  1. This is what I've found that works for me & is possibly the best bang for buck in the autopot XL system outdoors: Hortimix tripart kit, Silica plus & EHG bloom. Starting with the grow & micro at around 200/250ppm & 1/3 dose of silica for seedlings till they're about a month old or about 50cm tall. then gradually increasing it to around 1000ppm max for those 3 combined. For flower I half the grow & micro & add a bit of the MKP from the kit & the EHG bloom, keeping it at around 1000ppm. I use a 160l tank, so there's lots of room for adjustment if necessary, most times I just eyeball the amounts, then check the ppm & add more water/nutes if necessary.
  2. Have you tried keeping your vents open? I've had similar issues around the 10 day mark, but usually by then, mine already had roots, so were able to go outside. When I make clones now I have the dome vents half closed for the first 5 days, then fully open after that. I now have far less mold issues and my success rate is over 95%. They also dont need as much hardening off before going outside. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
  3. I agree, your ppm should be in the 250-500 range for a plant that small. I would also add a bit of calmag, maybe a teaspoon to that bucket. Good luck & I hope it recovers quickly, those damaged leaves are pretty much DOA, monitor the new growth closely. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
  4. Very nice @Bos I'm hoping for enough to make some sauces & at the very least, some pickled Jalapenos. I already know I'm going to love the pickled Jalapenos I might try something like a chillie oil as well. Depends on how it goes. It's still early days. My seeds are being delivered today. Finally. @Chris Jay it's a shame about the water situation, but at least you still have a bit of a variety going. If my chillie run goes well, I'll add a few more varieties for the next grow. Paprika is another variety I wanted to try, since we use it all the time.
  5. Lol. I definitely won't be able to handle the Apocalypse red, but I need a grow challenge & it's listed as challenging. I'll definitely share with a few of my visitors if I can successfully grow it just to see their reaction. Hopefully I won't have to call poison control/EMS. hahahaha My black friday shopping list (got a bit of a discount on the final total, just waiting on delivery, hopefully today)
  6. Any updates to the OP? I've decided on impulse to start growing some chillies, I saw a few varieties at GSR that piqued my interest. Apocalypse red, slim cayenne & early jalapenos & then some corno di toro for a sweet pepper. I've been doing birdseye for about a year now & ended up with about a kilo from a few plants last year. those have died down & come back up for summer. Hopefully I'll start the others in the next few days once the seeds arrive. I just need to make sure I have enough small pots to start the seedlings in. I'm just not sure about the apocalypse red. It's close to the reaper in heat & I'm still a noob when it comes to hot stuff. lol. even the birdseye was a bit too hot for me. I plan on making cayenne pepper & pickled jalapenos for now.
  7. Purple haze from green smoke room. Black friday special. Only wanted chilli seeds, but couldn't help myself. Lol Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
  8. Use a tds/ec meter. Add either more water or more nutrients depending on what concentration you're going for. I have a 150l reservoir. Mixing small amounts are too time consuming. I feed my potted plants from the reservoir and the ones in autopots get fed whenever they need it. ;) Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
  9. Nice reveg. I'm waiting on mine to start. Those plants will need bigger pots & lots of support. [emoji106] Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
  10. 200 might be a bit high. You dont actually need to feed anything for the first 2 weeks. I dont know the ppm of what I'm feeding, but it's extremely low. Here's a pic of my Charlotte's dream, literally came up yesterday & the husk came off this afternoon. That's in recycled coco from last year's tobacco run. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
  11. Yup, but I've only planted 2 in small pots with a very light feed. Half a teaspoon of A, B & a pinch of calmag in 1.5l water. They'll go into the autopots a month from now. I'll start with a ppm of 200 & slowly push it up a bit every 2 weeks till I get to a max of 1000ppm Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
  12. You don't need additional micro nutrients with the hortimix. A & B is basically your grow & micro. The only thing I would add is calmag & maybe a bit of silica. That's what I've been using in my outdoor autopot grow. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
  13. Ph down is fine. Ph up will cause the silica to precipitate out. I mix about 20ml of silica with 3ml of ph down in a 10l bucket, that gives me a ph of roughly 6.5. That goes into a 150l reservoir & if needed I adjust the ph in the reservoir. I monitor the ppm & ph in the reservoir every few days & adjust when necessary. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
  14. Autopots as well, but with airdomes. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
  15. It's been my 2nd year using liquid silica in my outdoor autopots. I'm using the silica plus from hydroponic.co.za at 20ml/150l Pros: Far fewer bugs. I had a few locusts, but they didnt do any noticable damage, so I left them. I didnt have to use any insecticides. Slightly faster growth, probably because I was also able to use slightly higher nutrient levels without burning them. The plants can handle the wind better & can bend more before breaking. Helpful if you're doing a scrog. Previous years I've had plants snapped in half. Cons: Silica can come out of solution. I've had clogged valves a few times. I'll switch to the bigger valves for next year's run. PH testing is critical & using PH up is a big nono, it will cause the silica to drop out immediately & you get the dreaded white cloud. It helps against mildew & mold, but only up until mid flower when the plant is maybe weaker. Just my 2c. I'm still relatively new to using silica. The Bay11 I grew last year had huge tight nugs. That could have been several factors, but the previous grow had severe mildew & molding the buds. I lost 90% of that one... Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
