I came across many different brands, models and wattages. To be honest, its all rather confusing at this point in time. Does lets say a 1000w light really give you 1000w worth of light or is that just the max capacity of the light? IYHO, Is there any specific brand and model I should look out for that can be trusted? Im taking your advice and looking at it as an investment rather than an expense. Im going to have to smoke less for the next few weeks but all for a good cause lol Thanks for the help bro and the epic Goku analogy. ur tops man! its much appreciated. Jimmy

  12. Well, it's been more than a few hours but; Greetings everyone! Lol Update time. The tent is looking awesome right now. I changed the timer to 12/12 and flipped the bloom switch on as well. They're due for a feeding when the light comes on later. They're also in for a major defoliation in a few days... Let's hope it isn't too much for them to handle. So I took on a small project that took me about 45 chilled minutes to get done. A Small DIY CO2 generator. I know some of the advantages and disadvantages of running CO2 in a tent and how to properly use it, but I figured it couldn't hurt even though I have a vented setup. I'm not gonna seal up my tent, try to control climate and all that stuff, it's just something new to do and maintain. Please don't hate, lol. To make the generetor; - I simply rinsed out a 2L bottle, filled it a bit over the label with tap water (my tap water is pretty clean @67ppm). I know distilled water is better to use but I wasn't up to waiting for some to get delivered or setting up a quick distillation apparatus. The cost is minimal this way. - I added almost a cup full of brown sugar and shook the bottle until all the sugar was dissolved. - I made a hole in 1 bottle cap for the sugar/yeast mixture and hot glued a pipe in place for the CO2 to travel through as well as to serve as a detector in another bottle. - I added a 20g sachet of dry, high foam superbrew yeast to the bottle and shook it up a bit (closed with a normal cap) first to mix it up. I then screwed the cap with the single pipe onto this bottle and left it aside to allowe some time for the mixture to start reacting. - I made 2 holes in the cap for the "detector" bottle, 1 for the pipe from the first bottle submerged in water and the 2nd to channel the CO2 to the circulation fan with both pipes sealed onto the cap with hot glue. The pipe is submerged so it can develop bubbles as CO2 is being formed. This is so I can monitor how active the mixture is. - I tied a small hand towel over the yeast mixture to shield it from my grow light and placed everything in the tent. I'll maintain this yeast solution by emptying out 70-80% of the solution out, filling it up with fresh water and adding another cup of sugar. This will be done every week or so, I'll judge by how many bubbles per/s can be viewed at the detector. The process creates byproducts that will make the solution toxic to the yeast if left unattended for more than a week or 2. Here's a short video on the setup; https://www.instagram.com/p/CAgmEdQh96P/?igshid=5rkucicrj7bt I'll put up a few pictures of it also, in case the link doesn't work for you. I've included a few shots of the girls as well. Enjoy.

  18. LSD standing at 30cm tall in week 10. Growth has been slow this past week as I have been battling with a deficiency/lockout issue, though i seem to be winning the battle. The Gelato at 4.5 weeks is just under 15cm tall with no training. Not expecting much of a yield from this one but to be honest I am quite happy she isn't a space hog.

  20. In an attempt to find another partner plant and also uncertain when I would flip the LSD to flower, I decided to pop a gelato from fastbuds. Also a promo seed. Nice strong tap root. A 3 leef mutation. As she stands today, almost 4 weeks from sprouting.

  22. "The Ministry of Justice has drafted a new bill which provides guidelines as to how much cannabis people can grow and possess in South Africa. The Mail & Guardian reports that the bill was developed in response to the Constitutional Court judgement in September 2018 that ended the ban on private cannabis use. The draft bill – which has not been publicly released – states that South Africans will be allowed to possess up to 600g of dried cannabis in the privacy of their homes for personal use. However, they will be prevented from selling the drug – either recreationally or for medicinal uses. The draft document was reportedly sent to the national director of public prosecutions, the department of health, treasury, and other stakeholders in October 2019 with a deadline set for the end of January 2020. It should be noted that the details of this legislation may still change and that it will still have undergo a public consultation period at a later date. The government has until September 2020 to bring legislation on cannabis in line with the Constitution. Hemp regulations The government also plans to open up and regulate the commercial use of hemp products, providing opportunities for small-scale farmers, President Cyril Ramaphosa said in his State of the Nation address on Thursday. Ramaphosa said government will formulate policy on the use of cannabis products for medicinal purposes, to “build this industry in line with global trends”. “The regulatory steps will soon be announced by the relevant ministers,” he said. He reiterated that agriculture is one of the industries with the greatest potential for growth. The Eastern Cape Government has also indicated that it plans to build a cannabis college as a means of creating jobs in the impoverished province. The training facility will upskill farmers in the growing and distribution of cannabis, and will assist with seed, fertilisers and fencing. It is set to be built in the Ingquza Hill Local Municipality in Lusisiki, picked because of its ideal growing conditions." https://businesstech.co.za/news/lifestyle/374310/new-draft-laws-show-how-much-cannabis-you-can-keep-for-personal-use-in-south-africa-report/

  23. Since this was my first attempt at something as stressful as mainlining, I was certain I was going to kill the plant. I decided to grow a back up and decided on royal queens Critical since i had a bunch of promo seeds. Seems this little lady didn't know which way was up. I attempted surgery to correct the birth defect. This is sadly as far as she got.
