pH testing

Greetings all.

Has anybody used the pH testing kit from Hortishop?

I have used it to test my water but Im not sure if the results are right.

Iv followed the instructions on the bottle. When I tested my tap water the colour was blueish green. According to the colour chart supplied with the solution blueish green indicates pH 8-9

Surely this cant be right. I drink this water everyday! lol

Even when I let the water stand over night I still get the same result.

Is there something I may be doing wrong?

Any help/tips will be greatly appreciated.

Hi wallis55

I personally wont trust those ph testing kits. all it takes is for the solution to have expired ect for it to be wrong, and ultimately kill your plants.

When it comes to the Ph of your solution, you need to be as accurate as possible.

So Id suggest you invest in a digital meter.

Hi wallis. I've been using that horti testing solution with no problems. It's not ideal but it works. When I test RO water with a PH of 6.0 the solution indicates a PH of 6.0 which is yellow. When I test tap water I get a light blue.

That is the PH of your water I'm afraid lol

To check the solution's accuracy I'd suggest buying a small bottle of mineral water, check the label on the bottle for the water's PH and then test it with the solution and compare the result.
