  1. Howzit 420SA, The Big Cookie Birds are doing their thing. So far we have 2x girls for sure, they have been planted out and seem to be settling well. Gave them all a dose of AACT to help with stress and ease the transition. The ladies formed a good rootball in the seedling bags. They should take off like veg rockets in the rich medium. Keep on puffin Cheers Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  2. Genetics: In House Genetics - Sugar Cane x2 (Slurricane x Platinum) In House Genetics - Bananium (Banana OG x Platinum) Ethos - Banana Daddy (GDP x Banana Hammock) Ethos - Mandarin Cookies (Forum Cut Cookies x Mandarin Sunset) Ethos - Orange Kush Cake (Wedding Cake x Jilly Bean) x (Sour Tangie x Rozé Zkittlez x OG Eddy Lepp) Ethos - Glue (GG4 x (Ethos Kush IBL x GG4) x GG4) Mosca - Alien Wedding (Wedding Crasher x Fire Alien White) DNA - Holy Grail Kush (Kosher Kush x OG18) DNA - Strawberry Banana (Banana Kush x Bubblegum) Humboldt - Green Crack Humboldt - Gorilla Breath (Original Glue x OGKB) Setup: Seedlings = 110W COB in 80x80, Veg = 240W Quantum Board in 120x120, Flower = 480W Quantum Board in 120x120 2x 6" Extractor 10L and 15L pots Nutrients and Soil: Freedom Farms Classic Soil BioBizz Grow Freedom Farm's Kelp Freedom Farm's Fire Juice Wurmbosch Worm Castings BioBizz Bloom _______________________________________________________________ Germination & Week 1 The germination was done in paper towels with open ziplock bags for humidity retention, as well as inside of a humidity dome on a heat mat. Had a 100% germination rate on these beans. ____________________________________________________________ Week 2 Veg Week 2 was going alright, though I was a bit light on the watering which resulted in some slowed root growth. All girls were looking decent except for the Ethos Glue which revealed itself as a runt early on. Was later removed from the tent during mid veg. Kept them under a heat mat for a while since temperatures were a bit low. ____________________________________________________________ Week 3 Veg Transplanted into slightly larger pots with some Mycoroot. Roots took hold during this period and the plants started to look much better, split picture below is a 5 day difference after transplant. Still only giving water at this stage, pH to 6.3. __________________________________________________________________ Week 4 Veg They were looking better in week 4, though still recovering a bit from the slow root growth in the second week. However they were definitely speeding up, with the Mandarin Cookies pictured below taking the early lead in appearance. ___________________________________________________________________ Week 5 Veg I started to give them the first feed in week 5, providing them with 1/3 strength Kelp, as they weren't showing any real defs at this stage and wanted to just give them something for the following week. It was also at this time that I did a bit of a late topping to the girls. _________________________________________________________ Week 6/7 Veg Week 6 of veg and the plants were moved into the 1.2x1.2m tent under 240W of QB. Feeding them once a week during this period with 1/4 dose BioBizz Grow and 1/6 strength Kelp. _____________________________________________ Week 7 Veg Week 7 I gave them a feed of Worm Castings, but noticed that none of the plants were very hungry and a once a week feed was seeming more than enough. Pictured below is the Alien Wedding by Mosca. _____________________________________________________________________________ Week 8 Veg In week 8, I took cuts of the girls. Pictured is one of the Sugar Cane cuts after 6 days in EasyPlugs. ___________________________________________________________ Week 1/2 of Flower This was a few days ago now, I am currently into the second week of 12/12 and the plants are starting to show clusters of pistils. The stretch on the Green Crack and Orange Kush Cake is unbelievable and I had to tie them down just before flipping to promote some hormones to the lower nodes. Pictured below, in order - Mandarin Cookies, Green Crack, Alien Wedding and Sugar Cane Will update this thread as the plants progress through flower.

  3. They don't still have the Apollo's Poison autos I take it? They sent me 2 as freebies last year and they were unbelievable - pulled over 130g dry from the one auto (pictured below). Unfortunately my experience with some of their other beans haven't been as good, Supa Gorilla Cookies was a runt and yielded under 15g indoors.

  4. Howzit Nimzo, Drying and curing your buds requires as much care as growing it. 1.The bud needs to be trimmed and dried. 3-7 days depending on humidity. 2.Then cut from the branches and bottled in airtight containers and burped/aired every day. Keep in a cool dark place. 3.Humidity needs to be monitored and kept between 55 and 65% for proper curing to happen. (I use a humidity gauge, but you can use humidity packs like boveda) If the buds dry out too much initially you may affect/stop the curing process. 4. Start testing your bud for smokability/ smoothness. For edibles this isnt terribly important I think. I cure for 3 weeks before I fire up a test spliff. It's a bit of a process, but once you get the hang of it, it's not so complicated. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  5. Hi again all So this is what one of the buds looks like now - After almost 3 days of drying.. It feels dry to the touch but I suspect that I should leave it for the recommended 5-7 days. At which point does it start taking on the appearance of weed that you would buy from your local guy. I mean, more compact and tight. Is this maybe where the curing comes in? I'm a newbie so just guessing... Something like this... Thanks

  8. My 2c on the topic... Wish someone told me that these plants hate been over cared for... especially in the beginning. When they pop their little selves out their shells, just leave them alone. Give them a few weeks and then you can start poking and pinching. With regards to genetics... if you want to grow "local Landrace" then we only talking about 1 really, Durban Poison. And you better off buying DP seeds from a seed bank. If you want to grow bag seed indoors then you basically wasting money. It would be cheaper to go buy more of that weed. Electricity, Nutrients and many many other things becomes costly very quickly. Another mistake would be to grow that seed you found in indoor weed. 95% chance it was from a hermie. The next part I will surely get some criticism but it's for everyone that's a similar grower to me(1000W hps lights/aircons/dehumidifiers/etc). The main thing I wish someone told me that if I want to grow the FIRE, I need to bite the bullet and buy regular seeds from true breeders. They crazy expensive but still way cheaper then many of the other components of a grow we fork out money for. Peace my brothers. I'm very passionate about this plant and my hopes are that one-day we will have all the BEST genetics floating around locally and we won't have to look at buying seeds from abroad.

  9. I think the topic of landrace strains deserves a thread of it's own. I'm not even sure they exist anymore from all the human intervention, but that depends on how strict your definition of landrace is. Kinda like the argument regarding organic growing

  10. Afternoon 420, The@Dank Vanilla Kush Cookies are growing well. Just the girls are a bit shy showing their bits man. Did find a boy with a cool leaf colouration, lack of chlorophil. Seems to be in the genes as it's showing up in the new growth as well. The contrast in colour looks cool. I'll leave the plants to veg a bit more until their genders are clear. Still only had AACT and rainwater to date and they love it. Cheers Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  11. Hey man. This is my option of what happened to your plant. Your plant was in late flower but due to the light cycle peaking above 12 hours (late spring) it started to reveg, you can clearly see this with the abnormal growth, it's called fox tailing. I do not think your plant was pollinated by a male, but pollinated itself (hermie), this can be caused by stressing the plant to the extend that its defensive mechanism kicks in to reproduce automatically, usually it only produces a few seeds. The only way you will be able to "save" the plant is by harvesting early or by putting it in a grow tent with 18/6 or 20/4 lighting. If you are in the Western Cape, the new outdoor grow season has started, cut your losses and plant a few new seeds. Anyway, just my opinion...

  12. Hi all! It is currently 30 seconds after having ordered My Humboldt Seeds Sugar Breath (Fem Photoperiods), and a 30:1 CBD Auto. My setup is held in a 240x120x200 Tent, inside are Two HPS Fixtures With Two Nextgen 400/600w electronic Ballasts. I am hoping to start germinating during the week. I hope this is the start of a very successful grow!

  13. Coco/Perlite + Haifa nutrients, plants just under two weeks.

  14. The cocoforcannabis site has tons of great info for growing in general! If you go for soil, the main appeal is to have microbes which break down the organic matter to provide nutrients to the plants, but I was still giving nutes when growing in soil along with doing teas and microbe inoculations - it's actually a bit of a mission after doing it for a while. I am now trying synethetic nutes in soil, however feel I can get better results with synethetic nutes in coco & perlite so looking at making the change. Synthetic nutes are dirt cheap, coco and perlite are dirt cheap. You will save money by using synethetic nutes and coco & perlite. A coco brick can be purchased for R55 which expands to 60L give or take, Perlite is like around R220 for 100L - compare this to R160 - R180 per bag of soil (30L). Synethetic nutes can be purchased was stupid prices, Hortimix and Haifa are what I am currently using - well I have the Haifa but have yet to try it. Compared to the BioBizz nutes I was using before it's stupid the price difference. With Coco & Perlite and fertigation, you can have your grow setup so that you literally just check the plants and refill the res - super simple and effortless, at least that is what I am hoping for. I don't see what possible issue could creep up really. I see people stating that the growth which can be achieved in coco & perlite in 4 weeks would generally take around 6 - 8 weeks in soil. How true this is, I am not sure as I am still in the process of moving over to coco but if that is true it will be phenomenal! Especially when growing autoflowers, since they start to flower automatically based on time and their veg period is very important and you want them to grow as quickly as possible before flowering so you can get a bigger plant and therefore a larger yield. Shoter veg times = electrical cost savings. Since you are running HID lights the cost savings will be quite a bit more than someone like me running LED's... You combine it with the medium cost savings and the nute cost savings, over a year it makes a massive difference. Especially if you are growing a larger amount of plants and leads to faster harvests. It's a decision you really need to make yourself. Both are great ways to grow and they both have their own pros and cons.

  15. Nice. I just finished my first indoor grow with coco/perlite and it has been great. There are different trade offs between soil and coco/perlite. I think to be a good soil grower you need to care about the soil, microbes etc. Take a look on the forum for the discussions the soil guys have about teas and composts etc. That was not really what I was after at this point so coco was an easy choice for me. The trade off is that its a bit more hands on and there is a bit to read about up front. But again in my opinion I think it is quite a bit simpler overall than soil. Its easy to correct mistakes and impossible to over water (yay!). You'll need a pH meter and an EC meter. EC meters are better than TDS ones, but TDS can work if you have to use one. There are many nutrient lines you can try, I used hortimix + silicone from hydroponics.co.za and have had good results. The one big change I want to make with my next grow is to test the run off EC more often. Thats good to see overall plant health and to check if I'm watering too little or too much (i.e. too much = wasting water). There is a lot of info around but I've found https://www.cocoforcannabis.com to be the best place to find very high quality information all in one place. Some good articles there, podcasts too if you are into that. Good luck, looking forward to seeing how it goes

  16. FastBuds Blackberry Auto. She's 28 days today. Just been given Cal-Mag, I use a teaspoon per 10L. Will give her BioBizz Bloom once she starts flowering.

  17. Looking good The odd leaves on the Diesoline could be those OG traits showing up, sometimes the "fuel" genes are a bit weirdish looking in the leaves, then that pretty bud and that gas aroma comes through in flowering! Had a BigKush from Dinafem that leaned to the OG side, very similar weirdish leaves to your the Diesoline. Happy growing @Dojee Dave !

  18. Things are coming along nicely. It's been very wet and rainy in Cape Town recently, not a lot of sun. But the water tanks are full and ready for a hot Summer I think. Firstly the odd Diesoline: Definitely petite compared to the others. The Candy is looking nice and bushy. The other Diesoline is a bit yellow, but still doing well. The Whole happy family. Candy on the left, Diesoline in the middle and Gardeners Delight on the right. Shouldn't be long before gender reveal time!

  19. With heartfelt disappointment I must say that I have terminated my entire grow. There's some shit at home with my ex and I have fucked off... I pulled everything and turned all my lights off... There is nothing left. Peace guys! It's been great! Catch you on the flip side
