adding additional ammendments to Freedom Farms soil.

Recommended Posts

Whats good everyone!

i am currently 6 weeks in flower on my first organic grow using freedom farms premium classic mix & biobizz. Ive been doing a bunch of reading and have concluded that organic is the way forward for me.
I personally think im too much of a noob atm to create my own living soil from an existing recipe & thought it would be a better idea to use the Freedom farms classic mix as a good base soil to begin with. Last time out the FF prem mix was good for 2-3 weeks of veg before i needed to add nutrients.

What additives/amendments & techniques would you suggest ?

TLDR: im wanting to dip my toes in creating my own soil. Before going balls to the wall and mixing up a 250L batch i thought i could start small and use the FF prem mix as a base with extra additives.

FF Mix + biobizz fish mix for veg, bloom for flower. That is all you need. You can then use em pro for soil microbes or freedom farms soil addictive that introduces microbes. Don't over complicate it.

Morning boet. I get what you're saying. I'm just wanting to get more involved with my crop and thought that mixing up some super soil would be the next step

then just add essential microbes, or brew a compost tea. 🙂 I would not add extra nutrients to an already carefully balanced soil. You could actually throw and swing the ph badly and then you will be involved for the entire grow trying to keep it stable.

I can PM my variation of the coots mix if you're interested. In my opinion very simple to mix up and needs very little feeding

As greenkush alluded to, the FF soil shouldn't be seen as a base mix as it does have amendments added to it. Amounts that you don't know so tinkering with that could cause issues

FF spoil is already Ph balance and can be messed with a little but I found it's pretty loaded as it is.

Mixing your own soil is easy and well worth the effort . A good base would be coco , worm casting , soil , compost of some sort and perlite . From that base you can start playing with amendments .

Basic mix:

Coco coir

Worm castings

Soil

Perlite

Mushroom compost / kraail mix

Kelp meal

Bonemeal

Rock dust

Lime

Mycoroot

FF soil is nice but it's ready easy to replicate at a fraction of the price

So Growmies... I'm not sure if this is the correct spot.. It's not a 420 friendly spot as per say... But this lovely lady started a Litle nersary slash Hydro slash coffee shop... I just love the idea that she has FF, Just Cannabis ext on her shelves for affordable prices.. I believe in supporting local and even more so when people don't just want to make a quick $.
So plze if you in the Northern  Suburbs of CPT, pop in and speak to Tracy..
Have a Iced coffee by Scorpio Coffees and browse through the Nic Nacs...
She also have companion plants, pots, veggies and so forth available...
Below her location... Check it out...

      Hello guys and girls
Was interested in gaining some knowledge on this topic. I'm about to start my next indoor grow with a soil I've never used before, Orgasoilux. In the past I've used FF soil with biobizz, but I feel it's time to transition into true living organics with Orgasoilux. For a couple of months of been brewing and feeding compost tea to my soil and my plants are loving it, however a product by the name of Explogrow has caught my attention. Since this product includes all the microbes needed for my plant do you guys recommend I use this product instead of brewing compost tea? Should I use one and not the other or can I benefit from using both? I don't want to over complicate my grow however I truly want to make sure I have a strong presence of microbes in my soil. I plan on feeding the microbes with molasses every week. Any suggestions from anyone who has used Orgasoilux or explo grow? Would greatly appreciate the help. Still consider myself a novice grower, however I'm extremely interested in true organic grown cannabis. Would also like know if it's neccessary to top dress before I transition to flower with some worm castings and dry kelp? Or will the orgasoilux take me from seed to harvest without any amendments or additives besides molasses. Any feedback or advice will be much appreciated. Happy growing. 🙏🏻🌱 ( I plan on vegging out the plant for about a month or 2 before flipping to flower)
