  1. A very exciting update! With the aide of our very own @PsyCLown I was provided with a DIY quantum board kit consisting of two QB288's capable of 240W of light goodness. A shout out to @CreX who also assisted me in troubleshooting the setup when I ran into some initial issues with the driver. Here is how the new setup looks: Now for the plants. Just a quick photo update should suffice. Starting to fill up the scrog net consistently. Going to run the QB at 100W for now while I am still in veg and testing the setup.

  2. Got a few favorites from the past year. Devil Cream Auto by Sweet Seeds Selected for uniqueness. Terps are an unusual floral citrus. The colouration of sugar leaves and calyxes are so dark it almost borders on black. Bud structure not very dense though. OGKZ (pheno #1) from Humboldt Seeds Selected for trichome production, strength and plant expressions. Trichome-laden bud with leaves that fade into blacks near the end of flower. Terps are earthy flavored cookie dough. Apollo's Poison Auto by Green Smoke Room High yielding beast this. One of the nicest autos I've run. Very sativa leaning hybrid, mostly from the Durban Poison lineage. Terps were spicy and berry. Pulled 132g dry off her in less than 3 months from seed. Strawberry Glue by TH-Seeds Another keeper pheno. Excellent lateral branching on this girl and unbelievable trichome production. Very WPM resistant too. Greasy, gassy and earthy terp profile. Knocks HARD.

  3. Russel De Beer, Canapax's front man was arrested on Saturday at the Canapax HQ in Brits. According to some apparently reliable sources over 1 TON OF CANNABIS was confiscated. Police reports, unsurprisingly has listed 500kg as a number. Still a shitload no matter which way you look at it. The official SAPS Story. Article link https://www.saps.gov.za/newsroom/selnewsdetails.php?nid=23194&fbclid=IwAR10hqk-HVHo6WrJW1KgqvX18gJeC3uHl6OjKVktCIuwhWAtz72EyLpFATE Media Statement Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (HAWKS) NORTH WEST – The Serious Organised Crime Unit of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation with members of Forensic Science Laboratory and Local Criminal Record Centre descended on a hydroponic dagga lab in Brits on Saturday and arrested the owner of a Cannabis dispensary. The suspect who allegedly also sells franchises for cannabis dispensaries is a major supplier of cannabis and related products in the country. The investigation aims to clamp down on the unlawful mushrooming of Cannabis dispensaries around the country which are purporting to be operating legally in terms of the Traditional Health Practitioners Act (No. 22 of 2007). A search of the suspect’s store allegedly revealed over 500 kg worth of Cannabis estimated to be approximately R3 million, hydroponic tunnels for cannabis cultivation, various apparatus for processing and oil extraction and other numerous cannabis products, all which were subsequently seized. The suspect will appear at the Brits Magistrate’s court on 11 November 2019 for contravening the Medicine and Related Substances Act and dealing in Dagga.

  5. Alright so, in the interest of not leaving an unanswered question regarding this driver, it appears this model is limited to 48V I've replaced the B model with the Meanwell 240 48AB and I'm happy to say that did the job. Can easily push to 200W and 5A with the voltage adjusting accordingly. So don't go for the B mode Meanwell drivers. Get the AB

  6. Genetics: In House Genetics - Sugar Cane x2 (Slurricane x Platinum) In House Genetics - Bananium (Banana OG x Platinum) Ethos - Banana Daddy (GDP x Banana Hammock) Ethos - Mandarin Cookies (Forum Cut Cookies x Mandarin Sunset) Ethos - Orange Kush Cake (Wedding Cake x Jilly Bean) x (Sour Tangie x Rozé Zkittlez x OG Eddy Lepp) Ethos - Glue (GG4 x (Ethos Kush IBL x GG4) x GG4) Mosca - Alien Wedding (Wedding Crasher x Fire Alien White) DNA - Holy Grail Kush (Kosher Kush x OG18) DNA - Strawberry Banana (Banana Kush x Bubblegum) Humboldt - Green Crack Humboldt - Gorilla Breath (Original Glue x OGKB) Setup: Seedlings = 110W COB in 80x80, Veg = 240W Quantum Board in 120x120, Flower = 480W Quantum Board in 120x120 2x 6" Extractor 10L and 15L pots Nutrients and Soil: Freedom Farms Classic Soil BioBizz Grow Freedom Farm's Kelp Freedom Farm's Fire Juice Wurmbosch Worm Castings BioBizz Bloom _______________________________________________________________ Germination & Week 1 The germination was done in paper towels with open ziplock bags for humidity retention, as well as inside of a humidity dome on a heat mat. Had a 100% germination rate on these beans. ____________________________________________________________ Week 2 Veg Week 2 was going alright, though I was a bit light on the watering which resulted in some slowed root growth. All girls were looking decent except for the Ethos Glue which revealed itself as a runt early on. Was later removed from the tent during mid veg. Kept them under a heat mat for a while since temperatures were a bit low. ____________________________________________________________ Week 3 Veg Transplanted into slightly larger pots with some Mycoroot. Roots took hold during this period and the plants started to look much better, split picture below is a 5 day difference after transplant. Still only giving water at this stage, pH to 6.3. __________________________________________________________________ Week 4 Veg They were looking better in week 4, though still recovering a bit from the slow root growth in the second week. However they were definitely speeding up, with the Mandarin Cookies pictured below taking the early lead in appearance. ___________________________________________________________________ Week 5 Veg I started to give them the first feed in week 5, providing them with 1/3 strength Kelp, as they weren't showing any real defs at this stage and wanted to just give them something for the following week. It was also at this time that I did a bit of a late topping to the girls. _________________________________________________________ Week 6/7 Veg Week 6 of veg and the plants were moved into the 1.2x1.2m tent under 240W of QB. Feeding them once a week during this period with 1/4 dose BioBizz Grow and 1/6 strength Kelp. _____________________________________________ Week 7 Veg Week 7 I gave them a feed of Worm Castings, but noticed that none of the plants were very hungry and a once a week feed was seeming more than enough. Pictured below is the Alien Wedding by Mosca. _____________________________________________________________________________ Week 8 Veg In week 8, I took cuts of the girls. Pictured is one of the Sugar Cane cuts after 6 days in EasyPlugs. ___________________________________________________________ Week 1/2 of Flower This was a few days ago now, I am currently into the second week of 12/12 and the plants are starting to show clusters of pistils. The stretch on the Green Crack and Orange Kush Cake is unbelievable and I had to tie them down just before flipping to promote some hormones to the lower nodes. Pictured below, in order - Mandarin Cookies, Green Crack, Alien Wedding and Sugar Cane Will update this thread as the plants progress through flower.

  7. Ah man, just can't catch a day now without doing something with the plants Growth is so rapid I have to check daily to tuck new growth under the scrog net to keep it nice and level. It will be super worth it when the whole scrog is filled nicely and evenly Bumped up the watts to 120W and keeping it just about 40cm above the canopy Also did a defoliation of the large fan leaves tonight

  10. Guess I'll do my part of posting in this section. I feel bad for now posting sooner but we all know what's what when it happens. Can't recall my initial starting date (sorry). 1st up is a pic of 4 seedling in the 20th October. 2 didn't make it after popping. 2 seedlings didn't look to well but kept them anyway. When the other 2 started growing they just stood still so I decided to pull them. Which left me with these 2.... I moved them outdoors and they are happily growing in the sun...underneath 40 % shade cloth.... They are being fed Seagro at 5ml per liter. The grow medium is coco. The reason for that is for when I transplant to a coco/perlite mix. The coco makes a nice rootball. I am now waiting on sex and then I'll move them into bigger pots and prep for flowering. Thanx @dank for allowing me to give your genetics a go. I really hope I don't disappoint...

  17. Very nice! Enjoy the QB's @Ill_Evan and let us know how it goes and compares to your HPS. Running my QB's at 130 to 140w in veg and some plants are further away from the LED's compared to your setup. It fits your tent really well too. Eager to see the outcome on this grow!

  19. I use to make my own. Quite an easy design. It ends up with a square bottom which can be beneficial to maximize floor space. And you don't have to use the weed guard material that's a bit costly. Most fabric company's sell a material called spunbond. Works perfectly. Just a little thinner.

  20. Do what I did. Find a strain that's got very little high and lots of medical benefits that could replace any medication she takes eg anxiety tablets etc. Get her to germinate it. And take good care of it. She will stop complaining about the noise and the missing kitchen utensils and let's not forget those hangers we steal from her cupboard. I use to dry my buds on hangers. It became extra work. I gave her all 50 of those hangers and now she's a lot more helpful in the garden. She even knows how to check ph and feed the gals. She's always checking my controllers and updating me on temperatures etc when I'm working.

  21. Hahaha you should plant outside then. I plant in the missus's best flower gardens. She always complains the garden clubbers will moan about the canna, but all they do is oohaahh, or pull a high brow.

  22. Week 14 Flowering Here is the hillbilly box in week 14, the ChocoNL not in the comp, and the hidden BlueBerryKush are ready to come down. The tall BlueBerryKush and ChocoNL in the competition received some Ripen in week 13, while the 2 awaiting harvest has only been getting plain water. Happy with the plants overall, serious nuggies looking almost furry with resin. No PM Poblems and managed the thrips and gnats with sticky strips and a visit from a predator plant every other week. BlueberryKush's Chocolope not in the competition Top view

  24. I want to buy a Rosin Press. Any updates on local suppliers? These are the ones I found so far, awaiting pricing on some of them. Price range is R5,000 to R30,000 with several in the R6,000-R8,000 range which seems to be the sweet spot. http://www.rosinpress.co.za/ https://marijuanasa.co.za/product/e15-rosin-press/ https://hydroponic.co.za/hydroponics/rosin-press/ https://hydroponic.co.za/hydroponics/rosinbud-m1-rosin-press/ https://amadab.co.za/product/4x3-10t-hydraulic-heat-press-dual-heating-platens/ https://vapestore.co.za/rosin-x-auto (out of stock and they are getting new models in 4-5 weeks) https://roguerosin.co.za/ram-rosin-press/ https://www.gumtree.co.za/a-other-electronics/other/rosin-press-for-sale/1006134701670910051577909 https://www.gumtree.co.za/a-other-business+to+business-items-for-sale/other/professional-rosin-press-hand-crank-duel-heated-plate/1005660973450912446748409 https://www.gumtree.co.za/a-other-business+to+business-items-for-sale/other/high-pressure-hydraulic-oil-extract-oil-press-rosin-press-with-double-sided-heating-press-plates/1005661170990912446748409 https://www.biltongandbudz.co.za/product/rosin-press-manual/ https://thebestgrow.co.za/product/rosin-press-monkey-boy/ https://thebestgrow.co.za/product/rosin-press-machine-gorilla/ https://aeradix.co.za/product/rosinbud-m1-rosin-press/ The cheapest device is the Rosinbud M1 for R5,000. It's a bit manual for my taste. I'd rather spend a few R1,000 more for a hydraulic or crank device. Any feedback and recommendations?
