  1. Good Morning I guess you refer to the "hair" of the flowers. They will go brown, when you come towards harvesting time. The trichomes (the crystals) you check with jewelers magnifying glasses or a pocket microscope.. (40x and up). Those little bubbles change their color by time. Going from clear to white to amber. When to harvest is a bit each owns choice.. and one of the most discussed topics between growers hehehe I give you my 5 cent, then you all can roast me I wouldn't harvest anything, before the trichomes have not changed at least 10% to amber. That is the earliest stage to cut the babies down.. and plan in a 2 week of flush before that! The more amber the trichomes get, the more "couchy" the weed gets. It also gets more tasty by time. So a very tasty weed is usually also a couch weed. Most tasty stuff you get when the trichomes have change 50-65% to amber... but not always you want a couch weed.. so I harvest depending on the effect I want the weed to have. 20%-65% amber is my harvesting range. Energizers more early.. relaxers more late.

  2. I have been joining sosatie sticks in an L-shape to train some of my plants to grow lower than my wall height so that people don't spot the top of my plant. So far so good. This one is probably going to make 10 main colas. They are getting the same sun at the same height. Let's see the end result

  3. They change color by changing their chemical composition and that happens over time. Some are faster.. some slower.. some plants have their own agenda. As said above, you decide when you want to harvest. Check several spots on the plant.. get a good overview of the colors on your plant and harvest according to your liking. This part is the most annoying patience test of the grow cycle but harvesting to early is a bit like wasting all the work and money you put into the plant.

  4. And I guess to answer your question about the sun... I think that a high UV index would eventually degrade the trichomes, but I doubt that it's the sun if it's just the tops of the colas.... 50cm further from the sun isn't going to make any difference to its potency and strength. A more likely issue would be handling the Cola in any way... Pressing it to see how dense she is or whatever... Less handling equals better appearance.

  5. Hey man thanks for the advice, I think ill flush her this Saturday and then water with plain PH for another 5 days. So thats like 11 days to harvest then. I think in that time it should swell up and be a little more ready

  8. My daughter was playing with sand so I told her to clean her stomach. I was on my way to water that tree when I saw her sitting like this. Thought it looked pretty nice.

  9. How to start seeds.. the 12 hours in a glass of sterile water is a good start.. problem ^^ the swimmers are your friends.. the sinkers usually are not your best bet. After 12 hours of soaking, you need a few things: sterile water, 2 dinner plates and 4 sheets of paper towel (others love Ziploc bags.. i prefer plates, less squeezing). use 2 sheets together and place them on a dinner plate. cut all paper hanging over the edge off, less water loss and risk to dry out. Pour water over, the paper towels will stick to the plate, hold it up vertical and let the excess water drip off. Once stopped dripping, good. Do same with the other 2 sheets. Place plate, put 2 moist sheets on and then your seeds. Keep 2-3cm distance between each. Then cover the seeds with the second set of paper towels and the other plate on top (flying saucer style). In a dark room, check 24 hours later. Once your seeds are germinated and build some root 1-2cm.. use clean tweezer.. no touchy touch, your hands carry germs.. and transplant them carefully to the new home. Check that the head is UNDER the soil, that way the moisture of the soil softens the shell and makes it easy to pop off. If you let the head harden over the ground, it might simply decapitate your plant while it grows.. Soil is everything.. compost from the garden center will not really do the trick Happy growing!
