Monster cropping
« on: July 24, 2017, 07:13:42 PM »
I took a cutting of the Ak48 last grow because of her exceptionally sweet aroma and a lot of that is picked up in the taste :-flyinghi   got a nice sativa kick then locks you down!
The cutting was taken in week 5 of flower.

This is her now almost in week 5 of flower  (31 days). A lot of really nicely stacked tops!
Just applied some LST and trimmed away a few of the strugglers in the middle.
She was vegged her for 7 weeks and got her in a 5l bucket, coco/perlite & peat, EHG nutes.

I literally have CFLs submerged in and around her ( 7x 23W + 4x 18W warm white).

She's loving it!!!

Day 34 for the lady and starting to give off that sweet candy smell :)

Super frosty this round, think it could be because of the very low temps.
Min7'C Max26'C. Nothing I can do about temps at the moment, might put a small heater just to warm the room a bit, but very restricted there.

Looking good bud but 7 is way to low, you costing yourself a lot if yield. Get a heater on a temperature controller in there.

And the clock is ticking and that sweet smell is becoming over powering!

I really like this pheno of the Ak48! She feeds super light and flowers a bit longer but wow! A keeper!!!

Day 53

The structure you can gain from monster cropping is amazing with minimum training and zero topping.
Besides the slow rooting with the cuts and a extra week or two of veg, you could have as many tops as you like. A good pruning will be needed during veg, a few times. Space them out as not to cut to much at once and preferable prune straight after a water or feed.

I have pruned away during veg but since then all I have removed are a few leaves to make way for light and air. No lolly popping and haven't removed s single bud.

Makes also a fruitful harvest for a cfl grow ;D

Some other Ak48 pheno's have joined her in the box. 2 on the left day 27 and 2 on the right day 32.

Peace

Start flushing the lady today.
I will give two or three feeds molasses ph'd water to about ph5.8 , ec reads about 0.650+- .
Then I'll give plain tap water not ph'd for the last week.

She is still drinking like a horse! 1.5l every 3 days and the pot is DRY on that 3rd day.

Still two weeks of fattening up in the way :rastabanana

Ahoys Zairek, thanks bro :-gthumb . She is looking good man! Very happy with this run. Wish I could post the aroma on the forum, so so CANDY sweet!

I hate estimating weight,  I always disappoint my self lol! She's still got 17 days to go max, pretty much just fattening from here on out.. I'm hoping for 2oz plus but like I said hate estimating :-bankie.. We'll see how she looks end of next week.

I normally get about 28grms (filled 75%) in one of those 1L Consol preserve jars, so 2 oz should be 2 of those jars. It always gives me good estimation on dry weight. 4 jars 100grms :-2cents

I love math when it sounds lime that ;D

Hope no one hates me for this but I use peanut butter jars (black cat), they got a good seal, don't hold any aroma and clean easy. 75% full in them is about 20g.

I normally start crying here on the 3rd/4th day of drying... Lol!

Sure she will get pretty close to 2oz by the looks tho :investigating

Holy shit she is looking gorgeous! Well done! Not sure what your space is like but I was dropping to 5C at night and just stuck two 100W fish tank heaters in 5L bottles in my mini greenhouse and the temp sits at 20C all night. Had the idea and decided to try

Ahoys JBKush. Thanks bro!
Thats a pretty decent idea :-gthumb

I wouldn't be able to fit a bottle in there tho. Did make a plan insulating room a bit more, night temps did pick up during the grow to about 15'C.

So day 71 came along, harvest day the 2 September.

The aroma and trichrome production was insane this time around. She did not fill out as much as what I was hoping but still pretty happy with how she handled with the low temps.

Moved buds from box to bottle yesterday. I was hoping for close to 2oz but think I'll be lucky if I get 35g, they are a bit fluffier than previous but think the low temps throughout could of been the cause.

Now to try and complete the process without sampling tooo much :-stoned

Sorry for shitty pics, phone was introduced to java... not so cool. These are all curtsey of A good OLD Nokia ;D

Neat plant J, how would you describe the aroma? What type of scale do you use for weighing your dank?
