  2. This is more of a journal and trial than anything else. Long story short. Been on high dosages of SSRI's for 3 years. Been necessary in dealing with my particular trauma. But, and here's the big but...Emotional blunting! I can't handle how the medication makes me feel nothing. Fokol. Not good. Not bad. Not anything. It's really like you've given up on investing time in anything. Anything! So this isn't a psych consult or a thread where I'm going to answer any questions about my current configuration or what led to it or what meds I'm talking about. It's a journal of going cold Turkey off my meds as the reality of adequate self medication with THC has become a viable option and trial. A week after just stopping. My finger tips and toes have a permanent tingling electrical feeling. I feel completely dissassociated from myself. Almost euphoric. A feeling of being in a dream state. I have a constant ringing in my ears. Naturally my moods are up to shit and getting violent swings as emotions actually are starting to be felt now. Let's see where this goes.

  5. The idea behind breeders sending out tester seeds to forum members is not a new one, it is how I got started getting some decent genetics back in the day, on International forums. Breeders send out free tester seeds of their breeding to get a better understanding of the results. The more plants we as breeders can see get grown out, the better we can understand our strains and get valuable feedback from community members. For the early days I think it could work like this: Breeders can let me know about any potential seed drops that they are planning, this is just a formality, after this I will give you the thumbs up to post about your "new drop" of seeds, post will then get stickied here until all available testers are sent out. The breeder agrees to send the beans free of charge to the tester, the breeder can pay for courier or arrange with the tester to pay the shipping fees, whichever way they decide. The reason for this being that we do not sell any Cannabis seeds here in the group, for now at least, until laws are in place. The tester agrees to do a grow diary here on the 420SA forum under the https://www.420sa.co.za/index.php?/forum/92-local-genetics/ section in the main forum. This will help showcase the breeders work grown by different individuals using different techniques of growing. Some testers might decide to just take the seeds and not bother with doing a diary, if this is the case, breeders can decide whether or not to send them free tester seeds again. Diaries do not have to be updated every week, but a start to finish grow with at least all growth phases. Testers that keep their diaries updated more regularly (like once a week or more) will be favored by the breeders. THE BREEDERS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DECIDE WHO THEY SEND SEEDS TOO. That is the final rule set to ensure nobody tries to exploit breeders here on the 420SA forum. If a breeder is not sending you tester seeds, consider becoming a real part of the community and I am sure your luck will change. Keep breeding and growing 420SA! PS - Any ideas, advice or potential problems feel free to discuss it here on this thread. Ready to start rolling out some testers slowly slowly. Also running this past you @420SA , just jotted down what I was thinking, will update and edit as necessary.

  7. Weaning is more appropriate when stopping SSRI's. My girlfriend stopped hers a couple of years ago. Also with the aid of THC. But to avoid the side effects that you are currently experiencing. Take Half the dose for a couple of weeks, then half the dos again for a week or 2. Then take that dose ever 2nd day. And then stop. Good luck. Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk

  8. Freedom Farms and Organics Matter both have decent soil, I suggest you get some of that to make your life easier.

  9. Get proper soil. That organic fertilizer pellets killed your plants. I only add 1-2 cups on a 100l mix of soil. Then you need to let that mixture stand for 2-3 months. My advise is to fine a decent store bought soul like the guys suggested above. Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk

  10. @Oolong83 Ill try respond to these in point form. Lighting: I love this topic, always makes for interesting, perhaps even emotional debates. Let me start off by saying it as it is, your lighting will not see those plants through their life-cycle, the plants will die eventually. I read in your post you said 90 Lumens per W. Although this may be true, at what distance and what coverage? 20W CFL's will be wasting money even further. I suggest, instead of throwing additional low wattage globes in there, save up a little and get a bigger one. 50W CFLs were around R120 last time i checked, but even with 50W, do not expect great results. I recommend a bare minimum of 100W for vegging and 200W for flowering. (Single globe naturally) A watt is not a watt: Think of it this way, we both have 100W torches, mine, a single chip, yours 20x5W chips. (Same goes for any other type of lighting) Now what happens when we're standing somewhere "as dark as night" :):), we turn the torches on and point them in opposite directions. Will the light travel the same distance? The answer here of course is no, because the single unit has much more penetrations power. Exactly the same in your grow area, sure the lights are enough to tell the plants whether its day or night, but not enough for effective photosynthesis. Much like that 20x5W torch in the distance. I've included an Image that explains this nicely. Nutrients: Your seeds can sustain themselves for about 3 weeks, without the need for any nutrients. Remember, your potting soil will also have nutrients in them, organic perhaps, but nutirents nevertheless. I would suggest you dont add anything to your soil and perhaps even flush the soil before use, which is what i normally do. Be careful of pelleted nutrients, cannabis has a very specific requirement plus those pellets will create hot spots in your soil. Buy something like seagrow, which works quite well and being organic, you wont get nute burn or lockout due to mixture. Bonemeal will burn the seedlings. I suggest you repot urgently. Soil: Get some vermiculite into that mixture. If your roots dont have enough air, ie. soil does not dry quick enough, youre making your plant sad and inviting all kinds of pests. just read though your initial post again, your soil is hotter than a R200 desert eagle. Take the plants out, rinse roots and plant into freshly rinsed soil.

  13. @LukeS the reason i dont like bicarb at a late flower stage is that it can get absorbed into the trichomes which will leave you with a harsh smoke & taste. foliar spraying with lemon juice will attract WPM so its not a good idea, ideally you should be at about 6.2ph for foliar feeding. the only real downside to H2O2 will be that you may loose some terpenes - this is debatable, but you will finish with good smokeable bud - i would still advise a bud wash after harvest. apply every 2-3 days. spray early morning before lights or just before they switch off & have a fan running. if you do this mid light cycle your plants will burn. you can use the formula for diluting anything thats a bit tricky: Using C1V1 = C2V2 To make a fixed amount of a dilute solution from a stock solution, you can use the formula: C1V1 = C2V2 where: V1 = Volume of stock solution needed to make the new solution C1 = Concentration of stock solution V2 = Final volume of new solution C2 = Final concentration of new solution So lets say you want 3%(C2) final concentration & 1000ml (V2)of the final solution You have 35% H2O2 (C1) So: 35 x V1 = 3 x 1000 35 x V1 = 3000 V1 = 3000/35 V1 = 85.7ml IMPORTANT STEP: V2-V1 = water volume 1000 - 85.7 = 914.3ml So to get 1L of 3% H202 solution you need to add 85.7ml of 35% H2O2 to 914.3ml water

  14. Few things can be wrong here, soil being one... How often are you watering? Have you added any nutrients? Your lights concern me somewhat, they look like normal store bought lights you would normally use at home. The strip lights you have up there may not be enough, I have similar 12v strips in my tent, but they are purely backup lights in case of power failure. Incorrect PH can also cause lockout/stunned growth. Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk

  15. I’m no expert but if things go wrong at that stage (ie that early) I would venture a guess and say it has something to do with your medium (potting soil). Don’t ask me what though. I would recommend you get a proper growing medium, Freedom Farms or Organic Matters or mix Coco, Worm castings and Perlite in a 1:1:1 ratio.

  19. @PsyCLown I'm planning to have a couple of bonai mothers. This article explained it quite well: https://www.growweedeasy.com/how-to-keep-a-bonsai-mother-for-unlimited-clones Pretty similar to my "real" bonsai it seems, just more frequent pruning

  20. Thanks Pat, That really helps, what happens if I try and keep the plant in a smaller pot for an extended period of time? Will it simply start to die? @Green Leaf Organics in my previous thread you stated you had some mother plants for a couple of years. How do you do your cloning, what pot size do you use etc?

  21. Not really bru, I've had a few gens of my Amnesia Haze and the potency is still top notch. I am aware of the potency dying off but I think that's when you go down the line of like 10 generations [emoji1787]but no I'm not there yet and the bud is still amazing. 22. @Pat999 i know this is a contested issue, do you not lose potency when you start taking clones of clones? ive never gone beyond a second gen of clones, whats your experience with this?

  26. you should start treating it immediately, hydrogen peroxide foliar spray @ 3% will get rid of most of it, just before lights on/off with fan, then budwash after

  27. @Pat999 @Stoukie I have a horticultural friend (not Cannabis) that mentioned to me the other day he uses cinnamon to control PM organically, I haven't tried yet. The usual H202 mix + some diluted vinegar also does the trick for me. Glad your are winning that battle man! If all else fails I defol like a mofo! Not trying to give advice just been meaning to mention this to you guys about the PM, especially with outdoor season coming sooooon!

  28. I forgot to mention, when I used the rapid rooters I put some soil in some of them to see whether it would make a positive or negative difference and I was thinking more along the lines of moisture control. When transplanting from the rapid rooters to the pots, I noticed that the seedlings which had soil around their raid rooters were generally larger and the roots had berried themselves in the soil and there were more and longer roots. I had to carefully loosen the soil and then gently pull up on the rapid rooters. There was one seedling in particular, unfortunately I did not take note of which or take pictures however the tap root was super long compared to the others. Next time I will most likely germinate in paper and then plant straight into soil, or if I do use rapid rooters I will place them inside some soil in a smallish pot.

  36. Took a few fresh pictures tonight and fiddled with the ladies a bit... CBD Crack Auto - I took off the bottom two branches so ending up with the branches from node 2 and 3, the idea is to bend them horizontal and wait for 3 nodes and then keep node 1 and 3. Fastberry Auto - Keeping to the bending theme I'm pinning the main cola down and horizontal, will see what the cola does, but if it gets to long I'm going to spiral it a bit... Daiquiri Lime Auto - Stock standard, no training. Let see what the week bring, hopefully not PM

  37. I'm here to do one of those things they call an update, so with my flowering girls getting a feed tonight and getting some explogrow for going into the stretch I thought I'd snap a few photos. I've tied the Strawberry Amnesia and DC OG tighter and closer to the middle so its not super wide and taking up a bit of space. I'm giving them about 2 weeks from the first pistils then they'll get a defol again. My clones are also making an appearance for the first time, I think. LoL they are all looking decent imo, might lose one or two but so far so good. Pielle uit ouens!!! Leeuloop Sent from my G3312 using Tapatalk

  38. The seedlings should bounce back fine, I would be careful of over watering with that medium, a technique i like is to simply feel the weight of the pot after you watered, compared to when it is a bit more dried out. When you transplant them into bigger pots at a later stage you could consider adding some perlite (if its available) into the mix, you can add anything from 30% to 50% perlite and be ok. This will make your mix a lot more aerated, will dry out quicker and plants roots will grow a lot faster. I also notice quite a bit of bark in your soil, while it is not the worst thing it the soil, it does require Nitrogen to break down, plants could get a bit short of N as they grow. After it breaks down it will start to release the N back into the soil. Does wood mulch deplete the soil of nitrogen? ... A: The nitrogen is not actuallydepleted, it's temporarily tied up. This can happen when organic materials low innitrogen, such as shredded wood chips or pine bark, are incorporated into the soil. - source nola.com/homegarden/2014/03/does_wood_mulch_deplete_the_so.html
